THOUGHTS FOR THE FIRST SATURDAY OF 2010

Virginia Beach
Rough Beauty ~ On The Rocks!

The sun is shining on this brisk Saturday of the New Year here this morning. It was so quiet that I slept late this morning! The four-leggeds even slept in... now that is really something. But now they are ready for the day, running and barking their news that the boys are gone, and wondering why! They have searched the house to no avail. Just us here ...

2010 in full swing. I'm sure the news will be filled with reviews of "the best and worst of 2009", a re-cap of the year, perhaps I will watch a movie rather than relive quips of that, after all we've all lived through it right?

How is your New Year starting off? Made any resolutions?
More importantly... have your thought about the choices you are taking and making in this time of new beginnings? Ways of being, doing and thinking about things...

Dig deep within; find that which sustains you. From there take each step with intention.

Examine if there are people, issues, ideas that need attention or forgiveness or just plain letting go of.  Write them on a piece of paper and study them; write your resolve to them and then go outside and bury that piece of paper or set it afire and then bury it. Cover the hole; tamp the earth well when you cover it. Set yourself free.  Keeping a journal is also a wonderful tool as it will allow you a safe place to record your thoughts, feelings and be a place for your eyes only, (unless you want to share it). It also gives you a wonderful way to look back as we all forget over time at where you've been in your thoughts and mind. While it may be hard to start, I always suggest just starting small and let the pen flow free. Whatever you may think of just write it down. Once you get started it will become easier.
This is but a couple of the many exercises that you can do that will help you to get in touch with the things that are your thoughts or troubles  that may be preventing you from finding your way to balance, to mind-body-spirit connection.

As for finding your spirit/animal totem, I speak about that in Healing Heartaches and ways to determine your totem. Animal totems may change over time and come to us when we need them; remember the only constant in the world is change!

I treasure and enjoy your comments and welcome them here! Keep writing, and I thank you for reading.

I hope you are spreading the word of Healing Heartaches to all who will listen...

Nothing is more powerful than the word of mouth or the "moccasin telegraph"!

NJ. Great blog, Sherry, better to read it the day after , than not at all.
Will take your suggestions, use them, live them
and become a more settled being in 2010.
