Welp, The RNC Convention is ready to Leave Tampa!

Color me happy about the balloons!
Wouldn't that be just too much fun to stand under 100,000 ballooon released from the skies as a child not knowing what was happening?

Not being one for politicking, I don't really watch these things nor get in the mix, nor the traffic... what bits and pieces I got on television and traffic snares that I did see were not what I call worthy of the mind boggling amounts of  money, time, travel being spent on what was already known though!
Sorry, I mean no respect here, just observations, on this the morning of what is to be the
Blue Moon
and that blue moon's effects and seeing it come have been being felt all over this week, from ugliness, to weirdness to just outright ridiculousness.
If I were to pick something exciting in what limited exposure I did have though, it would have to be hands down the dropping of 100,00 balloons at the end! Oh how exciting that must have been to experience, and be a part of.
I did watch the little children as they became thrilled beyond words and leap into the air to catch and retrieve them.
It is a miracle they were not buried in them but oh they seemed to have a grand time until a grown up grabbed them up in arms and one young girl finally was able to capture a big white balloon with stars to take back stage finally at the end!
Oh adults are so civilized, as they stood and watched yet did not get into that action, such a shame that they missed the opportunity!
I did see Ann Romney tell of her most perfect love and make a plea to voters assuring all of us that we could trust her man as she looked stunning in her red dress that was valued somewhere at 2,000.00.
Talk about the million dollar mom! She sure does know how to dress and make her man look grand.
Yes a woman in a dress that identifies with the regular folk up there singing her song and standing by every day people and their day to day struggles while endorsing him.
I still wonder how it is that congress allowed 80 million dollars for security for a convention where 2 in Tampa were arrested at a protest and 5 in Pinellas County. The costs to do this are staggering to me, when everyone already knows who is in the running.
I did hear a couple of prominent men stand and endorse Romney while bashing the President and outright lie according to CNN fact finders and the news; some of their statements I indeed researched myself, and yes they lied.
I read the incident of two in attendance that three nuts to an African American CNN camera person and said that was how they feed animals; only to be ejected from the convention; and yes that was confirmed as true.
It did not bode well I heard from those in power there.
Perhaps a bit much Jim Beam or Jack Daniels had been on board prior to that slip of consciousness?
...
Yes it seems all were quite happy, and I did hear that man from NJ, Christie I think it was and see him.
For a time I thought perhaps he was running for President as he talked of himself and his love of his mom and dad, his home and his accomplishments.
He reminded me of Jersey Shore television or the Mafia, and he later made a surprise visit here in Palm Harbor where the punished Florida delegates where staying at the lovely resort known as Innisbrook in Palm Harbor.
While speaking to that group, he let them know that it was imperative to get the vote of Florida, and that quite frankly he was not overjoyed with the lack of enthusiasm the prior two nights on the floor of the convention, and wanted them to really make some noise for Mitt.  He talked more about his love of his Mom, and women there as well.
...
Condoleza made an appearance i was told and boy did she ever come off strong and angry.
Guess she is a bit peeved since her last job and wants to make a bid for a new one.  She is a bright woman and spent time also talking about what hasn't happened by our current President yet didn't jump to take any responsibility in the state of affairs prior to his appointment.
Many have decided that Ann Romney is "hot" and really something to look at since her appearance! Many have decided she is better looking than Jackie Kennedy ever was, or than Michele Obama is. I'm not sure how that applies to anything unless they liked the way she spoke and giggled and wore that 2k dress.
Or maybe it was her talk of Mitten as she calls Mitt.
...
I do know that this blue moon is affecting folks!
...
Then tonight was the icing on the cake,
as Clint Eastwood mosied up to the stage with no script and extended his 5 minutes to 10 making those who run a tight ship a bit nervous wondering how to get the "Make My Day" man off the stage as he used that growing voice to talk to an imaginary President Obama in a chair looking over his shoulder.
From there he rather moved from one topic to another, losing his horse from time to time as the crowds yelled for more remembering back in the day when he was at his prime I suppose, but the theme that ran through all was,
"Let's make the President look as bad as we can, so that perhaps Romney and those who love him will look better."
As the stage crew and those in charge of minutes and seconds paced and wondered how to get the star off stage he growled on to the delight of the crowds.
I have always wondered about those who have to bad mouth others in order to make their own agenda stronger.
Why is that exactly?

Mitt took the stand or the stage to the applause of many, and it rather reminds me of a concert or a cult when signs like that wave, folks weep at words spoken and promises get made that any reasonable person know are not quite possible.
I get a bit angry when I hear someone profess the love of life and sanctity of this and protection of that and religion and politics get so intertwined that I have to remind myself what it is they are talking about.
MItt says he is all about the middle class and yet he and his bride don't really have a clue about such things, they live in a different world; wear clothing that the middle class have never had on their backs; he spoke about that company that now Obama shops at Staples thanks to it. I haven't heard about Obama making purchases at Staples and what has that got to do with anything anyways?

Yet isn't' that the company that put so many out of work as a result of its grand success and millions?
I'm not an expert on any of this, but when he mentioned the name, my ears perked up a bit.
When he started throwing numbers around without even a slip of paper in front of him, trillions of dollars to the penny, I had to wonder how much of this was real.
He confused me about Obama saving the planet and the shore line or the rise of the tides...
How exactly was this President suppose to accomplish great things and success when just about everything he brought to the table has been shut down by Republicans that held the seats and vendettas against him?
I cannot help but think that many things our now sitting President has done were undermined and the truth of all the many and myriad of efforts put forth were shut down in a hot minute as a result of who was sitting at the tables in the discussions and final agreements to pass things along.
But again, I don't really do politicking.
And it seemed the entire convention there were too many times people heard about how important wives and mothers and stay at home women were to the working machine of America and those men who go out to do the job.
Was that placating or trying to get women to vote and not remember all of the many disrespectful, disparaging things that have been said not so long ago?
The fact that 56% or so of women vote and do not like the fact that many republican men in power have stated that they will soon have no right to choose how they care for their bodies may have something to do with all this, or that we still make less on jobs than men do!
I just don't think I understand all of this; conventions to nominate a man we've been hearing about for what seems ever; one who we already have known is running for President yet he accepts his nomination tonight and everyone there cheers and hollers and weeps as though it is new news.
Just imagine, while this event provided jobs and income for folks and the city,
imagine how much money was spent out of pockets and from businesses who paid to send people to this huge party of three or four days.
Many I'm sure will stay on through our weekend here since it is a long one with a promise of heat and sun here.
And trust me when I tell you,
it was not all work while folks were here, there were massive parties in the city,
the Hard Rock Casino and clubs about town where liquor and the finest of foods flowed like the Nile.
Big names were here, entertainers and folks that you just cannot imagine.
But here is my thought;
why again is it that we have to have religion pushed down our throats; someone else's values pushed at us,
have to hear that life as we know it is all someone else's fault
and lies come out people's mouths who stand, look into and around audiences and cameras while telling us we can trust them with our lives and our country?
I truly do not say this with disrespect to any party, I merely state it as a question and a fact.
It would appear to me that the past 4 years have not been enough time for anyone in that White house to turn things around from the previous 8 years or 10 for that matter
in what has been happening in the world.
Mitt spent the majority of his speech slamming President Obama
and telling us of his values and religion
and under his gilded Vail letting us know that he does not believe in a woman's choice as he has on the pants and plans to wear the pants of our country. I see no reason to continually beat down another in order to make yourself feel or look superior in the process, and for those reasons I do not think he accomplished his mission outside of those who are his followers and those with big pockets and similar beliefs.
I am truly happy that he and Ann and their children and grandchildren are of the 3% being able to afford homes, horses and 2k dresses and probably suits that cost the same by Oscar De
however
they are not the majority of USAll
...
Yes I am reminded why I don't watch or get hooked on those things, what little I did watch made me a bit wild and on this tangent.  Good I did not hear the guy he hugged at the end when they both forgot to unbutton their suit coats so that they would look better on the camera, oh yes that is the one running for VP, nope can't say I like him and what he believes in either in regards to women.
And thank God I did not have to be exposed to Akin!
He was probably off looking in his own made up anatomy books or calling NIH for more information on how to cure gays since he has informed reporters that all they have to do is drink breast milk for a couple of weeks to be cured if male, and if female to drink something else, but he would leave that to the reporters imagination!
Can we together describe this man in one word?
DISGUSTING
...
And then again there is Mitt's biggest supporter, ole' Donald the Trumpster who admitted he has no regard for women and had even looked at his daughter and her body thinking that if she were not his daughter he would date her and have a sexual interest!
...
Where do these people come from and are they all related somehow to Rush?
Oh I am so glad I did not tune in and see his horrid self on the stage of the RNC.
But soon enough Tampa will be Tampa again, the traffic flow will get back to where it was before the road closures and big fences and our police working round the clock to protect and serve not only the haves but the have nots,
those who got in the doors but also those who wanted to protest them.
Those who attended will have memories to reflect upon and stories to tell once they return home, momentos to put on shelves and ultimately will find their way to boxes in the garage and long from now will be collectors items that get sold or not.
We'll hear about it for days to come as the next round is due in days
and heaven help us when we get to the debating times
and those who haven't registered need to so that they can VOTE
as it is their responsibility and their right.
You don't want to be caught bitching in mid-November and then saying oh what difference did it make I didn't vote do you?
Only to know that every vote counts
even here in Florida
unless there is a glitch that is.
And stranger things have happened so I am told and if memory serves me correctly!
So then,
I'm thinking I will see as much of the next one as I did of this one, or maybe less... I just seemed to have come in on the wife and the few that got me to thinking, but oh Clint, you should have stayed home and stayed on the big screen.  It was like the movies though, at times a bit surreal and one could only hope it was make believe and not reality.
However,
It did NOT make my day!

...

I love that Tampa was such gracious hosts and our city showed so well during their stay.
Our Mayor, a democrat did an outstanding job, and I hope he is now able to rest before heading out to the Democratic Convention!

My continued respect and gratitude to Chief Jane Castor and the entire Tampa Police Department during a week or month of preparations, trainings and wonderful care of our city and people.
And we have the democratic convention next...
More time, money, things and resources to confirm what I do believe everyone already knows
President Obama is running for re-election!
How I hope that he will stand and those who are with him speaking will use their own words to speak on what is important in our America.

Yet, now the gauntlet has been laid down and I feel certain he will have to address the things that Mitt and his pals, along with the Republicans have thrown out there. It is sort of like having to defend yourself now I guess, but I do hope that people will think and will make choices that are good for the whole rather than be sold a bill of goods that are not good.
We are a proud country, one that has withstood the good, the bad, and the ugly. From the words of enemies to the actions of others.
I still think that elections and offices and decisions can be made on the quality of the person rather than the degrading of each other in an attempt to make yourself the better choice.
I also believe,
but I believe in honor, integrity, truth.
Perhaps I should write myself in
for President.
OH god not that, I would rather have someone put bamboo under my nails
than that responsiblity or pressure.
Seriously, a 2k+ dress to wear and talk about how a person relates to the regular run of the mill person out here in America?
Still shaking my head on that one.

Please dear ones, be careful in what you watch, listen with your senses to what you hear, and think carefully before you buy what is being sold by those who say they KNOW how and what is best for you and OUR country.
I will not let anyone make me feel powerless or guilty for loving my country and exercising my choices and rights along with my responsiblity.
This is our land,
the founding fathers were the
First Americans!
Remember if something or someone says something that sounds or is too good to be true,
well you know the rest!
Laugh dearhearts, even if you have to laugh at yourself.

Have a fabulous day as you prepare to view the
blue moon tonight
and get into that long weekend
take BEST CARE OF YOU
and maybe get you a great comedy from the RedBox!

Be careful out there, shield well
YOU know how that moon is!

Wishing YOU a Reeses' Kinda of Day!

Sometimes it's the little things that bring the most joy and the biggest smiles!
That's the kinda day I am wishing you today.
One of those days where out of the blue, you just smile for no other reason than
YOU CAN CHOOSE TO!
Of course it would be grand if you got a great surprise, or good news, or a smile like the one in that picture when Kamryn presented me with our favorite chocolate after Michael Jordan Camp!
A day today that lights up your world, maybe a text, an email or phone call that just tickles you to life with someone who has decided to "pay it forward" and leaves you breathless in the process.
Had one of those days lately?
They are indeed effervescent to say the least, and sure beat a rainy or dreary day of sitting in the corner eating worms any day of the week!
As I listen to the news, watch posts on Facebook and twitter and social media sites, I continue to wonder where the filter of others have gone. That same filter seems to have left the building of the RNC as speeches and bad behavior have been witnessed there as well. There seems to be a strong need for courses in Anatomy 101 and Kindness 100 across the lands these days and a beginner course in happiness and simple ways to delight others with surprises of joy, and perhaps a Reese's cup along the way just to make someone's day.
Perhaps as the blue moon is making its way to us, things are ramping up on crazy actions and behaviors, as i looked up last night and oh what a moon I saw!
Strange things are happening all around us, folks are acting like they are "off their feed" here, there and everywhere.
Let's blame it on the moon and the tides changing, after all Limbaugh in his usual style blamed Issac on our President
I'm wondering if we can start an email campaign to the local news stations and media insisting on hearing about
GOOD NEWS
and local happenings and those who "pay it forward" with kind acts to and for others.
Those wonderful acts of surprises for others that are human and live their lives best they can who from time to time need a little help here and there.
How about children who have a passion and need someone to mentor them and help make their dreams come true or do things that they love consistently yet cannot really afford to get there; or afford the lessons to make it happen
Let's see if we can just collectively work to throw positive energy out there, to hope for goodness to prevail in the midst of all the craziness that seems to be on every corner and on the big screen!
While doing our part to effect change in small and big ways to another that may benefit and grow by our care, our presence and our concern, we may indeed see something larger than ourselves bloom into a beautiful September as we enjoy this blue moon that is on the rise.
Just last night I was the benefactor of an email that thrilled me beyond measure from someone who showed me true generosity in caring and compassion;
it filled my heart beyond measure.
I sat in disbelief as I read and re-read the words of kindness and compassion and great surprises
and was overwhelmed.
Oh it was a Reese's moment to be certain and I savored the kindness that was extended in making dreams turn into reality and the ability and ease which someone paid it forward with a pure heart.
Paying it forward
what three words of wonder
and actions that continue to amaze folks and tickle the senses allowing us to believe in the good in the world and those who walk alongside us daily.
I'm all for standing up for the four-leggeds, the winged ones, the swimmers and crawlers; I'm against abuse in any form.
Yet, I do believe that we need to really focus on our fellow human and those who reach out in times like this with extra kindness and concern and gifts of paying it forward in small and large ways;
just because we can.
We together are so much more
than when we are alone.
It is one more of those choices
we hear and talk about,
one more time of choosing to embrace our brothers and sisters, the Elders and the children
in hope for the now and the future.
As we all know, and often need the reminder to not take any wooden nickels; we also need to know that the touch of human kindness mirrors others to do and be the same.
That feeling that is generated within when someone does a good deed or extends a hand or gesture of kindness is the light that is made to burn brighter within and warm the spirit.
The eternal flame of
Hope
Charity
Compassion
Humor
Faith
LIFE

It brings out the best in who and what we represent to ourselves and to others.

A special shout out to

Oh we Get To Choose!

Just like goodies at a bake sale,
so many choices and we get to make choices with each moment of our lives!
Oh the choices, the flavors the impact of our choices.
Even if we don't make a choice we are making a choice and an impact whether we know or own it or not!
The decisions we make, the steps we take, all are choices.
We can own them, or shift it to someone or situations, but in reality they are ours friends!
I read a powerful blog this week by a friend of mine, and this is the link
it is worth the read, so be sure when you have the time to click here if you should choose to!
The title:
"The Past is Dead-Stop trying to Resurrect it"

Yes it was a powerful read, and spoke loudly to the choices we make in life; those who hold tightly to the past and choose to stay in toxic moments and relationships or situations or memories of things that just make for negative energy.
Some will say that they have no choice in matters like that; situations and pain caused in the past just cannot get out of their head and things like that.
But I say that is a choice made and fostered and fed.
WE all have stories in our lives, things that have happened and people who have hurt, harmed and disappointed us.
Yet if we choose to dwell on those times, or let it take up space in our brilliant minds it will affect our "now", our vision and will cloud our thinking.
Before you know it time has passed and we "become the story", others are recipients of hearing the same ole thing over and again until they no longer want to pick up the phone or they could recite and mouth what we are saying with little prompting.
Too much time spent looking in the rear view mirror sets us up for a crash not seeing what is ahead of us while missing what is in the now.
What a wasted now I'm thinking.
There are ways to process the events and the occurrences that have created that toxic feeling of wasted energy and time, to put it where it belongs, and let it go.
Why hold a coal of anger when the only one who will be burnt is yourself and your hand?
Rather than burn bridges, it would seem better to walk over them, into the next chapter or adventure with heads held high making a choice of change, and yes sadly there are times that walk is alone.
People and even relatives at times enter our lives for seasons and reasons, teaching lessons and even doing great harm if truth is told.
But there are those times when things just can't be worked through or worked out and it is better to walk away with the lessons learned well and realize that there are those times when fences cannot be mended and blankets get torn.
It is rather amazing to see and hear of those who create such chaos and harm then turn around and utter the words,
"I love you"
as you are finding ointment to put on the knife that has been used to cut deeply and that action was chosen by the one wielding it.
Words cut deeply and repeated times of negative behaviors and ugliness seem to be toxic relationships that do not change over time but only continue to play out in choices by those who do harm yet profess to love you.
that makes no sense to sustain toxic relationships that only serve to do harm does it?
We either choose to continue to be abused by these relationships and words or we choose to take a stand for our own integrity while realizing it is difficult to make the final decision.
People cannot use others as the reason to sustain toxicity as it spreads like a fire and affects all.
Choices to heal or to not treat wounds are truly choices that are faced each day.
Just as we now see and hear so much on the political platforms and hear people declaring that they are this or that.
When someone spends vast amounts of time telling you they are something it rather makes you wonder since they are investing so much energy trying to convince and sell a bill of goods while trashing others.
To build self while destroying others has never made me comfortable.
There must be a way for people to stand for self while boosting others I think.
We must build up our children and fellow women and men while standing strong united in all that we do.
Making solid choices and respecting those who are integrity filled and honest in interactions should not be so difficult, it goes back to the beginning of time.
We hear this week that people in another country were killed in savage ways for dancing,
we hear of protestors facing off between police and screaming through megaphones and have to wonder,
"seriously that helped who how".
We see precious resources being spent with jobs not available and police departments working 18 hour shifts covering a convention why?
Where people gather and get jacked up while nominating a man for President that for all reasonable people we already know was the candidate.
As this is happening we now see the footage of Hurricane Issac hitting New Orleans on the anniversary of Katrina and the levy has broken while many are in harms way, yet many at this convention from LA have made the choice to remain in Tampa and party on.
Choices and leadership and those things that go bump in the night in our hearts and minds
as we all worry and wonder what will happen come election day.
I may be naive but I for one will be happy come Thanksgiving
for it will be over, and whoever will be in the White House will be there,
I just pray that women will stand up between then and now
as we need our voices heard and our bodies left alone and out of politics.
This is a year that has never meant more to women and men who know anatomy and the impact of respect and choice.
It is a time where we have to wonder
as I heard of children who are raped by their Mom's boyfriends; of children who are growing up and wanting to be President and visit the moon as we say so long
to Neil Armstrong who made his mark so long ago.
He now visits the galaxies once again and is seeing the other side eternal.
We are in challenging times
and each day is still a gift.
But make no mistake,
whether folks choose to dwell in the darkness or fight like hell to emerge into the light
it is a choice!
If and when someone chooses to make or speak harshly or ugly to another; a friend or relative or bully in ways that are unacceptable,
it becomes that persons' responsibility, right and ultimately their choice
to say "I'm not going to put up with this or you any longer".
But in saying that, it is also saying that you will not harbor it in your heart or mind, but find a way to move it through you, and OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM... Let it go, and be free of it.
Everyone and I mean everyone has a story, but that does not mean that you need to BE the story.
Choose to live your life with clarity, hope, compassion and choices that are best for your life.
Imagine as many have and have stated they  get so sick of hearing it; meaning the negativity of certain people and situations.
Now imagine how sick someone who is not in that story may get of hearing the replays over time while knowing that you are not moving it from within, not working toward resolution and getting into your ever moving and growing life into the next chapter!
Life is for living with all that you have, it is not a black and white rerun of the past.
Memories that sustain, that fill you up are marvelous,
however those who suck the air out of you, need to be stopped.
Toxic relations are like toxic air;
they make you sick
and over time can kill.
Take control and make choices
that enhance your life,
remembering that bake sale and all the many choices!
Choose wisely friends
...
Make your mark in stone on what you stand for,
lend a hand, give a hand
but do not be harmed by the words or actions of others to the point of losing you in a story that has no ending or leaves you gasping for air that is fresh.
YOU are your most precious resource!

Prayers going up for those in New Orleans and the path of Issac;
may they feel the love and support of the Nation.
...
Special prayers today of support and strength for our warrior here Osh who is needing to know we are with you now as she faces some challenges, and for EE as she continues to fight hard on her health.

Time to be watching for the Blue Moon

BLUUUU MOON
coming Aug 31, Friday!
Get your calendars circled
and ready to gaze at the moon
which may be a welcomed relief with all the news and hurricanes and RNC hot air, along with local news taking up our time and brains!
Nope it won't be actually blue unless you are wearing those blue tinted shades of yours,
but it will give us something to think about since it only happens once in a "blue moon" we're told!
It's our last chance to see it for maybe three years according to the experts; so we don't want to miss that now do we?
I do like the term
"blue moon"
for it is much better than being told
"well folks we get an extra moon this year, this month"...
That just doesn't sound quite as exotic in my mind somehow!
Sort of like getting an extra helping of peas somehow.
But,
a BLUUU MOON, now that is something to get with,
just think, if the right particles or dust happen to move at just the right time, indeed there is the chance for a blue hue to gather at just that moment depending on if you blink or not!
Today we call a blue moon the second full moon in a month, and for those folks who work and who are on the roads, and particularly for those in health care and human services
and the world of caregiving
it is a time to be mindful
as full moons seem to change things and people!
Not always in the best way I might just tell you, as moods and swings just are often like monkeys in the trees doing remarkable things and saying things that leave one wondering
"is the moon full again".
Well here we are, the week of so many happenings and on Friday
we will have
the BLUE MOON
to end out the month of August!
I'm thinking folks will be out with their camera's hoping to get the best shot of this blue moon, and have read where there are others interested in seeing them.
So dust off your lens and keep this in mind;
"If you snap any good photos of Friday's full moon and would like them to be considered for a future story or gallery, please send them to SPACE.com managing editor Tariq Malik" at tmalik@space.com.

That just may be quite fun to see, photos from all over the place sent to space.com
and the blue moon of Aug 31~
...
Ah but for drive-ins and blue moons
as we hear that drive-ins are making a come back.
Life in all its splendor as today the sun is shining and the pool is still where I drained it for the most part, we did not get the harsh rains and winds here.
Yet,
our concerns and prayers are there for those who are bracing for the impact by Issac in LA and we hope for safety to all.
...
As we get ready to say so long to August, may we prepare to welcome September with all that we have to get us ready for fall, and yet many of us have to shake our heads and wonder
"where did summer go so quickly"
...
Prayers are going up today to those in Baltimore where a 15 year old returned to the first day of school with a gun and shot a student but was then grabbed by a teacher and managed to be contained with help until first responders arrived.
The 17 year old is critical; other students are badly shaken, and a teacher showed tremendous courage
on the first day of school
where kids go to learn.
They sure got a fast and potentially deadly life lesson yesterday
one that will imprint on their minds
for life.
Thank you to the educator for finding the courage to stand up
and who was successful in stopping this kid...
how did he manage to get a firearm (*shotgun*) last word was into the school?
...
Be safe out there dear ones
the
BLU MOON IS ON ITS WAY
