Time to Roll Back The Clocks: oh my

Ah, but we are a powerful force to be reckoned with... Who says you cannot turn back time?  At 2:00 am, everyone will be stopping whatever it is they do at 2:00 am and running all over the place finding their clocks and indeed "turning back time" as it is that time of the year again! FALL BACK FOLKS!
A great opportunity to see if we can turn back those clocks to a favored year I'm thinking; maybe one of a kinder time, a time where things looked a bit brighter, our bodies were a bit more with "pep in our step" as we rocked around the clock perhaps? Ah but we can't help but entertain such thoughts rather than the reality of it being so dark for so long until the month of March as we now will see the beloved sun less and less I guess.
Many of us will wait until we awaken to find those clocks and then struggle to remember if we find them all and stand at the stove and work to balance the microwave to match with the oven as we get them to line up for the hour and minute! Good luck with all that... and don't forget the car!  It is rather amazing how many time keepers we discover as we "fall back" and then gleefully "spring forward" isn't it?
Yet we still run behind at times, or are amazed to get where we are going early enough to find pride in all that as well. Time in all its glory and in all its joys... always moving and so very fluid in nature. So very precious this thing called time; that we are able to now turn back just cos' someone says we can...
We will hope the kiddies have it lighter at the bus stops, yet for those who work they will see little light now; coming home in the darkness, moods are sure to reflect this change as it always does.  The electric companies will delight in the usage since the A/C is being turned off, yet the lights will be on to give us some brightness and our homes some warmth while offering a substitute for the sun that all will miss for the dark months ahead.  At least the tech world knows how to reset itself and computers and phones will automatically know when it is declared "fall back hour"... we will wake and see that time there is correct, as we wonder why our appliances didn't get the notice!  Our body clocks will take a bit of getting used to, so it's probably going to take a few days to catch up I do believe... be gentle with yourselves as you continue to think of those who are in the after math of SuperStorm Sandy in the North as a Nor-Easter is now being thought to be headed that way.
The ugliness of landscapes changed, homes forever gone and nerves stretched beyond reason have begun to show themselves in the behaviors and fears of those there.  Hunger, wetness and lack of sleep have now turned to rage and fear, each of which has crippled executive functioning in many who are trying so hard to stand strong.  They don't care that at 2AM it is time to set clocks back an hour, many are just getting through minute by minute and hoping for help.
The celebrities and great voices stood together last night on television and sang their hearts out for help and they made an impact. I couldn't help but weep and wonder how those affected would feel such hope if only they had a television to see what was being done for them; the love and the care that was being extended so quickly by those who have the voice and the power to reach across the world through their music.
Those are people who gathered in short notice, their lives put on pause and stood for what was important to them and did it in ways that they know best... The Universal Language of connection... MUSIC... that moves people into action, into the connection of caring and love ... and it sure did as the phone lines were jammed for hours, and as resiliency once again allowed folks to do something for their brothers and sisters, Elders and the children... To help.

We may fall back at 2AM, but we will never leave anyone behind... Remembering and holding in thought all affected in the superstorm of Sandy.

Blessings to all today as we move into November and a time of great gratitude.

Hello Dr. Sherry and friends. Thank you today for your words and for the very touching and beautiful song "WE ARE The Living Proof". Very fitting for the days we are experiencing. I hope all is well and you are enjoying your day and getting a little rest. The shelter was busy today, had many visitors but no adoptions and 4 cats surrendered by their owners. Brings our total up to 46 cats and kittens needing homes. Two were very old cats, a mother and son 8 & 10 years old. I hope we will find homes for them. I am still holding those touched by the devastating storm in my prayers, both human and furry friends.

Take care and have a wonderful and peaceful rest of the day. /Sandy♥
