HOW TO CELEBRATE WHEN A WARRIOR OF CANCER COMES HOME

Chris Came HOME
We Gathered and We
Celebrated
The Warrior, The Breast Cancer Survivor
and It Was GREAT!
My coffee is hot, fresh and great this morning as I reflect of the great time had by all last night...
We welcomed Chris home in grand style and grand celebration and surprise!

Ah, the blessings are many this morning...\
last night found me among some of the greatest warriors of all!
See them here... all gathered to welcome Chris home with gladness; all coming together to celebrate her and to welcome her home to Florida!
The balloons said, "Celebrate Life", "Welcome Home", "Congratulations", mixed with regular beautiful pink balloons....
Chris was presented with a "huge" PINK HAT" that she wore throughout the evening! And she says she will wear it back to work with a matching pink shirt...
We wore: pink ribbon tattoos; pink ribbons on shirts, hats, and fun stuff  ~ we laughed, shared a tear or ten ~ we listened to stories of the Walmart angel, of stories and more stories, we shared stories of HOPE, of scared times ~ and did I mention...
WE CELEBRATED LIFE?
Was she surprised?
I'm thinking "YES"...
Was it wonderful?
Again,
a resounding YES...
An evening of those who have commented on this page, and are in the hearts of each other often... those who have held Chris in their hearts and prayers from the moment of her frightening diagnosis of Breast Cancer right through biopsy... onto her trip to New York and surgery of her double mastectomy, leaving "the girls"...
and finally two months later...
She has returned home to Florida!
/*\
On Sunday around 4pm the thunder beings started beating their drums here, the rains began... and the rains just went on through the night and into Monday... it rained and it rained on into the day (liquid sunshine here) with thunder and lightning.
It rained and it thundered right up until the afternoon ... And Chris arrived home around 1:30 pm... and then, like a knowing celebration soon to begin... the  sun became bright about the same time Chris touched down!
Now I'm thinking that the celebration was beginning right then and there to welcome her home...
But last night she was surprised beyond measure when she arrived at Grillsmith when she walked in to be greeted by old familiar faces, as others were there, just sitting there and waiting to say,
"hello friend, it's been a long time, and we are glad to see you, we've been thinking about you, praying for you, and we've had our warpaint on, fighting right beside you all along.
You are now home, so ... Let's get this party called LIFE started, and celebrate LIFE!
Celebrate Chris, her return and her good news
 we did"!

Friends... through the great times, the good times, the scary times and the overwhelming God awful times... that is definitely what friends are for...
And last night friends gathered...
For a good time, a time of wonderful celebration!
A time of amazing stories and a
ever so happy ending to two months of agonizing pain, of uncertainty and many  a prayer on the winds... even a Walmart angel dressed in white.

Well if you clicked the above, and if you found your way back...
then you know... for today, that about says it all for me!
Somedays are like that, a song will say all that there is to really say, and for me, after last night... a night filled with such joy, such wonderful energy and love of so many to celebrate with friends that were filled with such spirit, honoring one who has fought such battles and returned a warrior and a surivor of Breast Cancer...
Really... what else is there to say friends?
For today I leave you with only this thought...

I am deeply honored to walk along with each of you ... to have been invited to journey along unfamiliar and dangerous paths, through heartaches and uncertainty... while discovering the fearless warriors that live within and emerge stronger and more whole through the experience...
From my red heart I can only say,
wado ~ I am honored.

Welcomme Home Chris! You are a celebration. You look fabulous. Hope this morning finds you well rested from having been in your own home, in your own bed after that extraodinary journey. What a great party filled with good wishes, good people, great stories and good food. Remember to eat dessert first!
We are all so happy that you have had such an amazing outcome. I know that much of this amazing experience, right from the start, has been goverened by your positive attitude. You made alot of tough choices and you are indeed a Warrior.
To those of you that are still in the trenches, fight on, STOMP, know that you are in our hearts too. That there is plenty of love and support here. More than enough to go around. Doc, thanks for providing us with this awesome place to share the love.

Dear Dear Sally,
Heard you hold the record for having "gifted" the most copies of Healing Heartaches to date. 24 lucky people out there because of you. You ROC. You are an Angel amongst us.
Loved the Utube doc. That IS what friends are for. That will play in my head ALL DAY today.

Rise and Shine, it's another chance to celebrate life, love and friendship. What a wonderful way to start the day. Sun creeping up, rain gone, reading the blog today let me feel as though I was right there at that party for Chris. Picture was great. How about that pink cowgirl hat? You do represent the wild mustang. STOMP ON Chris. Welcome Home.

Wow, energetic blog this morning, looks like a great celebration! Welcome home Chris... Great hat ... Great party of welcome after a Battle to be sure. I can remember when I finished treatment... returned home to a stak of bills, and a couple of phone calls phone ringing from family... asking how I felt... NO celebration, business as usual... moved around my home felt a bit lost... to be honest, didn't quite know what to do with myself! HAPPY? you bet... but odd to be honest. Looking back a celebration would have been "just the right thing" to kick off life again, to be surrounded with others who wanted to welcome me back to life... to hear the stories and to kick start me into LIVIING AGAIN... I got vicarious pleasure of seeing the picture of hearing aobut Chris and putting me in that party... Great idea for others to remember: Celebrate those who get finished with treatment... Celebrate those who are fighting .... Life is for the living and thanks DRSES for reminding of the importance of not lietting a minute go by and not missing the opportunity to let others know that we get it. Welcome HOME CHRIS... enjoy each moment, looks like you are off to a beautiful start now that you are home... bet you clicked your heels together with the best kind of way, with those that were there for you and the Walmart angel! Love the song, and yes it said it all. A great-ful reader and surivor

Good Morning all--as you can see I was overwhelmed, surprised and so Honored last night. Sherry, Dorothy and everyone there made it a perfect night. I sat there just drinking it all in--that's is indeed what friends are for. I couldn't have been happier. I can't thank you all enough for all your prayers and thoughts through these past few months. I will say this--the Doctors did their part & I did mine. There is no question about it--ALWAYS do a self check every month!! That's how I found it and it was invasive but it did not have a chance to invade--that along with aggressive treatment that I opted for saved me. Teach your children to do it too!!
Boy did I have fun last night... what a time I am still reeling form all the goodness. Thank you all so very much.
'talk to ya later' PS Irene not to worry- you're still beautiful in my book.

Ok Lind from Apex NC, Your back, and still unwelcome. So yo uahve a tube of ash. Nobody cares. What exactly does that have to do with anyting. Nobody wants you here. What part of that message don't you get. We are not NARCISSTIC. We are celebrating one of ours. Not only are you unwelcome, your comments make no sense, are irrelevant. and you are totally transparent. We can pick your comments out every time. And guess what? WE laugh at how assinine you are. So everytine you right we laugh. Is that what you are looking for. More people to know what a nut job you are.Would that you were dust and ash. It would be a better world. No one needs more BORDER-LINE personalities to deal with. Stick with your therapist if you have one. If you don't, get one. You are a piece of work. PS, in case you don't know it, that is not a compliment. A curse is upon you. Now, go with that.

ASHES TO ASHES.... Linda came back dust to dust... nope not goin to rain on a Survivor's parade...
As I was reading of this celebration and thinking "wow" what a party, what a great idea and gathering... I was there, I was really there, then reading the comments I got to the one of the anniversary of the ashes and thought, NOW THIS IS AN ODD ONE... LOL I even thought "ah, it's probably from the stalker in Apex" wouldn't that just figure... then I wnet back this morning to see if others had added to the celebration and good wishes for a Breast Cancer surivivor (being one myself) and wouldn't you just know it... another and rather transparent post from we all know who...
what part of "YOU ARE NOT WELCOMED HERE" do we think that she doesn't get???
Wooden nickels> Dr SES comment used long ago... narcissitic? yep that's an Apex favorite in her old crap too.
Chris if you or others walking the walk are looking back... pay no never mind to the transparency or just kick the arse of the arse here...
Bottom LINE:
WARRIORS ARE HERE ON THIS PAGE OF SACRED FIRE...
thanks Doc... for keeping the fire burning for so many ~ Rock on Warriors ~

Thank you for removing the last Apex post. I would much rather have the Administrator remove it than EVER have to see another post by this sick, twisted, evil, hateful person.
We are here to support and love and care and celebrate. She is not capable of any of that. She is the south end of a north bound horse. So, thanks for erasing her from our space. Whatever she posted is not worth reading.

because of all the love and support that I have received, I can honestly say I don't look back-only forward and the nut job is not in my sights. I will not give her the satisfaction. I will not let her get into my mind at all. There are more important things to do with my life that has been given back to me. Thanks for all the thoughts about me-I'm fine don't worry.
