Remarkable things happen... Kindness being one of them

Little HOPE
and
Lily the North American Black Bear

Good and blessed Tuesday morning
Coffee is ready, are YOU?

That picture just melted my heart...

BETWEEN THEN \above
and
recently(on the left)
and
NOW
(on the right)

Those two pictures took my breath
away
AS THEY WALK AWAY
knowing
we've been changed forever
by them
and
by those who have touched
our lives

And,
it reminds me of so many things, and so much that I have witnessed since January
when a North American Black Bear
Named
Lily
gave the world
HOPE
thanks to the brilliance
of
Dr Lynn Rogers
and his assistant
Sue Mansfeld
in
Ely MN
when they decided to put a live cam in Lily's den.

The world became "captivated", "captured"
and all too quickly realized just how
little control humans have on a day to day
basis!
And oh boy, we do not like not having some sense of control on a daily basis!!! LOL

The fan page on Facebook now is over 115 thousand fans, with a few hundred real loyals from across the globe, checking in with their cheery "good mornings" or
"good nights" daily!
They keep up with each other through posts, with happenings on the bears,
with lively auctions to raise monies for the
for the WRI (wildlife research institute)
They've learned much from each other, share their families of birth and choice.
They get riled up over things, passionate over things...
Some get .... uh I think the word is
"snarky" at times
or at least are told that
by some of the
"Lily MODerators
aka the Lily patrol who monitor the page"
Most of the MODerators are just like everyone else tho', bear lovers who now monitor for the "uglies" the "argumentative", the too "passionate" at times comments and posts...
I would NOT want that job for nuthin I tell nope not NUTHIN, no nutz, no berries, not even a good ole steak would lure me to that job!
Some get mad; some get hurt, some get fiercely protective of others... some do what is known as
"lurking" they are there but you don't hear much from them, but "lurking" is a good thing when you bid on auction items... it keeps people aware you are there and then you surprise them with your bid! too funny I tell ya!!!
AND
the one thing that is sure:
ALL LOVE THEM SOME
NORTH AMERICAN BLACK BEARS!
So,
then someone comes up with this great idea of auctions and "virtual tickets"
and folks start donating things for the great wins~
Auctions go nutz I tell ya, just off the chain crazy...
HOPE's scat is taken by a winning bid
of
$1,000 by a gentle spirit of a man named MOE aka "Mato Oyate Kola" a man in Duluth
yep, that is s**t we're talkin
SCAT, but when it belongs to HOPE
it comes out like the cutest and sweetest  little berries and nut looking things
and MOE loses all reason
and
$1,000 to the bears!
They auction wind chimes, home made pillow topps (really a hit since so many of us spend most of the time ROTFLOOR
LAUGHING OUR BUTTS OFF)

The I get my sissy 2 wolves touched to her heart after she hears through the mocassin telegraph of darling Sara Bear being killed and spirit moves her to make a hand painted feather in her memory... and she donates it for auction, and then something else, she is "captivated".
OH my the folks went crazed on that one too.
AND something else from her gifted hands is coming... and folks are going to go
BEARLY BEAR-ZERK

Those bears do have us captivated...
Acts of kindness, generousity and spirit are alive and well.
Healing Heartaches is auctioned and the bidder gets an autographed copy
at
@250.00
WHOA... am I honored!
and the
BEARS score bigtime once again!
ONE more time we are spending much time on the floor,
here come the photos of doc and Sue and the bears, and folks imagine their walls now adorned with autographed photos, sun visors, ribbons with bare hare/hair, and all sorts of heirlooms that their families will use against them as they commit them to bear institutions someday!
er I mean museums dedicated to the BEARS!!!

i'VE found there are a few angels on that page disguised as regular folk too.
Now you know I keep it real on this page, and I don't want you to think I see only roses,
so yes, sadly I will admit there are thorns among those few roses...
BUT
a few wild angels are there...
AH, how I love wild angels
who roll with bear spirit

Recently a woman named Rita was with her Mom Bernadine who died in her bed secondary to complications of a long fight with Alzheimer's disease. She was in her 90's and Rita was her full-time companion/caregiver; providing round the clock care...
At the very end of Bernadines' life, Alzheimer's released its grip of her, allowing once gnarled hands to become flowing and free, extending to take her beloved daughters hand.
She was able to look into her daughters' eyes with focus, being able to see her clearly one more time and to hear her daughter say how very much she loved and would miss her.
Bernadine was able to "pucker" her tender lips to provide a good bye kiss of gratitude to her dear daughter Rita; more than many ever get the opportunity to experience at the very end of life claimed by Alzheimer's' and then to rest peacefully as Rita lay beside her, and gently move from her daughter's loving care to that of the Creator.
During all of this; Rita has given up so much to provide and care for her Mom, she is now exhausted; has gone through all financial resources... and wonders how she will find the where-with-all to even get to the final resting place of her Mom, how she will find clothes that still fit! I know that the Universe will provide, she only has to set her intention, her focus and ask... It is there.
BUT
during it
she received an angel from Lily the Black Bears' page.
A source of light and kindness through another from the page stepped forward by the name of
Glenda H.; a wild angel with bear spirit to be certain; and wouldn't ya just know it, she hails from Ely MN!!!
Well, seems Glenda, just reached out and lifted this woman up... and offered a gentle landing with unbridled concern and caring, compassion and kindness.
A canle burning light of brightness to an exhausted caregiver with a heavy heart.
Glenda reached out; and took the hand of a fellow Lily lover and fan of HOPE
and in doing so,
she instilled HOPE where there was pain and loss
and offered
HOPE
where that had only been sadness
Glenda jumped as a warrior would and put up a discussion on the Facebook fan page of Lily the North American Black Bear page:
She told all of Rita, a loyal fan; her love for her Mom who was then actively dying. She lit a
"virtual candle" and asked others to join in and do the same for Rita and to post a message or two for her.
Quickly after, Bernadine died peacefully in the loving arms of her daughter; a woman who lived a long life, with her daughter there, after giving her those precious gifts at the end.
And an exhausted Rita began getting these messages, about candles being
"lit for you"
and she had no idea what that was about as she sat in the darkness of her disbelief that her Mom was really dead/gone, and she was exhausted.
BUT
she began to click on this candle thing...
and all of a sudden, there were messages from not one or two,
but from many
and
each with a message
and right there with each
a candle was lit and burning brightly
with her name on it!
Lily the North American Black Bear
Gave us HOPE
HOPE
extended to those on that page
to light the way
for one who was feeling alone and in the dark

The kindness of Glenda (the little good witch) had spread like a fire that burns it all clean, with regards, respect, and honoring of Rita and her Mom Bernadine from across the globe.

All because a bear named Lily
and a cub
named
HOPE
brought a group of folks together
who are walking a path never ever walked before and are stepping beyond
"self"
and into the realm of
"other"

and so
It is good.

For that I give thanks,
and so
It is!

Honoring and thanking the
Wisdom Keepers, the Ancestors
the spirits
 on this most remarkable day.
STOMP

The fire is burning brightly the embers are hot, with loving thoughts on the wind to all who are in the prayer bowl, all who enter here.

LEAN INTO IT ~

Leanin
Into
It

Brilliant fall MOrning world!
Coffee is yummy
yesterdays' sun was brilliant
but
wooo weeee that Lake was
brrrrr chilly
hahaha

THE EAGLES
knew when we arrived
and after another 2 boats went on their way
they ARRIVED
to greet us with all their beauty
AND
then
two of em sat side by wonderful side
for the longest time
AND THEN
took flight at the same time coming right towards
the boat!!!
FANTASTIC I tell ya, just fantastic

Today thoughts are short/sweet
courtesy of
THE EAGLES

Lean IN
always
The way through anything is to lean in to it
sometimes it may feel like you are goin against the wind, and that is because YOU ARE
sometimes it may feel like a free fall
it may feel like a spiral dance
it could feel like you are soaring
when you feel the warmth and support of those who light your way
something may
"click"
and you know that freedom
and that
YOU
control your feelings/thoughts

Today is the beginning of the week; a new day for ya!

A wonderful day if that is what you choose ~

A magnificent day to remember the Elders, the wisdom keepers! Think of ways to honor the memories, perhaps writing down some of the sayings, the thoughts that come to mind... they may bring you joy on days that you find the "push/pull" difficult, those wisdom keepers are our foundations.

Lean in friends, STAND UP, and soar knowing that they are but a heart beat away, always

The fire is burning brightly, the smell of sage/tobacco/cedar fill the air, sending thoughts on the wind to all

Sending you Magic on The Winds

Mountain Lillies
To Start Your Day

Saturday Morning Magic
on the winds to all ~
Still dark, coffee hot, just waiting on the sun to jump up and greet the trees and me.
Oh how I love these mountain lillies, gifted to me by a client last week... what a fragrance added to their rich beauty!
Mountain Lillies and White Roses, now what a combo that is put together in a vase!
Flowers, beautiful flowers, wild in meadows or here in the yard to admire and watch the butterflies dance and play around and on ~ each a fine gift.
So here ya go, magic on the winds, I am sharing my flowers with you this morning!

I remember someone saying once,
"give me flowers while I'm living cos I can't smell them when I'm dead"!
Maybe today you'll find the reason to just get out there and buy yourself some fresh flowers and put them in a vase
Just because you know
YOU
are worth it!

"Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into."
~Henry Beecher, Life Thoughts, 1858

Just maybe if you gift yourself today, and/or someone else, you will add the soul in the arranging and in the enjoyment!

This week we've talked about the children, the "labels", we've taken a walk down memory lane for many of our readers... and the comments have been wonderful.
The one thing I've also found over the years is how little boys and girls love flowers as well!
They love playing in the dirt, planting them, watering them and watching the growth!
BUT
they also love receiving flowers as well.
It is quite amazing that we as adults; men and women love being surprised with flowers
(at least most do) that is.
I remember not so long ago being told of a woman who had recently died, her husband had bought her flowers often during their 35 year marriage. On her stone he had a rose engraved as well.
Seems that throughout the marriage, the woman never shared with her husband that she
DID NOT like flowers! He never knew... but her daughter did... and when picking out the headstone, she had to laugh to herself as she recalled all the many years and all the many flowers! She didn't have the heart to tell Dad, and just keep quiet as he proudly ordered that last rose to be engraved on the stone.
Even in death, this woman had one final rose from her beloved husband who never had a clue that she had no love of the many flowers throughout that marriage; she never wanted to hurt his feelings I guess.
BUT
maybe he just never picked the right flowers to knock her socks off or to change her mind is my way of looking at it!
She may have changed her mind if she ever saw Mountain Lillies at their finest or some of the remarkable flowers arranged "just so"
I would like to think!

It's Saturday my friends, all the little ones are out and running wild,
NO SCHOOL!!!
Rules set only by the parents,
labels only on soups and shirts and shoes!
YIPEE oh happy day.
Let the sun shine.
Let's OUTSHINE the SUN
and enjoy each breath, each moment, each new feel of fall that is in the air!

Time to get that great feeling of
YOU
going today!
I wish you enough
that you will step out of your comfort zone
and reach beyond the ordinary
and step up
and out
extend a hand to another
a pleasant smile
or hello
to
a
stranger
or
to a friend
Just because you can!

The fire is burning brightly today, with thoughts on the wind for all those who gather here, all who will be seen on tomorrows' list
HOLD up the light and remember those we often list here, and if you need a reminder of them...
Tomorrow a photo for the day
and the names will appear!

This is a page of gentle warriors, those who stand for and with each other, no one stands alone...
We are together on this page, the circle continues.

p.s.
did you hear where the Social Security Administration issued stimulus checks to millions of dead people last year, and also to those inmates??? Then they report that there is no way to get money back from dead people!!!
Now ain't that just amazing?

Fall on Friday ~ woo hoo ~

This one bloomed
this week too ~

Happy Friday world ~ Now it's time to just slow down... rise slowly sun, hang out ... take your time to rise!
Many will say, hurry hurry,
RISE AND SHINE
Let's get this day up and rolling and over...
 c'mon 5:00
and then;
IT'S THE WEEK-END
make it slow and easy
and
PLEASE PLEASE MAKE IS
L  O   N    G

As a matter of fact, I do believe it is a
L   O   N     G
week-end for many
as Monday is that God-awful holiday for most
the one I never have celebrated!

Nope never ever ... used to volunteer to work it as a matter of principal now that I think back.

We sure have had an interactive and wonderful community of
WARRIORS stomping this week in the comments!

We each walk our own path, in our own mocassins, our own tennis shoes, our own high heels, our own unique foot prints.
OUR HEARTS BEAT WITH THE BEAT OF MOTHER EARTH
BUT CANNOT BE SEEN
"Our Hearts Cannot Be Seen" {by a reader}
(as one who commented so beautifully yesterday)
THAT IS THE TRUTH
"the PROOF is IN the PUDDING"
by the way in which we live our lives~

Oh how I love this sacred and special page and that all feel safe enough
to
"sound off"
to
"STAND UP"
to
STOMP

We now have readers in Spain, in Dublin Ireland, in New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, UK, BC, Canada along with those in the USA here often; Warriors of gentle spirit all.
If I left someone out, please let me know in the comments and I will be sure and mention.

Our littlest of warriors are probably STOMPING in school today as it is Friday; all keyed up for the week end, already waiting for the recess and end of day bus, knowing they will have a day off on Monday!
Get ready parents!!!

It's Friday; tonight the high school stadium lights will be on across the states as neighborhoods and communities gather for some "FOOTBALL"; the stands will fill, the hollers will be heard as the kids "suit up" and get their attitudes on, and get ready to "WIN WIN WIN"~
OF COURSE,
The Godmother will be wearing the
Radford VA Bobcat T-shirt and probably cold, but I will be having my cell phone "blowing up" with texts of
Godson D'Vante with knee now in a brace so he can play
and hollering like always
hoping them success tonight~
Heaven help Mom and her healing leg... at least she will be confined to bleacher sitting and not allowed to run the sidelines like she did last night at Kamryn's game; I'm sure her leg thanks her for that!

And so it is good~

Meanwhile there is Olivia up in Maryland who is probably now experiencing cold toes with that neon orange casted foot now that the weather is changing along with the leaves; she has grown tired of this whole thing~ asking "the Mama"
"has it been 6 weeks yet and when is this thing coming off"~

What did we learn in Kindergarden really?
I learned to color, learned Dick and Jane and now that I look back;
I remember this big old pull out drawer where loads of paper was stored... and I remember crawling in there and hiding! Only later in the day to be found by the teacher, and oh how I loved Mrs Huth.
As a matter of fact, as a young woman, I attended her
funeral in Arlington VA
and was handed a black arm band to wear to demonstrate mourning back then.
She was an extroidinary woman
and I was so loved
even if I did hide in that big ole' cabinet/drawer
or whatever it was!!!
Creativitity was fostered.
Did you go to kindergarden?
What did you learn there,
has it served you well in your life?

Kids are truly amazing; most often having no concept of time; we teach that with the many and varied watches we purchase throughout the years; from the time they are little and lose them, throw them away, gift them to friends, and the ones that magically disappear.
We teach patience, and somedays it seems a great undertaking, and then we ourselves see we never learned that lesson so well, as so many adults seem to be challenged in that arena!
We teach our children to have faith; but in hard and sorrowful times our very own faith is challenged, some say they have lost theirs... perhaps but on a shelf, in a drawer, left in the car, or just given away along with personal power for others.
We teach our children to be kind and respectful
yet adults are sometimes not that way, and they allow their children to see that demonstrated
wonder what they are thinking during those times?
We teach our children to not judge others,
yet at times they may be sitting in the other room or in the back seat of a car and witness conversations of adults talking about other relatives or neighbors or the President of the United States, and judging or being critical of a persons' right of choices for their lives.

So much conflict from what is taught to actions...
So much responsibility.
Look within, see the greatness of all living things, the little one that resides within each of us... Foster that child within, love that child, play...
HAVE A PARTY TODAY.

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It's not." Dr Seuss

So in other words, it's Friday... let's let the week-end and good times roll~

"You're off to Great Places! Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting, So... get on your way."
~ Dr Seuss ~

The fire is burning brightly, the tobacco, sage, cedar is sent on the winds of gratitude and thoughts of love and healing ways to all who enter here.
NOW,
STOMP
HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND
AND
LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL~

Beauty all around us ~ Each in its own time ~

This is one of my beautiful
Hibiscus
Fall 2010

In the morning darkness I sit and think of the many and passionate comments of the last couple of days; HOPING with all that I am
that parents across the world who visit here will feel empowered by the words of not only me,
BUT
those who have had similar experiences,
the words of those who lived through
LABELS

One told me that labels work quite well on soups!
Now that I think of it, I think she is absolutely right.
Just imagine, having your taste buds all set for some hot Tomato soup on a fall evening,
getting the pot, the can, your tummy ready...
and opening up
a can of "mushroom cream soup"
LABELLED WRONGLY

Now that would be enough to ruin a perfectly good evening!
And make ya doubt the very company that affixed that label too; making ya just be hesitant to open the next can (for fear of worms or something).

Indeed there is beauty all around us;
in the wandering eyes and googlie eyes of our children, our peers and our Elders.
Those sometimes brief encounters that allow us to look deeply into the eyes and see the soul often occurring at times of deep trust and understanding of
"I will do no harm child"

Rare and special times they are, most kids run wide open from the time they learn to walk I think, powered by something... maybe by spirit and the wind and a zest for life itself.
Like a wild pony feeling the wind in their hair and on their faces, loving to make sounds and feel the freedom that life has bestowed upon them.

We've often watched with wonder at Olivia and Kamryn ... wishing we could bottle their energy, knowing we would be richer than rich, truer than true with the advertisement by just a video of them running and hollering and playing.
Funny
they sleep just as hard as they play
imagine that!
I know some adults that would give about anything for that raw energy that doesn't come from Dunkin Donut or from sugar buzzzes!!!

Notice that form
the
FOCUS
Kids focus when they want to
when they are having fun
when they are passionate
when the feel safe
and
so it is good!
Spoke to an exhausted Kamryn last night, but he still had passion and excitement in that tired little voice as he let me know:
HE made the
"winning tackle of his football game allowing his team to win their game"
Way to go Kamryn #10 of the little Bobcats in Radford Va!!!
Also heard that Mom was running up and down the sidelines like a madwoman, screaming her head off in excitement; forgetting that she was to stay off that healing "shin bone of her leg"
as she "rooted for our boy"
Yelling, hollering, running the sidelines like
Coach COB
and probably is "hoarse" and with aching leg today!
Ah, but it is an exciting football season for those kids in Radford VA, and each week, here I sit in FL
with my "Bobcat" shirt on hollering right along, sure they can hear me in their hearts!

I would offer you this today:

When you are given an opinion, an assessment, a thought:
you can take it, mull it over, keep what is worth keeping and then
throw the rest away!
BUT
Try to not
REACT
or
PANIC
or
accept blindly what someone tells you
YOU
are the the one who controls your life
Beauty
is within
around
and beneath all of us
Look within
and
STAND WITH AMAZING GRACE
As Maya Angelou
once said, and I believe
"when someone shows you who they are, believe them"
AND
then move on, letting your knowledge be your truth.

Kamryn's hand print
UNIQUE AND MOST REMARKABLE
NONE OTHER LIKE IT IN THE WORLD
and for that, I give thanks!
And So It IS!

"Grown people can learn from little children for the hearts of children are pure, therefore the Great Spirit may show to them many things which older people miss"
~ Black Elk ~

Wherever you are today
I wish you enough
Blessings and thoughts on the wind from my home to yours.
The fire is burning and its embers are hot; sage and cedar being sent on the winds to all who gather on this safe page our circle of prayer continues to the many mentioned here; you remember who you are.
