WE THANK YOU, WE HONOR YOU...

MEMORIAL DAY 2011
A Day of Remembrance
A Day of
Honoring/
Coffee is good although it is too early to be up, it is still good. This back has me up in time for pain meds, ice and back down again.. Oh my, forgot what real pain was like and I'm not liking it on little bit.
But pain or no pain,
I am filled with deep gratiude
on this
Memorial Day
to all the men and women
who have served
so that we may be free
in
this
great nation
in our
communities
and
in our homes.
Thank you all for your wll wishes here and the emails I have been receiving.
Your kindnesses' for Stuart and Sandy
along
with me
touch me deeply.
I pray you will get outside today
and marvel at life's beauty.

The day was originally known as
Decoration Day
back in the Civil war
as gravestones were decorated
with flowers
by mourners for those killed
in
the Civil War.
These days
it is a day of remembrance
for those killed/lost in service
and
includes those
MIA and POW's
and is the last Monday of May
which seems to coincide
with
the first day of summer for most.
The holiday was first widely
observed in May 30, 1968
when 5,000 people helped decorate graves
with flags
at
Arlington National Cemetery
of 20,000
Union and Confederate Soldiers.
And it has grown from there.
A National Moment of Remembrance
takes place at 3pm
takes place
at
Arlington National Cemetery
today and each year
and the laying of the wreath will be held at 11am at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
along with a parade later today.
Over 250,000 Service Men, Women and thier children are buried at
Arlington National Cemetery today.
It is said that at least 30 military funerals are held there daily now.
The tomb is protected 24 hours a day
365 days a year.

Rolling Thunder has been in Washington DC with riders from across the country
paying respect to the fallen, the missing in Action and POW's all weekend.
They too will lay a wreath at the Tomb
of the Unknown as they ride
across the Memorial Bridge to do so
sounding like thunder as they roll.

Parades are held across the country to honor those who have died serving our country and in towns flags will be flying
to remember and to say
"thank you for your service"
across our country.
The events will be many in
the
Nations' Country
and across our vast lands of our country.
The Vietnam Wall will be filled with people around the clock
with people embracing, talking and stories being shared,
and
the WWII memorial will see many walk its beauty as well.
><
We remember
and
We thank those who are serving
along with their families.
We want you home safely
sooner rather than later.

Of course I would be remiss if I didn't tell you we have linked this sacred day
to the world of "shopping"
not sure quite how
but
we managed to do it
with our three day weekend.
So if you must get out there and shop today
be mindful of those around you,
those wearing ball caps
that say
"veteran" or dressed in uniform.
STOP
cross the street if you have to,
go out of your way
and extend your hand to say
THANK YOU FOR SERVING.
On this
Memorial Day
We Remember Them

OUR Ancestors; where would we be without them.

FOR:
Those who have served, whose memories we honor today, this weekend and always... Those who have died defending our country and their fellow service men, along with those still MIA or POW's... We will never forget you.

Our "Enso Bigninatti (Bighi) Now dancing with the angels and watching over us and the Disaster Teams of the American Red Cross. Bighi was the founding father of the Disaster Teams of the American Red Cross and a lovely man, a POW who escaped the POW Camps, who walked away during the death march... Who was a survivor, a man of great strength and a war hero, a friend and mentor... We will miss him always and love him dearly... "I get Misty" was one of his favorites and oh how he loved Sinatra...

WE THANK YOU
WE REMEMBER YOU
WITH HONOR, RESPECT AND VALOR

Just thinkin...

Saturday Morning
and
coffee and me
are just wondering

"did my stuff strut off without me"
this morning?

Good morning readers
I hope you are planning a day of wonderful
happenings today!

As for the tribe here
we are sifting through soot
or
should I say
Sandy and Stuart are
stirring in soot
today
and making great progress!
I on the other hand
have somehow managed to
"blow out my back"
so
am with ice pack
and pain
like I have no recall of ever having before!
It will of course be great
once the pain goes away
but
for now
walking, standing, sitting
at
at times laying is a challenge
and
often requires loud moans
accompanied by a tear falling from my eyes.
My low back looks rather like I was hit with a baseball bat (and feels like it to) as the pain radiates to the front and then I have the joy of watching my thigh twitch all the way to the knee!
NOw aint' that just a dirty rotten shame I have toask...

The little ones are loving it
as they get to spend time in bed with me
except of course
when the
"chimney sweeps" Sandy and Stuart come in
and
then they abandon me in a hot minute!
What Jeepers wouldn't give to be in their home
to roll around in the soot, you can almost see the
"desire in his dark eyes"
as he settles for a postion in he laps of the soot masters
and a good lovin from the soot filled hands
while using his unspoken skills to beg t go back with them!

We were reminded of his love of ashes
as we recalled the last year when he snuck into the fireplace
and left those teeny weeny paw prints all over the house\
and
went from his beautiful white coat
to one
of grey
then looked ever so
shy
and bashful
when we wondered out loud
"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN INTO"?
Funny little guy he is.

The birds are singing their morning song today
and
the weatherman is calling for a bit of
liquid sunshine here.
So
Stuart is busy as he can be securing the house
so that no rain finds its way inside.
Yesterday was a productive day there
as
all windows were replaced
and
prices were captured for a new front door.
It is amazing the goin prices to replace the front doors
of our homes these days...
The first dumpster has left the driveway now
most of their possessions left with it
and the horrible smell of fire
and
soot gone.
Now a brand new and empty dumpster takes its place.
THE INVESTGATION CONTINUES
and
waiting for the results of that is perhaps the hardest part on them.
Things are things as they both have said
and
discovered we all keep too many things.
The greatest news is that
Stuart is a really bright and talented man
he a a couple of lifelong friends
will be able to do the majority of the labor
to re-build their home
and
what a great gift that is.
Not many are that fortunate.
Their son now home safely from Afghanistan serving our country
has said each day via phone call,
"Dad I can and will come, I can provide security to your home, I will do whatever is needed there, just say the word".
Nothing quite like a Marine ready to jump into action!
Thank you Stuart Jr for your service
and
welcome home.
><
Yesterday
a big ole' firetruck came up the street
and parked in front of the house!
We thought sure that they were here with an update
or
wanted to look some more,
BUT
the young man jumped out of that truck
carrying a
cake case
that once held the
world famous cake that DLB made for the guys!
He jumped out of that
firetruck
and
announced to Sandy
'that was the best cake we have ever eaten'
and
gave her back the carrier!
Now I call that appreciation
and delivering it back in style!
"How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes!" ~Maya Angelou

We thank you
Tarpon Springs
Fire and PD

JEEPERS AFTER HIS BATH
SWAGGA ON
just waiting for a "sootin opportunity I'm tinking"!!!

So then,
now that you are all in my heart today
wherever you are and whatever you are doing
Those who are serving, have served and your families,
I apprectiate you,
I honor you

I thank you all.

Have a great one today dear hearts
from all over the globe!

Happy Friday with Sparkly Moments

Friday Afternoon
Just a thought
as I just realized
we are entering
Memorial weekend.

See the colors
the bright and beautiful colors
they are you within
yours to hold
to
own
to
embrace.

Talk is just talk
it is what
you do
how you live
truth within
in each breath you take
and
each step you take.

It is in knowing deep within
that each step creates a vibrational energy
that affects all within the greater circle
it adds to the color
of the
Universal tapestry of so many lives.
Paint with a wide brush
of color,
find stones of brightness
and shapes of wonder
make them your own
walk in your own feet
of
HOPE
and
inspiration
knowing
that with each stroke of the brush
each beat of your heart
that
HAVE AND HOLD ONTO
FAITH
Design and enjoy
your canvas, your creations
they
will brighten now only your life
but that of each other person
that you meet
that you know
that you
happen into.

The beauty will have a far and deep impact
and
reflect wide and far
through the energy
that is within you
and
affect all.

Have a sparkly holiday.

Middle of The Week

Soot
Soooooot
and
More of the Sooot

BUT
you can't get good people down
not really

and we've decided
that Sandy gets Stuart to put in her some fine
granite counters in the rebuild
and
I'm thinking
we should all just go on a
but
I'm thinkin there will be none of that
as
the first dumpster is almost filled here
Stuart is ready for that one to be picked up
and to fill the next
to be delivered!
He says the electrician was dumpster diving trying to save the WII
which was melted

Number 1 almost filled, ready for pick up....
Still thinkin a drive to Miami and a cruise sounds like a sterling plan and needed respite for Sandy and Stuart! I'll Drive...

So then
American Idol
has crowned
a 17 year old
Scottie
as their Idol
and what a voice that young man has
as he was just tickled to life
to the point of hardly being able to sing
the song written just for him
"I love you this much"
He is just as cute as he can be
and sure to have a contract by the time you
read this.
Today
millions will not know what to do with
themselves during that magical
Oprah hour
as they now must adjust to a life
without
"O"
during daytime t.v.
but I hear that
Dr Oz
will take her spot
but not the hearts of those that love her!
Oh my the trials and tribulations
as
Empty Oprah Syndrome sets in
for the millions of fans
and
tonight we can always watch
:So you think you can dance:
and
see young people move their bodies
in ways unimagined
with grand hopes and aspirations
across the stage
with fluidity of movement
that we all just wish
that we could achieve once
in our lifetime!
Indeed life is a grand adventure
reminding you of a
rollercoaster at times
and
if you look closely
you will really realize
that there is no need to sweat the small stuff
and
after all it is all small stuff when you think about it.
Stuart says
we all have
"too much stuff" especially paper
and
most paper does not burn
remarkably.
He says he's been wanting to remodel
been wanting to get rid of a lot of stuff
so
this is a great opportunity to do what he's been putting off
and
now he just has to do it!
How's that for an attitude of
greatness?
He and Sandy are doing all the work
with the help  a few friends
and
each morning they rise with a plan for the day
which is often changed by mid-day
but
they are working the plan
and within the first hour
look a bit like
chimney sweeps
gone wrong!
Keeping hydrated
Keeping the faith
and
Continuing to laugh
are key ingredients
along with
great meals
seem to be working out
and
we must not forget the four-leggeds
with their steady supply of
lovin
at the end of the day.

"Life is either
 inspiration
or
desperation"
Tony Robbins

May your day be as wonderful as you are,
OWN it
make it yours with your distinct footprints
and
have the best day ever

The fire is burning brightly
the embers are hot
with sage filling the air
and
thoughts of hope in healing ways to all today
and
all days
