The Wild of Monday

It's time to rock n roll into the week, dance on top of the desk, the car, or if you must on your bed... time to let the good times roll if you will with wild imaginations and move the thoughts into action in good or bad ways...

As I read the morning emails I sat letting my imagination roll as Dot/Mom/Cob described her weekend findings: A ground hog at the river in VA that walked toward her with attitude. She shot, she missed. It moved in under the cabin. I cried.  Only later to return home to the smell of "skunk" infiltrating her home, the wild kingdom now following her as I imagined her shooting holes in the floor there on a rampage. I cried again, thinking perhaps I bruised a rib and read on. Doors open, windows open, she then had visions of babies under the house, a community of skunks while groundhogs were having a party at the river in her absence... what is next in VA, bears perhaps or maybe just Kamryn on a sugar overload?

Hello Monday, you sure do look good to me! Sun shining, final proofing of Down The Hallway slow but sure, line by line, word by word... as visions of skunks, groundhogs Mom with a gun now stomping through her home trying to scare the critters off go bouncing through my mind. Only to see through the tears of laughter as the day goes full tilt and zooms by here at the end of September the last day of this fast paced month.

Hard to imagine tomorrow begins October in all her glory, but what a day to end on, only to finish that email, jump on facebook reading my buddy Ken Hess is eating Liver n Onions... Enough to flip the stomach if ever their was something so early in the day after such a read. I'm sure if he or Joe Graff lived in VA they would slay the ground hog and stew up the skunk just cos' they are that good!

But for now, Dot/Mom/Cob is left with Kamryn and chocolate, with foot stomping and music, and heaven help us her gun.  She is by now in the pool at the YMCA or volunteering at the Nursing Home weaving great stories to those she volunteers with, and hatching a plan! Perhaps she will sneak the residents out for the day and go on a groundhog hunt, or a skunk search... Wild times in the little town with an escort by the Sheriff lights and sirens to boot!
I can see it now.

The town will toast her, will proclaim the day with her being the SKUNK slayer. they will not have to wait for groundhog day to announce spring as she will be standing on the streets with the dead groundhog in hand! Maybe the whole community can get involved in this and celebrate! Even the local church can put up a sign like the one I found here...

And in other news today... oh wait, that  news bad or is scary stuff, this is much funnier, let's just stay with this! Start the week of right, with laughter, with humor, with imagination and move from there.

Yep, that's all I have to say about that.

Somewhere something awful has happened, something bad is happening... and for that we all offer up hope, prayers and thoughts of healing.

For those serving our great Nation, we support and we offer gratitude.

Walk in beauty,

Friday, this day in September

Just for Today:

Just for today I will mirror joy to all I see.
Today I will offer a warm smile and a kind word to everyone I encounter.
On this day, in this moment I will have a humble, grateful heart.
Just for today, I will remember all who love me, and make the time to drop a card, make a phone call or wrap them in a hug; here and in the spirit world.

Today, I will think only positive thoughts. I will wear a smile on my face. I have so much to smile about ~

This day I will radiate well being.

Today will be the best day ever because I will not allow it to be less.
This day will hold some magic; oh, my who am I kidding; this day is all about magic!
I will make the time for special moments and celebrate life in big and small ways, in all ways.

Today I will remember all the gifts the Universe have given me.
Today, I will give my gifts, my talents freely to make the world sparkle like a holiday.

Just for today, I will put aside worry, sorrow, concerns and worn out attitudes.

On this day I will be my best self all day, every single moment.

Today will not be wasted.
Today is indeed the first day of the rest of my life.
I embrace all the possibilities that this day offers; and the possibilities are endless.

I await the rising sun with a full heart, a purposeful intention to be glad that I am creating a day worth living ~

And for this I give thanks ~ and so it is!

Wado ~ to all my relations and to you
Have a blessed, remarkable day. May your week-end get started with "Today"...

The fire is burning brightly with thoughts on the wind of hope in healing ways, love on each breeze that finds you... STOMP and know that you are all that you need to be ... and you are thought of fondly ~

Rainy Tuesday

Hello Tuesday... as the coffee is hot, the rain falls in the sunshine state. Liquid sunshine it is. The gutters flowing and the rhythmic sounds almost of a drum as I gaze at the pool now at the top of the line here. A sinus infection now seeming to thrive on the rain as it pounds with the gutter sounds, leaving me to wonder if they are one of the same while the 4 leggeds and I were astonished to hear what sounded to be a tree falling behind the pool! The bark fest began, as I looked to see nothing but rain, grass that is green, no movement, no nothing! The barks continued resonating in my brain as I continued to look for something, anything to account for the "thud".  Maybe something fell from the skies along with the rain, a windfall of sorts that I will discover later when all is dry, the sun returning to shine on whatever it is or was.

For now, the pool will wash the deck in no time at all as the little ones and I tuck in on the couch for a day of quiet in the liquid sunshine state... RAIN

wishing all who are out there a safe commute on the roads, a warm place to be out in the states where the cold has found you as you gather your resources for the coming months. We are beginning the gathering season of 2013... how did it get to be fall so soon?

The question I seem to ask each year now that I ponder it.

To each season there are great changes, it is as it is intended it seems.

Blessings on the raindrops from here to everyone and everything everywhere.

The proofing of Down The Hallway continues... Remind me when I say the word "and" to just slap myself. LOL

Monday's Thought to get your motor running

Monday morning... that day where most say, "oh no not you again so soon", and a few are so excited that they Dance on the tops of their cars and the tables just giddy with the thoughts of another Monday (Joe Graff comes to mind out in INDIANA)...

Fall has made its official debut as Wounded Knee in South Dakota has weighed in with the first frost, folks are saying they are debating that furnace, wondering if they should bundle up or turn it on for the first time as the temps dip down and chills are being felt. The sun is rising a bit later, the dark falling sooner, change is in the air... as are the feelings, the moods of others it seems.  The big Fruit Moon pulled on emotions, tides once again as the night sky was bright and beautiful.

The first thing I saw today was the above picture on "Do No Harm" and I had my first laugh as I thought about it... realizing that many of us live by that in our professions. Do No Harm. It spills over into our very lives in how we live the way we walk, the essence of our lives. We often forget our own boundaries in the process of taking a stand of saying balancing doing no harm with hearing enough or too much... or taking too much on or taking shit.

Life is funny that way... Do No Harm, but take no shit. As I thought more about that sign, I remembered back in the day of hospitals, ER's and talk behind the big trash receptacles with staff about that very thing.  Talks with families who had enough but did not want to do harm, yet did not have the language nor the courage to stand up to another in stating what needed to be said for fear of hurting another. When feelings get involved it is hard to make points without emotions. When conversations are tempered for fear of reactions the essence of the conversation at times get lost.  It happens in the work place, with patients, clients, families and friends. Miscommunications, taking on the pain angst, emotions of another while losing the point that was intended...

Life is too short ... for complications.

Today's inspiration
>>> Do what makes you smile, makes you happy, makes you laugh <<<

Do that often.

The good news is;
Monday is here, fall is in the air the leaves on the East Coast are showing their most remarkable colors up North... Change is in the air as I sit realizing I use run on sentences... Use the word "and" far to many times ... The final proof of Down The Hallway is underway. It may take a bit longer than I first thought as I find I am an "and and and " long long winded sentence sayer and just keep it going until you will be out of breath needing oxygen before you find the period, until you see someone walk into my office and then gasp wondering who it is as Charmaine was due, but then and ...

So you see... I have some cleaning up of my sentences now to do!!!!

However, I have my head in the game, or in the revisions, edits rather AND I am in it, on it and doing it!

Hang in there folks, stay tuned...

Do your thing, as others watch in amazement your mad crazy skills wherever you are, whatever you are doing!
YOU were born to stand out...

Have an outstanding week

Sunday ... prayers goin strong for all for Peace

Hello everyone and everything on this the first day of fall 2013, where the first frost has already hit Wounded Knee South Dakota...
Where folks are already talking about the bad winter that lays ahead of them as they now begin to join with the bushy tails in gathering their resources for the dark months that are soon to be on us... That time thing sure has a way of flying by...  May this day allow you to slow down a bit, to enjoy the silence you find, the laughter you hear or generate from your own being, the ability to heal from within and the desire to soar above it all.

Rain, sun, rain sun, rainbows somewhere ....
The first day of fall, a new season somewhere to enjoy, things to see and do... For many a day of football, tailgating and good times...
Let the good times roll as stress rolls off the backs as you embrace this day... Many blessings to all.
The fire is lit, the sage is in the air with prayers going up ... May we know peace, understanding compassion while standing strong during the storm on this day and all days.

Our prayers and thoughts for those at the Navy Annex, lives lost, wounded and the many who are trying to wrap

 their heads around this tragedy...

When you are on your back... look UP, then >get up

The view is rather interesting when you are  close to the bottom... you see all the latest fashion of 'sneaks' being worn... You marvel at the folks wearing "flip-flops" walking great distances doing long walks... and talk about their feet that must be on fire from the walking! But oh what a view sometimes when we are on our backs if we just look around! Sometimes the fun, the colors, the view if we only look UP! Sometimes we can take great shots lookin' up from being on our backs!

Patches and Gypsy are on a tear this morning, around the pool, cutting those edges mighty close I'm thinkin as me and my coffee enjoy each other. Sure would hate to interrupt my coffee to save a little pom this morning.
Jeepers on the other hand is in his condo, I'm sure dreading what is to come today as the bandage on his little knee/leg come off. I know I am dreading it, as now it will be exposed and oh how I hope he does not get cocky trying to use it to walk, or gnaw on. He continues to turn up his nose at food, using his eyes to let us know of the pain, and his desires, now that can keep a human guessing and close to the ground from time to time.
....
Well at least when you hit rock bottom, you know you can either stay there, or STAND UP...
Kinda like that dead end street I'm thinkin.
Revise your thinking; a dead end street is just a place to turn around!
Still think they should change those signs:
"TURN AROUND PLACE"
heehe
We need a switch like that in our brains...
wait
we can command our brains to use that switch!
When you control your thoughts, your feelings and you don't like the way they or someone makes you think, feel or act or re-act
STOP
CHANGE THE FEELING
TURN IT AROUND
Re-GAIN YOUR CONTROL
STAND UP
STOMP

When you hit rock bottom, there’s only two ways to go,
straight up, or sideways!

Wynonna Judd says it best in her song:
 "Rock Bottom."
A dead end street IS just a place to turn around.
As she sings, with such gusto, the good news is:
when you get down to nothing, you got nothing to lose
(except perhaps those who love you, the faithful four-legged who adores you, the mood of the day, the sun shining in your heart, your humor, your thirst for life, your .... you get the idea).

I love that song!
When all else fails, attitude IS everything.
Rock Bottom ain’t no place to be.
"When the sky is the limit up on easy street,
ROCK BOTTOM AIN'T NO PLACE TO BE!!!"

There are days when at every turn of the bend we can feel thwarted.
It can feel like the universe has entered a conspiracy to land us flat on our face or heavily on our butts.
Guess what?
It is not bad karma catching up with us
. It is not a kid or your four-legged or spouse or your boss:
 out to get YOU
and
treat you badly or make you feel like crap or angry
with his/her antics of silliness or rudeness or meanness,
or someone peeing in your Wheaties
to ruin your mood, your day or YOUR LIFE.

And no, in the next life we will not be assigned to turn the hand crank on the Queen Many to atone for past mistakes.

It is only this moment in time that is out of whack
or
YOU are out of whack in that moment in time.
Hang in there, This too shall pass.
Not all days will be like this.
 Keep your head up.
The road maybe bumpy today.
Pull out that birth certificate of yours... no where, I mean no where on it does it say: Life will be fair, no where does it say you will always like what others do say or act!
YOU cannot control the actions, words or deeds of others,
but
YOU can control YOU...
Rock Bottom ain't no place to be!

Forgive and forget YOURSELF and others... Humans do human things... SH** happens as they say in the real world... STAND UP and get over it, live a life you can be proud of ...

Ever find yourself stuck in a moment like that.

Take heart, shake it off.

Keep some perspective, OK it may take a lot of perspective!

Step back and know that as awful as it feels, we do have the capacity to change the moment.
Or, we might choose to just ride it out. BUT know, in the riding of "it" we may run over someone or some things that we later regret... we may get ourselves so worked up along the ride that later we misconstrue why in the world we took the ride in the first place ~ Damn those choices sometimes!

Let the chips fall.
Honor YOUR resiliency.
In the light of tomorrow the sun will return. I hope we are here to see it, and that those we love are as well.

Even when our worst fear comes to pass, it comes, it eventually passes.

Keep in mind that we are not addressing every instance in life, just the constellations of cluster troubles.

You know, those Murphy’s Law days that slap us silly.

When all that can go wrong, does?
Just let it play out. It will play itself out one way or the other!
Tomorrow when this brief crises passes you will be able to look back and laugh at the entire exercise in futility that grappling with that moment in time was.
What has folks all "jacked up" today will not be remembered or even thought of by anyone a few hours later... so why get your butter in a flutter? I'm thinkin...
Feelin me here?
As catastrophic as the moment seemed, as promised, it passed. Let the laughter begin.
I mean really really laugh! If you allow and choose to let the "rock bottom" moment take over those great and wonderful experiences... well "Shame on YOU" what a stupid choice you will be making!

Most of the time, I can just step back and just let the proverbial hand cart carry it south, much further south than Florida.

Grab a seat on the roller-coaster that we call life and hang on. These small setbacks are just that; small setbacks.
Did I mention that I can't stand rollercoasters??? So rather than the rollercoaster ... for me I just stay in my "no pressure zone" works great for me!

At the “end of your rope”?
Tie a knot and hang on tight.
I can say with absolute certainty that this is just one more opportunity to climb back to the top. Try to take the time to notice all the lovely and interesting things on your way to the top, meet new folks.... you might need them next time the fall starts ~
We have all “been there and done that”.
Stay focused on the good stuff. And my friends there is some absolutely "sick" and "wicked stuff" to focus on!

Give no power to the everyday junk when it is scattered in your path. See it for what it is and move on.

It’s all about attitude!
Attitude is everything. Live BIG! Practice positive thinking. Just go on and slap yourself silly when a less than positive thought enters your head!
Pinch yourself til you bruise if you even utter a negative word out loud ~
You are worth it and those that love you will be healthier and happier because of it.

STAND UP, STOMP, rush into your day with gratitude and gladness.... when you find your butt on the ground and feeling out of sorts... be sure and notice the wonderment from that angle before you choose to STAND UP! Amazing sights to see while you are down there, but that concrete is hard baby, real hard.... I choose to STAND, to embrace life with all its idiosyncrasies, all its moods, colors, thunder/lightning and rainbows ~

What's new with you today? Of course we all want to know....
