Crisp Sunday as we see winter falling across the lands, the waters show the chill if you look at it, and folks are bundled up.
The fire is burning here, as we plan to fold down the edges of our bags this day, to seat the candles well for tomorrow evening and place them with care on the driveway and join with so many as we light our candles for those precious lives lost in Newtown.
I plan to read each name as my 11 year old Godson Kamryn lights each candle with care here.
We will remember and we will hold those families and many in our arms of hope as we then move this tragedy we have witnessed and talked about into our joyous Christmas as a family here.
While recognizing pain of others, while knowing that many are suffering, while standing amazed at so many who are finding their voice through such horror, while knowing that we will never know what makes some do things that are not imaginable to others.
We will also know that we must continue to find joys in life, in each other, in the fragility of life.
We will know that there is hope even in the darkest of days, light will come again differently than ever before.
We hear of traditions changing all the time due to pain, loss, circumstances. We see that in our own families, our friends, our towns.
Here we are celebrating Christmas without D'Vante here for the first time this year! He is now 18, is working and is of his own mind and priorities and has chosen to not be here due to job, and his choice.
We have honored his choices, his desires, and he is missed here, he is growing into a young man now, and yet... he is missed, the traditions are changing, but we are still embracing the now of our times shared with Kamryn, with Mom/Dot/Cob and family of choice here and the little 4 leggeds who just love the excitement in the air. The dribble of basketball day and night and the "swoosh" of the hoop is exciting to watch along with the near miss of falls in the pool trying to catch it before it goes splat in the pool. There is still hope for a fall in that cold water from where I sit!
Yes, it is almost Christmas; trips to make in the night to see the lights and listen to the music on the way; there are games to play and movies to watch, and cupcakes to deliver to the police department tonight by Kamryn and I along with our local Fire Department!
He learned to make his own batch last night, what a wicked beater he was quite remarkable with 1 1/3 measurements and they were delicious!
...
Yes, it is time to be supportive and loving of every living thing, while honoring the fallen, remembering those who are fighting for our freedoms, and those who know are finding the courage to place one foot in front of the other to get through it.
It is also time to love a lot stronger, to be a lot more than you were two weeks ago, or even yesterday, to embrace gratitude, compassion and kindness in each breath you take and to exhale judgment, negativity and arguments.
It is past time to return to a time of gentle spirit and to all just get along to make it the better than it has ever been.
For all those who are struggling now, look to the parents, grandparents, siblings and neighbors of Newtown as ones who may inspire or bring you to a new understanding of grace under fire... and know there is a way to continue on.
....
Prayers and blessings to all today and always
Prayers for little Peyton the child who has been having unexplained seizures on the East coast, may he heal soon.
Little Hudson continues to do well to be a cute as he can be and is healing.
EE in Colorado is now back in her bed from surgery in Denver where they were able to do the embolization of the tumors in her kidney, and unfortunately had to also destroy part of her good kidney as the tumors had invaded there. She survived that surgery and is now at home healing with the love of her son. We continue to hold her in prayer and hope that she will soon be in less pain there.

"Our country is grieving. Each child who has been slaughtered belongs to each of us and each slain adult is a member of our family. It is impossible to explain the horror to ourselves and to our survivors. We need to hold each other’s hands and look into each other’s eyes and say, “I am sorry.” ~ Maya Angelou ~
As you dance, walk or just kick back and relax into this day, may you know that you are the excitement, the glow, the hope while you remember the blessings that surround you on this spectacular Sunday!

Thanks for reminding us about still finding joy in the season, in spite of the tragedy we have all witnessed. Makes a person rethink, and align the priorities in the correct order. NOBODY'S gene pool should require any chlorine this Christmas---if we just stop to remember to count our blessings, and have more gratitude than ever before. TO YOU AND ALL OF YOURS, A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, DR. SHERRY, and to EVERYONE else as well.
Thank you Dr. Sherry for your message, words and the prayers for so many listed. Thank you for keeping my great grandson Peyton in your prayers. He road in a car Friday night, with him parents and grandparents, from Georgia to Michigan to celebrate Christmas with his Michigan family. No seizures in the past 2 weeks so we are grateful. I continue to hold our friends in prayers. I am happy to hear that Kamryn and family are all together for Christmas. Have a wonderful evening. Take care friend and remember to count your Blessings. /Sandy♥
