Memories ~ Some funny stuff is there when you dig...

Memories:
The crystal ball
HOLDS MEMORIES OF SOME FUNNY STUFF
dig     dig       dig
and
share those funny memories with us!

There are some outright hysterical funny memories in all of us shared with loved ones...

I just know that to be true!

Painful ~ Loveliness, Memories... thinking about those memories of times past...

NOT DWELLING IN THE PAST, NOT HOLDING ONTO THE PAST, NOT CHRONIC SORROW AND PAIN...

BUT:

EFFERVESCENT... REMEMBERING...

AND FOR TODAY..

I WANT YOU TO THINK AND TO SHARE
WITH YOU, WITH ME
AND
WITH THE OTHER WARRIORS HERE....

THE FUNNIEST OF MEMORIES OF YOUR LOVED ONES THOSE WHO ARE LONGER HERE...

C'mon dig back into those files of your heart, your mind, your nervous system...
dig  ~ dig deep...

past the sorrow, past the tears.... and find the funniest memories .... ones that make you laugh out loud with the thought of,
the ones that you've managed to file and forget...
You know, The ones you've managed to let sorrow trump,
You know...
the ones that somehow have gotten taken over by grief!\?

Somehow and somewhere along the way, grief has grown over the happy/the funniest memory of all time,
are ya feelin me this morning.

Remember that show about the the "funniest video"?

Well you too hold the "funniest video" in your mind's eye... of a loved one... It has just had a patch over it through your journey of grief, somehow blinded along the way...

But for today... right here and right now... I want you to search through all those spaghetti noodles of the brain, those neurotransmitters until you come up with it...

I have faith that you will find it, just look hard and long for what is the funniest... memory...

I bet you've got more than one, come back and post them .... there are no rules on how many times you can comment! I know sometimes google will throw you out, those wonderful comments get lost, you get frustrated too... then the moment is gone, you sorta give up and just say.... well I won't say what you tell me you say when I get those frustrated emails from time to time!

But I do feel your pain/frustration... things like that happen, but don't despair... keep on posting til it takes it!

that is the beauty of this page, come back often, comment much...laugh til your face hurts as you recollect your treasures that you find! Re-visit the page, the thoughts from days/months ago... some will surprise you when you find your way back to them, maybe hit home if you know what I mean! See what others have to say since you were last there...

There are some fantastic folks who visit here I will tell ya that!

Give it some flare as you recall the good times, the great times, the hysterical times... those are the memories to hold fast to, those are the memories that sustain and propel you to re-invest in life, living and the pursuit of a wonderful and superb life!

WE are the legacies ~ our lives having been made all the more rich by those we have loved and been loved by ~

Chronic sorrow is not a garment to be worn by anyone ~

Even during times of profound sadness there is humor... hell I've never been to a funeral that there wasn't times of great comedy now that I think about it...

In Healing Heartaches, I tell the story of Soph who sat looking at her beloved husband in his mahogany casket and leaned into me and said, "you know honey... that casket costs more than any piece of furniture in my entire home ... and after today, I'll never see it again!" Have you read and/or gifted my book to others yet? I continue to receive wonderful emails telling me of its power, asking if I've been looking in the windows of others souls and lives... Seems everyone is relating to the many stories and the path of healing ways talked about in the many stories...

I am honored by the feedback... touched by the time it takes for those to take the time to let me know that they have loved Healing Heartaches, those that are writing reviews about the book and sharing it with others... Thank you.

How bout Soph... oh how I remember her stories, her journey, even today I smile and laugh when I think about it.

Now c'mon... that is funny~!~! sad, but true, and when you think about, I mean really think about it... quite funny don't ya think?

So... for today, let's embrace the funny memories, the great and wonderful moments of life, of happy, of memories that sustain and give us reason to STOMP, to celebrate, to laugh and know that we are more happy that relationships and love happened at all and that the miracle of love is stronger than the events of death ~ Life is for living, not continual mourning of endings...
There is no ending... the circle continues ...

The fire is burning brightly with thoughts being sent on the wind ~ ~ ~

Monday MOrning Madness ~ For some anyway... Called Stress

Bucket Sittin
Best way to just chill I'm thinkin!

Monday morning... I swear I hear the sounds of Mother's laughing across the winds as kiddies go back to school... and it's Monday, the stress for a new week is building, you can feel it in the air! No need to mention the dampness here... rain, did I mention the rain???

I think I can also hear those dreaded school buses humming on the roads too ~

NEW beginnings, new school year, new football season, new new new week ~Stress

TIME TO: DANCE ON DESKS, LAUGH, GIGGLE AND OTHERWISE MAKE YOURSELF JUST GIDDY WITH THE IDEA... It's a new week ~STRESS

Let’s talk about how we make ourselves crazy. Let’s face it, there are everyday stressors in everyone’s life. It’s the natural state of the world to be forced to cope with stress as we move through our day.
OK, but what about all the self-inflicted stress we welcome into our lives? Do you go to bed at night still wrestling with the stress not dealt with today. Toss and turn, wake up a thousand times your head spinning? Twitching with dread, anticipating tomorrow’s pressures? Oh yeah, does that resonate? Yep, you're feelin me, I can tell... it's the energy...

Sure recipe for waking up less able to cope.
So, we start the day worn out from a sleepless, or near sleepless night, and expect ourselves to be ready for a peak performance in this day. This is crazy making at it’s finest. So how do we get off the merry-go-round of stress?
STOMP.

Say no.
No to bringing home work stress.
Say no to the demands others inflict on our time.
Stop making ourselves so busy that we can’t possibly ever catch up.
Does all the worry about what we have not yet done produce results? Nope.
Does taking on too many tasks allow us to face a well organized day?
Does trying to squeeze in quality time to enjoy our life fix the problem? Or is the problem that we are not realistic about how much one should reasonably try to do in any one day?
By taking on more and more things to do, and running ourselves ragged trying to do it all and be it all is crazy making.

I’d personally rather do one thing well than swat at fifty things and have to redo each because I never could stop spinning and stressing about all the things still on my list of “to dos”. There is an easy answer. Say NO. Sorry, my plate is full. Just can’t take on one more thing until I catch up. I often say “ Thank you for thinking of me for this opportunity, but I know that I can’t give this: project, task, chore, etc the attention it deserves”. Would love to join you for; that meeting, dinner, community project, dance recital, etc. but I have a full plate. Perhaps a rain check. Glad you asked, but, sorry, I can’t participate. Try it. Trust me, you will have other opportunities. Just stop and clear the deck.

Lists work for me. I make a list of EVERYTHING that is jammed in my head, every, and I mean EVERY thing I think I have to do, want to do, meant to do, must do, think I ought to do. Then, and here’s the trick. Highlight the one’s that are deal breakers. The ones that would cost you your job or your life, or your well being if you did not tackle them today.

Next, put them to order.
What MUST be done first?
How many are longer term efforts that you must spend some time on over time. Are that you just have to do right this very moment? If so do it.

Good, now that one is off the list. The long term ones you are already working on. Draw a line through the ones that you really don’t have to do.

The ones that jump on the list because you let them. Like, Oh, I don’t know, let’s say, the Sunday paper laying around until Thursday because you didn’t have time to read it. Toss it in the trash. Gone. Now you’re getting in the spirit.
The two million emails that have been haunting you for months. Just because someone sent it to you, there is no rule that says you must attend to each and every one. Hit the delete button. Gone. Ah, that was easy.

Trust me, if you deleted an important one, someone will resend it.

So, now, already the list is much shorter.

NEXT… What is on the list that you don’t even want to do? What petty obligatory junk did you list that will only cause you aggravation?
Scratch it out. Do you really want more irritation in your life. Did you forget the “Say No” rule? Stop agreeing to do things and go places, that don’t work for you.

Now your list should look a lot more reasonable. Much more “do able”. If anything is still on the list that is busy work, dump it. Good Job! See anything else on there that you now would enjoy crossing off just because you can? DO IT.

So tell the truth, are you a bit less stressed already? You should be. The really important stuff will find it’s way back on the next list you make. Trust me on this.

Make tomorrows list today.
Then when you go to bed tonight, tomorrow is already organized and manageable. You need not spend your sleeping hours twisting it all around, considering getting up in the middle of the night to worry.

Take back your personal power. Lead your life, don’t be a victim to self-made stress.

Now for the stressful stuff that is out there everyday no matter what we do. Let’s say, too many phone calls. Ever hear of voice mail. Let the machine take the calls. You can check it once or twice a day and return the calls you want to.
You DO NOT have to answer every call.
Let’s face it, if YOU had wanted to talk to the caller, you would have called them.
You do not have to call someone everyday... they know you care, they know you love them...
 LIVE your life!
Easier to manage your time if you have fewer interruptions.

Traffic stress you out?
Why? Do you really think that getting all worked up while sitting in a traffic jam helps you in any way?
Leave a bit earlier, take a different route, or kick back, crawl along as best you can and listen to a good book on the car sound system, crank up the tunes, sing along.
I’ve had days where I prayed for a longer commute because I was really engrossed in a book on tape or just rockin out and singin my song.
Works for me.
My blood pressure never goes up because the other drivers are nuts. I love the no pressure zone that I choose to stay in and my happy place ~
I have no space in my head for that foolishness.
There are idiots on the road, always have been always will be.
I just watch out and avoid them best I can.
I could go down this path a long way my friends.
But I will close with a quick review.

First decide how much stress you want in your life. Some folks thrive on stress.. actually like it... accept that fact.

Second, de-stress your life in big and small ways, always. STOMP.

Third, accept that some stress is a natural consequence of being alive.

Fourth, Say NO more often. It is all about choices.
Fifth, instead of making yourself crazy, laugh at how crazy it can get.

And Lastly, know that you are in charge of the quality of your life.
STOMP.

The fire is burning brightly with thoughts on the wind to all who gather here... We are together in thoughts and prayers ... Sending hope in healing on the winds to all who gather here and hugs on the gentle breezes to my kola, Kelly Two Wolves in Custer SD this morning...

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL...My #51 the Beast IS

NOTICE THOSE INITIALS
ON THAT CHEEK?
SES
that's meeee~
My #1 Godson
#51 The BEAST
of
THE BOBCATS
 RADFORD HIGH SCHOOL
"Are ya ready for some football"

It's that time of the year... those youngsters and oldsters are out there sweatin, gettin bruised up and training like crazy for America's number one sport:
FOOTBALL

Oh boy... here we go, T.V's will be tuned in, doritos bought, beer on hand, Mt. Dew, Coke too... volumes turned up, arm chair quarterbacks at the ready, cell phone in hand, text finger ready...

And last night in a small town in Virginia a huge rival took place!
 AND
MY #1 Godson took the field for the first time on the Varsity Team
as a proud
BOBCAT...
against the Pulaski County Cougars
Yep,
Radford HS Bobcat #51 = THE BEAST
I tried my best to get a flight to surprise him for his first game, but it didn't work out, but I know he felt me right there in his heart and on his cheek!
Sure would have loved to have been down there on the field with my camera in hand to catch some great shots of the team.
Figured I could have "talked my way" on the field while promising the coach some "wicked cool" shots in trade for a jersey!
What a deal I reckon!
Friday Night Football
Wow, that evokes strong memories...
Home town feel, nothing quite like it~
Do you remember?
The sense of community, of fellowship, of town rivals before gang activities that bore guns/drugs/threats of safety... so much has changed through the generations and the years.
So many times I have watched that television show of
Friday Night Lights
small towns across this nation where folks show up and show out to watch the youth play football!
The Main Event.
Here in Tampa we have trouble filling the stadium for the bucs... seems past performances and the economy is making it more difficult for folks to rally around their team... Not sure which is worst:
the economy vs. the team
Sure would be grand to have a team worth rooting for again though! Here, there, somewhere folks are gearing up...
Washington Redskins, Eagles, Dallas, Bears, Vikings, Dolphins, 49ers, Bengels, Saints, Giants, Bucs, Jets, Chargers, Falcons, Baltimore, Kansas City, USF, Gators, Carolina, Steelers,
uhhh, lets' see, gosh it's been awhile
I'm drawing a blank here... LOL
You get the idea, it's
time for some
FOOTBALL
pigskin
the time of year where men/boys/girls
run back and forth/tackle maim/hurt each other
on a field and make hugE  huge
HUGE SUMS OF MONEY in the NFL/AFL while
others go shopping on Sundays so they don't have to watch it!!!
AND
millions of dollars are spent on advertising during those times...
dratz, I wish I had invented advertising
I'm cracking myself up this morning already!!!

Remember when? Got stories to share here of those memories with us? I would love to see them!

We do love a good rival on that I am certain, and from what I hear... last night in Virginia there was a rival indeed... the battle of the "bridges" as those Bobcats had to cross the New River Bridge to venture into "Cougar Country" for the game!
They were expecting 10,000 to show out for that game of High School Football last night!
That is more people than the population there.
And "Oh what a night" it was...

The stakes were high: who would claim the "bridge" (The New River Bridge that separates the two counties, the two teams)/the bragging rights?
THE SCORE:
BOBCAS 32 - COUGARS 29
with 4:29 left in the game and the Clougars have the ball... the tension mounts...
My phone is blowing up with texts...
Word comes in that my Godson is "limping badly" but has been in the entire game (that darn knee)
and then we are down to 59 seconds and
and
THE BOBCATS GET THE FOOTBALL!!!
AND
THE BOBCATS WIN
THEY OWN THE BRAGGING RIGHTS
AND
 ~ THE BRIDGE~
THE phone rings and the hollering
I hear is incredible...
OMG
 ~ I am exhausted ~
Sure would have loved to see my Godson ring a bell or ten last night ~
BUT
One thing is certain my friends

It's football season!
All across our great nation, from the little kids suiting up, shoulder pads on they are running with wild abandon and having a ball;, to college games and the NFL, the fans scream, the tailgaters revel in the day, while some of us take to our couches. We sit quietly while some holler and yell just knowing that our voices are heard through the wires...

So for this first game last night: what a game it was... I had my BOBCATS t-shirt on... and I waited and I waited to hear the results... right here from FL... tried to get a flight to surprise him, but that didn't work out ...  but I was there in spirit from right here on my couch... you would have thought I was on that field... whew, I am tired... and those kids went home across the New River Bridge with a trophY AND BRAGGING RIGHTS!
THEY OWN THE BRIDGE...
heehe... I've crossed that New River Bridge many a time myself!
So has COB...
~ ~ ~  ~ /^\
D'Vante is powerful, he is focused and I would not want to be hit on a field by him, no way no how, no day! I stay in his heart though, that makes me as powerful as he is... ah, it's good to be that strong ~

On the field, he is a force to be reckoned with.

The spirit of the Bobcat
 *(NOTE TO RADFORD HIGH SCHOOL)
please contact D'Vante's Godmother for permission to use this blog/photographs ... cos' I just know you are going to want it for this years anual/aka yearbook
Just a thought:

The Bobcat represents patience... imagine that, patience among young kids!
Warriors of all ages, little and big, on a football field, kids just beginning to discover the wonderment of life, living and all that is and will be. The Bobcat although a rather solitary creature, (no wonder kids hole up in their rooms with music blaring!), is also quite a playful and powerful character, serving as a great reminder for all of us not to take things or ourselves too seriously at times.

This totem and this Radford Virginia team reminds us to be fully aware, to be present right here, right now; to be purposefully present, to be mindful knowing that in order to get what we want we must be willing to plan.
To get what we really want we must adapt our thinking, expand our knowledge, and above all else we must be respectful of all people and all things. {Read that again, slowly players}

To live the best life possible on the field and in our lives we must believe in the power of self, the power of love, the power of kindness and faith.

Yet a powerful reason that our educators must have the strength of warriors, the kindness of Mother Teresa and the patience of saints...

With that said:

GO BOBCATS; Play your hearts out, Do your best...

When your games are over, shake hands with your opponents, hug your brothers on the field.
Look to the stands and show your thanks to those who love and support you always!
Raise your helmets, beat your chest, look to the heavens, the Creator, the Universal Oneness
and give a
 "thumbs up"...
just take the time to show them some love, win/loss/tie.

Remember who you are, why you are where you are, hold on to faith that you will be all that you dare to dream....
FOCUS, play, pray, practice, patience
study hard...Believe
"who loves ya baby"{{{to Pluto and back}}}
Remember,
YOU are the Bobcats!

 The spirit of the Bobcat asks that you dig deep, Look deep within yourself, discover all that you want and need to become the best you;
living with honor and dignity and truth.
I expect great things from all of you and from all of us each and every day that we are blessed to live in this great country of ours.
Those there in Radford Virginia... the kids at Radford High School;
those BOBCATS...
the adults filling the bleachers supporting them and,
all of us....
Believe in the power of your dreams Bobcats...
and
NEVER EVER EVER GIVE UP OR GIVE IN ~
I'll be waiting for my #51 Jersey for the "Godmother" rooting for the Radford Bobcats from here in Florida ~ Pass that to the coach and Principal

STOMP with gratitude that we are... and that we stand UNITED... with an attitude of gratitude ~

Taking The Leap ~ Sometimes it feels like a lightning Strke

Brilliant
INTENSE
Scary at times
Mind Boggling
JOLTING
Riveting at times too
Great Changes can Sometimes Make you Feel like This
SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO #1 GODSON
GO BOBCATS IN RADFORD VIRGINIA WHERE
MY GODSON
D'Vante #51 TAKES THE FIELD TONIGHT
FOR FOOTBALL
GO BOBCATS!

I bought myself a bottle of suntan lotion this week... the kind that is an intensifier... yep just went right to the store in the dreary rain and purchased it...
then
Went outside and pointed it to the sky:
Holding it up proudly: showing it to the great sky
SHOUTING:
"See this??? Enough of the rain, the clouds, the dreariness already!!!
See this???
C'mon now... let's get the sun out here...
NOW
Well
fat lot of good that did me yesterday as the "scattering" continued into the night...
SO
this morning
I started my day with my thoughts and then
got my $10.00 bottle of intensifier and pointed it again
upward and said
"Ok, Ok, now... Let me show this to you again...
SUN SUN SUN C'MON NOW... SEE THIS BOTTLE
INTENSIFIER... C'MON NOW"
and
"Here comes the sun"

BUT
then the clouds and the grey came back...
and the scattering returned...

OK, so I'll get that lotion out there again, maybe I'll just sit it out and let it stay...
and ultimately
it will get the message to the Universe
that we have had enough rain...
Dancin in the rain, ok, I'll do that if I have to!

Thinking about changes today...
Read a funny thing on Facebook yesterday;
made me laugh so hard that I had to re-post it to friends!
It said:
"I'm making some changes in my life... so if you don't hear from me, you are among the changes being made"

Sometimes major changes come about when we are busy doing other things...
they can hit as powerfully as  lightning striking over the  waters of the ocean;
sometimes they are awe-inspiring, having been thought through in great detail...
SOMETIMES
they are so intense and beautiful at the same time we can't look at it with a straight eye... it's almost too beautiful, too sacred... as if we are looking into something that we are not really suppose to see so straight on...
With great reverence with avert our eyes out of respect...
Are you feeling me here?

And
sometimes... you can be out in the yard weeding a garden, and a major life change just come over you,
JUST LIKE THAT
(snap, it all comes together in that split moment)
(yes... you know who you are)_
and your life is changed forever more!
AND
that's when the adrenalin rushes and you feel it to your very core...
Your life takes on new urgency, new meaning, a quick pulse, a quick pace happens
RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW
you have to move, you know it is
"now or never"
an urgency of thunder/lightning
that has moved
you into action!
It becomes a defining moment!
YOUR moment.

Congratulations ~
You have just come into YOU
Your life
Your moment in time
Intense

Leap and the Net Will Appear

the ship is setting sail but this time you are at the helm... What a fascinating journey you are about to take...
Master of your own destiny...
Responsible for laughs, tears, joys,
oh happy day

SEE IT RECEIVE IT BELIEVE IT
If someone can encourage you to reach...
REACH baby, reach for the moon... and look at the handful of stars you have right there in your hands...

Live well
Laugh so much your face hurts
and
OUTSHINE THE SUN

Now that's what I'm talkin about today!
Here's to your wildest dreams
and most powerful fearless realities

This type of moment is difficult to describe... hard to grasp if you have not ever experienced it first hand... It sort of reminds me of death in that way...
Unless you have
"walked the walk"
 you can't really
"talk the talk"
many who are regulars on this page will know exactly what I mean with that statement!
There are "defining moments" in our lives... those times when life takes on an entirely different meaning in our very "nervous system" in our hearts... a moment and time when
mind/body/spirit find their way to our very center and it is all lined up as the great Universe means for it to be
In balance/in harmony
Usually borne out of necessity, out of great sorrow, near death experience,
(out of attending Tony Robbins seminars for some even)
or
out of a true recognition that this is YOUR LIFE
your time to live the life you want, the life that you dream and desire...
STOMP
Have you ever been so moved by music, a sunset, an experience that it takes your very breath away?
So moved by bearing witness to someone's else that you find you have trouble speaking/goose bumps on the arms/head/inside and out?
So touched by the human condition that there are no other things in the world you can compare it to?
Have you ever stood in total amazing grace?
Have you ever hit your knees and felt the wetness of your tears as you humbly said
"thank you"?
and

in the time it takes to hear the thunder roll
YOU SEE THE PROFOUNDNESS OF THE LIGHTNING FLASH ACROSS THE BLACK SKY
and in that very moment
you know in your heart, your spirit, your soul

There's a Change goin to come!

YOU are the CHANGE
Sometimes in that moment:
That very instant, you know as no one will ever know
that the CHANGE IS RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW
and it is that very moment
that things will never be the same
YOU have taken the first step or the leap
to a new journey
in a new light!
IT is your Defining moment if you know what I'm talking about!
And your life has just taken on new meaning and new dimensions beyond your wildest imaginations...
STOMP

either get it
or not
not much room for grey
