Be The LIGHT

This morning my heart and prayers go to those in WVA, the families and those who are filled with profound sadness and sorrow... Across the country we are praying for you, our hearts united with yours in this very sad time... We will light a candle for you and together send you strength knowing that you will feel it across the miles.

Light up the world, because you can. How often is a smile the first light on a dark path; a hug, lending it’s lightness to someone in need of touch and caring. We are each the light we choose to be. A smile is a light in the window of the soul indicating that the heart is at home. The comments of yesterday showed that, so many "hit by the same truck it seems! So many extending warm and loving thoughts ... So many on Lily the North American Black Bear's page, 95,000+ still gathering to check in on each other still with Lily and with HOPE... the human connection; lighting a candle, from one to thousands... and for the most part out of kindness, out of a pure place, from sincerity bonds formed ~  ~ ~



Sharon Salzberg said “ It doesn't matter how long we may have been stuck in a sense of our limitations. If we go into a darkened room and turn on the light, it doesn't matter if the room has been dark for a day, a week, or ten thousand years - we turn on the light and it is illuminated. Once we control our capacity for love and happiness, the light has been turned on.”


Our own joy lights up the world for others. Our caring introduces light for others to see the hope of a new tomorrow. When the power goes out we reach for a candle. Bingo, let there be light.

Just that easy. Smother darkness with light. Wipe out gloom and doom with joy. Welcome the sunrise with a smile, and express gratitude for it’s light. Light guides us. We can be the light everyday. Be a bright star in the night sky. If you want to that is!


For really, at the end of the day, no one cares what we know until they understand, until they know that we really care. Offer up your light today to someone who needs to know they are cared for. To light your own way, to celebrate the lightness that is you.

Remember the song, “better to light just one little candle than to stumble in the dark?” Geeze, now that will be stuck on auto replay all day in my head. It’s true though. We may not be able everyday to out shine the sun, but when we can’t do that, we can put forth a little light. Light grows brighter on it’s own We foster it, we nurture it, we reflect the brightness back into the world.


Aren’t we just amazing? Lily gave us HOPE . . . and some of us have always had HOPE, some just recognizing HOPE and loving it, now refusing to ever let go of HOPE...


So shine on! Be the light. Lend the light. Reflect the light. Light up the dark! And if you are up to it today...
