First things first....

May the wonder of your world take you by surprise with each magical breath... as you rise and shine on this remarkable day filled with all the beauty your heart can hold.

First things first;

Blessings to sustain, to feed your soul, to rest your weariness and to provide food for your body mind spirit.

Gratitude

Laughter on the winds

Memories to hold tightly to as the shifting sands move us to places unknown as the tides roll in and roll out

May you find a shell in your pocket and sand in your shoes, either in reality or in your minds eye as this day is filled with blessings and great potential.  Look UP! Create your own Dale Chihuly moments in your life of color and amazement... *if you want to that is* "don't blink"

Change is all around, not pocket change

Change is sometimes
Slow, Sometimes fuzzy, Sometimes Hard

A brilliant beau-tif-ic morning it is!

Results from that "swoosh test of the neck arteries"
Rollin like a River and all GREAT here!
WOOO HOOO
Happy am I!

I tell ya, I believe there is no difference in "De-Caf" and "High Test" in the coffee world! I truly cannot tell any difference at all ~
Still "ramped" up on life, tastes and smells the same to me, so I'm thinking... why have two different kinds anyway?
Just so you can think about "change" maybe, or have a "choice" or make a "change"?
Ah
that's it!
CHANGE

Change is the essence of life.
Life changes us whether or not we desire the change, whether or not we cause the change, whether or not we accept the change.
The seasons change
The days and months and years change
Moods change
Tides change
People change
Music and fashion change
Health and wellness change
Attitude and Latitude change
Most of us DO NOT LIKE CHANGE!

Change may be a brilliant opportunity to grow, cleverly disguised as a struggle or loss. Change may be forced upon us.
An event in our life, whether welcomed or dreaded brings with it change.
The only real certainty in life is change.

When someone we love dies, our world feels as though it is turned upside down.
Everything is changed.
Our life changes before our eyes.
We know that we cannot change this truth.
We can not go back in time and make the outcome different.
This is why every fiber of our being rails against acceptance.
We are faced with monumental change.
It is life’s most difficult struggle.
Knowing all our lives that each of us at some point in time will leave this life has not prepared us.
The knowledge that no one we love will live forever, does not soften our loss.
Death is why the universe has taught us to grieve.
It is a transition period.
As difficult as it is, we must allow ourselves time to face this change in our lives before we can regain our footing.
Life is not stagnant.
Know that you can adapt, you will heal, you will grow, you will learn ways to incorporate your loss into your life differently than ever before when you are ready.

Know that change does not always come gently into our lives. As awful as the experience is, we will survive even the change of painful loss.
 Death changes us.

But life changes us too.
Every life event changes us in some big or small way.
Though not always welcomed, change is life’s constant companion.

Most change is uncomfortable.
Because we are all creatures of habit.
Change makes us stretch ourselves out of our “comfort zone”.
Sometimes we unconsciously resist even the change we want, simply because we find ourselves in uncharted territory.
In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves.
"The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility." - Eleanor Roosevelt

Railing against change wastes our energy, stunts our growth. Even welcomed change thrust upon us must be reckoned with.
Lesser changes may even be desired, and still we find that change is often difficult.
 Some changes we embrace wholeheartedly.
Often we bring about the change we want to see.
We embrace the change we desire.
This is how it should be.
If we must adapt so often to undesired changes, we must also be ready to celebrate the changes we desire in our lives.
Yes, this type of change can also feel uncomfortable.
Change brings with it the need to adapt. As with all change, there is a cascading effect. One small shift can set in motion unseen events that follow.

If we are realizing a desirable change, then we should expect some things about the process to surprise us.
Change is inevitable.
It is possible to embrace change.
Though we can't change the direction of the wind, we can adjust our sails to reach a desired destination. It just takes desire, and a sincere effort!
Sometimes, we must surrender what we are in this moment, for what we can become if we allow ourselves purposeful change.
We must unchain ourselves from the fear of change.
Because life changes us, day by day, moment by moment, is there not good reason to be the agent of this change?

I’ll use again the metaphor of the ship at sea.
Sometimes tossed about in the tempest of terrible storms, sometimes moving gently under still, cloudless skies, the captain at the helm must govern the vessel.
We are each the captain of our own life’s ship.
We must chart our own course, weather each storm, and choose the direction we set sail for.

As the currents, the tides, the weather is ever changing, so are our lives.
Life is not always easy to navigate successfully, but we must.
And so, Be mindful of the events in life that change us, bring about the change we desire and act with purpose.
 Create opportunities for change.
Even pure water left undisturbed stagnates.
Water and life's events are to be respected... the storms can come up from calm seas without much notice ~
Pay attention! YOU are the one to pay closest attention and keep your eye on the horizon ~ trust your gut... and use all your senses
Remember that caterpillar?
Do not allow yourself to be "swayed" by others (even if well intentioned), be respectful by their concern, their suggestions: but you are the master of your ship!
Or for another metaphor:
remember the picture above: that fabulous caterpillar of Tinks' in Palm Harbor, just waiting to join her other butterflies and be amazing?
What a struggle they must go through for that change!
Remember the struggle to free itself from that tight little chrysalis of darkness and into the light?  Now really... talk about change!
C'mon into the light my friends...

STOMP!

Be the change you want to see in yourself!
Know that there will be some/many changes that will occur in which you have no... absolutely no control over during this life.
Change can be that way!
YOU are a warrior, you are a child of the Universe.

Change: will occur, just as the seasons, the tides, the moments and the days...
Whether you are calm, get angry, feel pissed off, hurt dismayed. If you kick, scream, protest or read between the lines of the changing tides looking for shells to pop up, change is happening in around and with us by the second....
Embrace the change and lead the way,
Be the Change you want to see, embrace life with the many changes that you will face in this precious life.

As my friend Tonya sang along with a famous country music star  at a concert with the spirit of her best friend Elke (*who died of Cancer in her 20's) beside her in spirit. Her tears streaming, kicking her feet yet blessed beyond measure she felt it, she has made it her mantra, her life doing through the inspiration of this song knowing that change is all there is to count on.
Don't blink; when spirit moves you to move, get going.
Life is uncertain
go for it!
"Live Like You Were Dying".
Do it your way, your style your time
STAND/stomp

and you will Love more, Live Large and in Color
during all the many and varied changes that find you.

“We cannot change our past. We can not change the fact that people act in a certain way. We can not change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.”

Wishing you a slow moving beautiful Saturday

Holding onto Balance

Sometimes it takes courage to stand up, to sit still, to move forward in finding balance.  Times are always changing, the tides roll in they roll out, sometimes calm before the storm yet balance is often hard to find or maintain.  It takes courage at times to stand in unfamiliar surroundings or waters. It takes strength to balance on one leg, or even two most days when you think about it. Heaven knows it takes patience and practice to feel that balance within practicing, sending messages to the brain always as you walk your walk, talking your talk. It is difficult as you move through the days to keep that balance when talking, listening to the thoughts, opinions of others as well.  Balance is critical to your well being even when standing for you and those you care for.

It is what keeps us well, keeps us in our happy place and holds us upright against the rushing tides of all that we face, hear, see in order to not feel that we will end up eating sand along the way!  Sometimes we may decide to "just go for it" making a splash with what we think, do, say, feel.  The thrill, the feel will elicit joy or shock by those around us!

Some will be sure to wear a life jacket in order to not get too deep in the plunge, while others will throw caution to the wind believing firmly they have all they need to rise up to the top after the plunge. That usually comes after years of practice, wisdom along the way and a few mistakes sprinkled in... but the plunge, the jump can and is often adrenalin filled leaving one to wonder if the balance is still intact while in the air...

Guess it is all in the eyes of the one who jumps literally or figuratively, what do you think?

It's all about the timing, the balance physically, mentally spiritually. Just as many will let you know they hate to get wet in the rain, others will let you know they love to feel the sensation and prefer to jump for joy while dancing in the rain. It's a matter of perspective, a balancing act of messages to the brain, deciding what you want to embrace and move through you.

Balance; in our thoughts, actions, walk, talk, turns... from sitting still in the water getting on trying to stand... and then the fun thrills and excitements begin... turning from side to side and leaning just right for the thrill of
B A L A N C E.

Hurry up and wait, stand on one foot brush your teeth, balance your thoughts with your actions, do something out of the comfort zone...
and so it goes.

In a world that at times makes us wonder if everyone has gone mad, it helps to work on balance, to blow bubbles from time to time. It is helpful to set boundaries for yourself, to find that line that is personal to you, the one that no one crosses, the one that defines you and is sacred. The line that is respect, honor and is where you stand balanced knowing that it is yours to say when where how the tide within you rolls that keeps you balanced. It is your happy place, your sacred sanctuary. It is your private safe place, and it is the launch pad of all the most remarkable wonder of YOU, the Universal Oneness of Creator made you to shine from that inner self.  You are the masterpiece of Creator, having all you need to do all you dream in balance.

To keep that balance requires work at times, constant messages to the brain that feed the soul and spirit.  Are you feelin me?
Create your very own Chihuly moments of wonder, of beauty, of awe... in balance, in beauty, in "wow"...

Wherever you go, whatever you do, make it so that you outshine the sun, even in the rain...
YOU are the most precious resource you have... create your balance and have fun with each step or dance as you hear the music.
B A L A N C E on!

Only we would find a one webbed seagull at Clearwater beach with such grand balance!

The sunset on vacation... now the quiet is deafening

From the pool to Disney, the Transformer ride to the Mummy that took my heart and put it in my throat... the giggles the thrills, the bookends in my bed squishing me... the fun times the good times, the awkwardness of a boy of 11 a girl of 13 trying to find their groove of communication to late nights of Disney, the WII competitions, the basketball camp of Coach Woodka in Tarpon Springs... Oh my goodness what a summer it has been.

From the photo in the middle to now, we had the times of our lives... we rocked it we did! From the Gulf of Mexico to Lake Tarpon, to Disney to the pool, we had the best of times we did.  they are growing, as I sit looking at that picture wondering where has the time gone, feeling so blessed I can barely feel my feet beneath me touching the tiles. Still feeling their touch, sensing their smells, their wonder, the conversations stirring in my mind, the memories saturating my very being. Interesting the things and the conversations that fill you up assisting you to stand, to filter out the things that leave you with less than what you truly want to hear or be a part of as you move through the day. It sure is quiet here, even the 4 leggeds seem to be grieving their absence.

Maybe it's their overall "awesomeness" or the constant kisses hugs they are missing the most, since Jeepers, Gypsy and even Patches all, were in their arms most of the time when they were not in the pool. They have searched the rooms, the bathrooms, walking from here to there in the looking for Kam and Olivia.  Seems they just don't get it yet, "where are my people" is there expression as their heads cock and their eyes stare at me. I just look back with my sad puppy dog eyes and say, "I got nothin babies"... and they walk away in their search sniffing them out all over again.

Of course, Jeepers was the primary day glow wearer the night of fireworks.... he did make an outstanding glow in the dark dog, along with Gypsy who we found sleeping with a lime green band around her waist...

Ah yes, the possibility for us as adults we can take a lesson from the kids now that summer has happened, now that I sit wondering how to fill the time when missing is at an all time high. Longing for the voices, the laughter, the sheer joy that has been filling my soul in ways that words do not do justice.  The colors of the sky have been more remarkable, the smells of the air, the rain, the sun have penetrated the senses in ways that are difficult to describe but are tonic of the Ancestors as stories have been shared.  To be open, accepting and willing to teach while learning is an opportunity that stays with both the children and I forever, in ways that are etched in the soul spirit.  Pinky swear they are.

The dollar store sells those wonderful day glow sticks, perhaps you will want to purchase some... wait for the darkness to come, break them open and celebrate the fluidity of life, of wonder for yourself! It is indeed a colorful and beautiful world of wonder. You can find yourself quite easily with them at night, try it, YOU might just fall in love with it while experiencing magic.

Look around you, create your own "Chihuly" world in your mind's eye... a world of color, of glass beauty, in fields, on water, in your home... a sculpture of brilliant colors, to leave you with awe, with excitement, to work through pain, through crisis, through bullsh*t.

Look through the eyes of an excited child who is filled with imagination, wonder, joy, enthusiasm.  IF they are having trouble with theirs, help them discover the possibilities; the wonder of the world... passion through imagination. that same dollar store sells bubbles and after all, who in the world doesn't love bubbles? gET SOME for yourself, it will help you remember to breathe!

Wonder how that would work if you put a bit of food coloring in them, or vanilla extract for sensation of smell, color, and "OH MY" a whole new experience of bubble blowing!!! "Feelin it".

Imagine, handing over the wheel of a 20' boat to Nana's girl, the feeling/rush of driving a boat for the very first time.... oh what a day of "feeelin it".

So as the sunset on vacation 2013, the sadness crept in, the moments of tears escaped... and then the prolonged goodbye was the absolute worst... The storms came through causing major delays. (OMG, just take a rusty hot knife and stab me slowly)... the wait, the delay, the rain, the wait...

Olivia and I decided "just one more delay and we're goin home, Mom will have to cope we cannot take any more of this, it is too painful".
Finally, sadly we tears in our eyes the darn plane arrived and we hugged our so longs and she boarded....

BUT, I had forgotten a gift of a monkey we bought for little Gypsy as the phone rang with Olivia saying, "Nana, YOU forgot the monkey, I"M bringin it to ya!!!" Here she came against all the travelers with the bag, another tearful hug/kiss and then had to get back on the plane for her solo flight to BWI...

Oh lawd, just shoot me...

With a quick call to da Mama, "she is on the plane" my voice cracked, as I told her I had to hang up and would call from the car... I HATED that part.  The bumper to bumper traffic, the $20 parking fee as a result of delayed flights, the lone drive home as I knew my girl was silently with tears just like me until we meet again...

Shift your focus change your state:>>> We've had the time of our lives!<<<<

Time to dribble the basketball, turn up some music, distract distract distract..... til this feelin moves.
Blow bubbles, find a new recipe for them, glow sticks tonight, dress up the 4 leggeds, (check)

Beauty fun, color, awe,... striking Beauty

THIS is how it's been.... me in the middle, a dog on my head, one at my feet and my bookends in my bed.... usually an arm under each kids' head as we sleep through the night.... or... arm around each kids' waist, holding hands on our backs, watching DISNEY until all hours.LOVE, are you feelin it! yep just like that for nights on end, me and my snuggler's the bookends.... now down to one who I found on the couch this morning! Seems she prefered late night TV to the Nana and I didn't sleep a wink missing my bookends now that Kamryn has returned to the boredom of routine of home as he called sounding quite pitiful last night missing me and the thrill of Florida... Olivia I have yet to find out why she did not occupy the bed with the Nana but suspect a movie might have captured her until she zonked out on the couch... as I felt so very alone and free to stretch for the first time in weeks here after a day of the Dale Chihuly Art Museum with her in St. Petersburg FL where we came close to destroying art as we struck a pose for a picture! YIKES

We do believe in togetherness and Reece's cups at midnight in bed though!

Heaven help ya in the midst of such beauty if you need to get up... noting they are rather dead sleepers and bed hogs along with the 4 leggeds who do snore contrary to popular belief as there is also the often "will you give me your arm...." along with the wake up sound of "Oh, I just wanted to tell ya I LOVE YOU are you asleep?"

Yes, beauty and giggles, laughter, education, awe are all a part of each hour of the day with these guys .... to be fair, we must add a bit of jealousy that sometimes appears from seemingly nowhere as if sprinkled by dust lasting for either moments or longer, then vanishing into the air. It is quite an education.

Some things are just funny, some entertaining, refreshing as you see an 11 year old boy, a new 13 year old girl who for the first time since 2 and 3 spend time together as they get to know one another.  Their conversations blossom when adults disappear, or one goes off to another room leaving them to their own. They discuss the Zimmerman trial, politics, Obama and the love of Disney. They love water, WATER, the gulf of Mexico.... Olivia roots for Kamryn on the court as if she understands the game of basketball and is rooting for her brother with such enthusiasm and love that it is amazing as she watches with intensity. She is laid back like her Nana, easy as a summer breeze. Kamryn likes action, movement, entertainment "doing" vs. being.

Fun, sun, awe... laughter.

He hated leaving, his sadness broke my heart by phone last night.

Yesterday, DLB, Olivia and I were in awe... Dale Chihuly I want that man to create here on the Lanai some of the things we saw, felt and were so moved by as we walked slowly through the museum of yesterday... Olivia and I even lay in the floor to look up at the angles of art/glass in stunned amazement of such detailed glass beauty.  We wanted to learn to blow glass.
IT WAS STRIKING, STUNNING BEAUTY...

Our eyes brain spirits were on overload!!!

Then the canoe, sitting in the dark, on what appeared to be water... all filled with blown glass, the colors the depth, the intensity of color. oh my goodness we were breathless. Trying to take the photos of just the right angles, the color, the "feeling".

The three of us were just amazed by it all, each step took us away, gave us so much to talk about, to look at through different eyes, to wonder about.

It was a beauty filled day, a day of inspiration that brought us home to talk and talk of glass blowing, sculptures, inspiration and art.  Chihuly is a remarkable man, his gardens and use of glass left us breathless, enjoy the beauty here for a sampling of glass, the colors the wonder....

May your imagination take you where ever your courage will lead today....
