Oprah, what are you doing ....

YO
Baby this is why we DEN
in
Winter
IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!

Brrrrr,

Good morning morning,
you sure do know how to turn on the chill here in the
sunshine state!
The Universe has a fabulous sense of humor
we are warming up for a couple of days here
and then
Brrrr
the cold front is to return so that we can sound like
real "sissies" in comparison to those
in
MN, SD, CO, VA, WI, Canada, England, Spain
and all those really really cold places
where fans of Lily the Black Bear report temps
of below 8 degrees gather on Facebook and
exchange good mornings and send
great thoughts to each other across the winds!~
While I sound like I want cheeze to go with my "whine"
as I tell them I am freezing in Florida!
LOL
Meanwhile
Dr Rogers and Jason are trying to get through 3 feet of snow out in Ely to install Den Cams so that the world can sit mesmerized and watch Lily and HOPE breathe
again this winter!
Visit the
so you too can become captured by Lily and HOPE
and visit their gift shop online~

So here we are
almost the end of the week.
HOW ARE YOU?
Out there with the masses of folks getting tangled in
traffic, decorations, lights, thoughts
with visions of that
man in the red suit fitting down chimneys
and
sneaking in your front door on
that special night?
OR
Preparing for those
friends and family from out of town
and
hoping for those
"Hallmark moments with family"
filled with laughter love and peace?

So
today my thoughts are this...
Oprah... what are you doing/thinking here?
First order of business Oprah. You have an amazing opportunity here, you could interview Dr Lynn  Rogers and Sue Mansfield of the North American Bear Center out there in Ely MN, the little town that is now famous and has the even more famous Black Bears Lily who gave the world a little cub named HOPE.
YOu could have an opporunity here to interview and talk to the man responsible for uniting over `119 thousand fans on facebook from all over the world in behalf of Black Bears
who has raised awareness and a tremendous amount of money and education funds for a little town in Ely!
C'mon Oprah, get on this,
after all a man in Duluth named
MOE
bid and won an auction of HOPE's scat for one thousand dollars!!! That is "hot for Oprah" fun here!!!
And
on top of all of that OPRAH
this man Lynn Rogers has dedicated his life
to research and study and
walks with the North American Black BEARS
de-bunking myths across the world.
WE NEED your  voice
as legislature NEEDS
to STAND UP
and
protect radio collared bears
from being killed by hunters there!

and then:
Oprah Oprah Oprah
what are you thinkin babe... c'mon now, I need you here~!
Isn't it time Oprah that
Healing Heartaches was put on your
list?
YOUR BOOK LIST
that is for the world to know about?
C'mon now...
some strange things are happening with all of these emails I get from the Oprah email list I have to tell you.
It's been happening for the last six months..
And
this weeks' just has me wondering.\\\\\\\\
OPRAH
what are you doing?
Several months ago, I wrote about
attitude.
Next thing I know, Oprah has email come about talking about
"O" magazine with quotes about "attitude"
Then I write here on blog about
"the WArrior within"
'O" magazine comes out with finding your Warrior self.
OK
then I write mini series about
discovering
ways to "change your focus and change your state"
"O" has similar thing in magazine.
I write about HOPE,
about loss and grief
and in a couple of months, don't ya just know it
"O" magazine has Oprah talking about HOPE
and losses, and she doesn't even talk to me
(here I spend my life working with the experts those who have walked the road of loss and grief)
OK, so how weird is this?

ARE you feeling me here

THEN
I write about
Compassion and kindness
and speak on Compassion Fatigue
"O" now on stands talking about
you guessed it
Compassion/kindness
'are u at risk for compassion fatigue'

One is quite specific but right now cannot remember it,
so
I ask again...

Oprah,
babe.... don't ya think it is time for you to read, to hold in your most famous hands a copy of
Healing Heartaches, Stories of Loss and Life?
AND
tell em?
Tell em
Healing Heartaches is a MUST read and it's
on
Oprah's list of "Read it"
"Books were my pass to personal freedom. I learned to read at age three, and soon discovered there was a whole world to conquer that went beyond our farm in Mississippi."
Oprah Winfrey
Oprah is far beyond the farm, has suffered many losses and many and much success... One of the most beloved and generous women in American today ...
On her way to her new network known as
OWN
so
she too might just enjoy
Healing Heartaches is my thinking, might just find some words there that speak to her heart as well!
But,
I still find it fascinating
that a couple of months
after writing here, or speaking there
I hear that Oprah has written or in her "O" magazine
will be topics
on what have been here
with even some of the same things our readers are talking about~
Now that is just amazing grace~

So Oprah, or staff... if you are here,
or if the spirit moves ya,
we sure would like it
if you added
Healing Heartaches to that book list that so many
grab like a hot cake on a Sunday morning~
"Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire. This is your moment. Own it." Oprah

What is on the plan for all of you today?
Something exciting?
Something warm?
Something to fill the hearts of another?
Get out there and get your shine on today.
Be the best that you can and are on this day.
It is your moment.
and I say;
SEE IT, BELIEVE IT, RECEIVE IT

So there you have it!
Bring it!

Sissy 2 wolves out in SD is busy with those gifted hands,
having just made 400 seed bead bracelets for some special hospice folks, she is now working on pet portraits on wood, on bags for folks, special orders, one of a kind gifts for the holidays while the snow falls.

Remember to smile

A Sad Day For Many

A Light of HOPE
for
those who
are
Grieving

Good morning on this once again cold Florida morning as the light begins to pierce through the darkness of night.
Last night the world heard on all news stations that

ELIZABETH EDWARDS

died at home after her long 6 year and very public battle with
Breast Cancer.
I typically do not express this particular sentiment
but it seems fitting somehow:
R.I.P.

Elizabeth Edwards
A long time advocate of
HOSPICE
named
Person of the year
by
HOSPICE
died with the care of HOSPICE
at home in NC
Hospice joined briefly in caring for her,
along with the family and
friends.
As it should be, privately, with honor.
Thank you Hospice for your care
of a wonderful woman.

Elizabeth was a Warrior, a brilliant lawyer and author.
She was also one of the most public of the public
talked about and sought about news stories of late.

Elizabeth Edwards was a "class act"
but
more importantly she was a
WARRIOR
She was not a stranger to life's challenges
nor pain of loss.
In what may be her final words and those to remember her by, she is remembered by having said,
"I've been sustained through difficult times “by three saving graces—my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope."

She has lost a child, and when diagnosed with breast Cancer, a cheating and lying husband whom she loved, was once said, about both,
"At least I have a chance, my son did not have a chance."

The thing I am most happy for her about is this:
it was announced that she had stopped all treatment.
And within the same flicker as a firefly in the night,
The Creator called her to the other-side,
peacefully.
She is now with her beloved Wade, who had died years before in a tragic car accident.
She is no longer in the eyes of human scrutiny or the press, she is not longer here to suffer pain and undue heartache at the hands of others, including those who claim to love her.
The press did not get to drag this out on and in front of the world and subject her to anything less than the
dignified woman she was in life,
they had nothing to really report
and for that I give thanks.
She is reunited with her son and the Ancestors.
So for that, we should all give great thanks, and send thoughts of healing, light and hope to her children
that they receive the love and support to hold them up
in the days and months ahead.

WE NEED TO CURE
BREAST CANCER NOW
BEFORE OUR CHILDREN HAVE
BREASTS TO TALK ABOUT OR
HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT.

R.I.P.
Elizabeth Edwards
We all admired your grace, your strength under fire,
your grit, you fight a great fight.
YOU won the war in life make no mistake of that.

Once you have rested, once you are at peace in the next place...
I hope you dance in the lights of Heaven.

FACT:
Cancer SUCKS
Recurrences, are often brought on by stress
Triggered by and made worse by
STRESS
Are you hearing me out there Mr Edwards/press/people?

Wherever you are
Whatever you are doing

Give it all you have
Believe in YOU
Practice Random Acts of Kindness
KNOW THIS:
We have this day.
Make it The Day that YOU will know to be the way
YOU would want to be remembered for

We're RE-Scheduled To December 13 at Tiffanys!

Paul Hittos
owner of
Tiffanys Family Restaurant
Palm Harbor FL
US 19 N

Good morning Winter, you sure do know how to get us with our "chill on" here in the sunshine state!
Yep, hit the high 30's last night,
right here in the beginnings of December on top
of that!
Coffee is hot this morning, but that is about all that even
comes close to being real warm around here!
AND
I'm sure everyone knows by now,
our
Evening at
Tiffanys had to be re-scheduled at the
last minute...
To those that did not get the word on time
and
showed out at Tiffanys' last night
I sure hope you took a seat
and
enjoyed a great meal, kicked our laughing friend
Paulie in that picture
and
will join us
on
December 13,2010
at
6:30pm
Paul tells me he has put my name in lights
today
right under his very large sign that sits on
US19
so I'm sure you will see it, and so will I when I head
out there later today
to take him books
and a new poster for display!
If not, might just feed him to a gator on Lake Tarpon!
Speaking of Paul Hittos;
he is the father of three little boys; all precious indeed.
That photo of him laughing that I was able to take above
was taken as he was telling of the littlest and newest of his tribe.
Baby Spiro named after his brother,
Pauls' eyes were as wide with pride, joy and love as a child as he told of that baby's birth, his beauty, his sweetness. Only then to be outdone as he told of the greatness of his wife, as a wife, mother and woman.
It may be that I've never experienced seeing and hearing a person so in love with their family before, so very enchanted with each breath of their children, so anxious to hold, hug, to talk with them and love them; and to give such praise and adornment
to his wife in the process.
Paul is an honorable and good man; guess he received that from his parents who were wonderful people.
I only wish that I could have known them as well.
I am so very honored to call him
"friend"
as a community here, we are so fortunate
so very blessed to have such a man
owning and operating a business that reflects
the essence of family and traditions
that care for community!
Thank you Paul, thank you staff...
The food? Fantastic
The Service? 5 star
I am honored to speak there to and for our community
on
December 13
at
6:30p
on
"Weathering The Holidays in The Winter of Grief"
It is a time for our community to come together, to meet one another and to hear coping strategies on grief in the holidays; whether it belongs to you, a neighbor, a member of the community or workplace.
We all know of someone who has walked the walk of loss and need to gather with others
 and
to be validated along the journey during the holidays.
While many are so happy, with celebrations, songs in their hearts and blaring throughout the malls...
others may be working with all of their might just to get through the day at work...
Others may hold it in, while still others may just feel anger at the joys of others!
And
then again, some have forgotten that it is perfectly OK
to feel all of those things!
Let's gather together at Tiffanys'
or for those across the globe, explore what is happening in your areas, to provide some support or local gatherings or speakers to offer and provide
speaking engagements/seminars/workshops
that will
focus on
HOPE during the holidays
HUMOR
Healing Ways
that will offer tips, tools, techniques, new traditions and thoughts
to enhance the winter of your grief!

Where ever you are friends,
Dress warmly
Think Warmly
Practice paying it forward
Smile Broadly
Laugh Loudly (even if at yourself)
Trust that you are a Survivor

The fire is blazing this morning, its embers are heated, are hot... The sage is fired up with thoughts and prayers on the wind, to all who know who they are out there.
And yes,
I am hearing of many who have this nasty bug that is traveling and trying to make a home in your bodies...
Rest, drink water water water, increase your Vitamin C,
nap often, wash hands with each attempt at standing.
Know you are never alone.
YOU are with some powerful warriors here
along with some powerful angels,
both here
and in the next place.

OK, who Turned The Cold ON

Godson #51 The Beast
my
Buddy Pal

See that SNOW
Virginia, DC, MD =SNOW
South Dakota=SNOOW
MN= SNOOW>Bears like SNOW as do humans there
CO=SNOW
SWNY=SNOW
All those places
"out and up and over there =COLD and SNOW"

Good morning
from
Brrrrrrr
COLD
Florida, = The Sunshine State?

LOL

Yep, it sure is chilly here this morning!
Weatherman and friend from one of those
"cold states" sent me a message last night
telling me "frost coming to Florida"
and
indeed they were right!
It is right chilly this morning!
So,
here I sit
bundled up and just waiting patiently
for the
Sunshine State to get its Sunshine ON.

Until then I will just adjust my attitude, put on a sweatshirt and sit outside with an attitude of
gratitude that the little four-leggeds have decided
to jump up and grace me
with
Gypsy on my Lap
and
Jeepers as a
back warmer!

The holidays are already showing signs of stress and
anticipation of the dread on those
wintering them while grieving loss.
This evening I will be joining with members of the community at
Tiffanys Restaurant in Palm Harbor
talking about
"Weathering the Holidays in The Winter of Grief"
It seems that right before Halloween many
would prefer to just skip right to Jan 5 when
grief is heavy, or memories and grief triggers are pulled.
It is a hard and difficult winter for those that are in pain as they face the winter months and holidays without loved ones.
The firsts are thought to be the worse as they walk into all those times of
the "first Thanksgiving, first Christmas, First New Year, First Birthday, First Valentines Day, etc.."
BUT
often it is the anticipation that is worse than the actual events...
The events themselves are
times of painful loveliness as they are filled with special and sacred memories that will sustain if only you choose to let them.

Today's Tips
for
Weathering The Holidays in The Winter of Grief:
1. BE Gentle with yourself
2. Let others know that this is a difficult time
3. Talk with your family about what you want to do (decorations/gifts/engagements) and what you cannot do this year
4. Change traditions this year
5. If shopping is too painful, don't do it
6. Balance sociability with solitude
7. Light a candle that will burn through the season in honor/memory of your loved one
8. Say his/her name often and much
9. Know that the anticipation is worse than the actual event
10. Choose to survive

I HOPE you will be able to join the community
here in Palm Harbor for an
Evening at Tiffanys
US 19
come early and enjoy a good meal

The Fire is burning and blazing this morning, its embers are hot... With thoughts on the wind, for healing and HOPE to all. I hear many are ill with this awful bug that is going around... Drink water, Vitamin C, and rest...
Prayers for strength going up.
