Next Stop NYC

Ready to fly ... Times square here I come. Guess I'll have to stand outside waving on that T.V show, now let me think... Al Roker I think it is where folks just wave and are so friendly early in the morning somewhere up there, yes that is the one right before joining the many who fast walk and zoom through the days in cars, taxis and on foot going about doings and goings at fast paces. Oh that's me all right!
I'll wear my Michael Jordan's in order to try and keep up and not get run over, that should work out just fine.

The energy of the city has always amazed me always made me glad to wear dark shades as I find a place to people watch and take mental notes of surroundings and people that move so quickly about their days and nights. Taking it all in and enjoying all the lights, sounds and movements of so many along the way.

It will be an awesome few days of business and pleasure to be sure.

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing please find time to STOP take a deep breath and exhale fully while looking at all that is around you... it will give you balance, it will remind you of the great gifts that surround you.

Blessings to all who gather here.

Off to the airport, and UP UP and away today.
Big city here I come...

Pink Full Moon Tonight

Today just might have you wondering what in the world is going on with people, with traffic, with moods.... rest assured it is the pull of the moon that you will get a view of tonight in all its fullness! The Pink Moon it is called, yet unless you are wearing your rose colored glasses it may not appear so Pink to you at all.
This pink moon brings a lunar eclipse to many if you are in Europe, Africa or Asia, but won't be visible here in the USA however some will tell you they have seen that full moon in its pinkness and its fullness in Aprils before.

This pink full moon got its name  from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Oh how I can remember phlox spreading all over the banks of my beloved Granny's home and in the countrysides and the ways it just appeared magical.

There are other names for this month’s celestial body include the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among Native American coastal tribes the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn. We will see the brightness and can reflect of how folks would gather, hunt, fish and prepare for so much under the light of this April moon, while also being able to imagine the pinkness from the reflection of that phlox being captured in its light.

Having read my thoughts before those in the world of health care, emergency wards trauma centers or the life of caregivers also know the impact of the full moon on people! They are known to ask each other during times when things seem a bit off, or actions or behaviors of others a bit tense, "Is this a full moon?" As it will always appear that things just get ramped up on emotions and actions during times of tide shifts and that moon that seems to be so full and bright while people can sometimes just be of the hook in their actions their pain their behaviors.  That seems to last after the brightest of nights as well as again we see the tides change and people change with the rolling and ever-changing moods of the days along with the nights adjusting to the moon and her after effects.

While skywatchers here in the states may be disappointed that they don't get to see a rich pink moon or the eclipse, what they will see is still beautiful, and if the clouds part they will see the brightness and beauty of our moon. No matter the differences of individuals or groups we will all stand in wonder of the moon and see the same moon full and it will be a night of being United across the lands. And for that I give great thanks that the moon has brought us together. This pink moon traditionally lets us know that it is the end of winter and the beginning of spring glorious and wonderful spring. I so hope that those in Kansas, Colorado, Minnesota and Michigan are really watching this moon and will believe it is time to put away their boots and find their flip flops after such a cold and extended winter there.

Continued prayers and thoughts for those who have been harmed needlessly by acts of terror and meanness across our Nation as we work harder for peace, compassion and kindness.

My continued disgust for Congress who refuse to put the people first as they stay in "self mode" rather than compromise mode to end this mess that is man made while harming so many in sequester and in day to day living. IF only we could cut their salaries, cut the fraud that is dipping into our Nation's abundance, get people working and change what is broken while keeping our money in the pockets of our people. We must remember to stop watering the grass of other lawns while our own grass is parched.

With that said, enough said, it is time to enjoy life enjoy this day...

Optimism; it still rocks

The circle continues... Honesty, trust, Respect and we are all connected within that circle by the heart that beats strong. We can still dig deep to find that optimism even when plugged into social media and scrolling fast past the posts that fill the senses with those who haven't yet learned the power of their posts on others the leaning toward dividing people or labeling people who do not think just as they do or have minds of their own or have made a conscious desicison to embrace home and compassion above all things and circumstances.  Many fully are aware of the complexities of our lives and our world situation along with the recent horror of terrorism in Boston, the fatalities at the explosion in the West. We mourn the losses of our fellow woman and men, yet we do not and cannot throw blame at anyone except for those responsible for the acts of cowardliness and meanness. Many of us have grown weary hearing about the parents who profess their adult children were angels went to the best of schools and had friends, yet set out on a sunny day with explosives to kill. Many of us are hugging our children our families, our friends tighter now once again noting the colors are brighter in our community and working hard not to look over our shoulder as we round each corner at events or crowed places.

Many of us are optimists and insist that we live in the greatest country in the world and that yes things need to be changed for the better, and that change begins within each of us. Many of us recognize that it is in perception and in action to do better to advocate for change and many times it begins with grass roots that are watered and trails of tears that are walked where real change comes from ... Many of us remember welcoming home our Viet Nam Vets and welcoming them home while others spat upon them and politicans lied to them then.
Treaties broken are not new doubt in the workings of top government is not new; ask the first Americans about that one for your answers yet do not make up their history research it or talk to Elders for the truth.

Many of us will hold fast to optimism and to hope as that will sustain us in the darkest of hours while we find reasons to live more fully and to laugh a bit louder rather than become bitter.  Many of us just believe ...

And that is the truth of it.

Blessing to you and yours today and each day.

The sage is burning as I wish you a day of flight above the skuttle butt and the things that weigh you down.

We remember those whose lives have been lost and those who are reclaiming their strength and resolve today. May we as a Nation heal and find what is needed to stand without lines or labels united.

The sights you will see...

Happy Tuesday to everyone and just everything. Oh the sights we can see when we are open to them as we move about the day of possible are just astounding. First we need to power off the news, stand down from the thoughts that get thrown into the brain and the nervous systems of the social media that infect and affect our way of feeling good about ourselves and the beauty of the world and our communities while embracing compassion and kindness. Too much of the terrible, to much of the speculaton and too much of the nasties can make for a day of doubt and horror that infiltrate the wonder that still lives within and around us.
There are many heroes around us, so much to give thanks for that surround us and our lives so precious that we need to stop and celebrate this moment for it while standing in awe of the Creators amazing grace!

Eaglets will move from the nest and get their footing on limbs while watching the view and preparing to soar, those that are the winged ones along with our youth as they find their wings, find their courage find their voices. Some will leave the nest and many will fall, yet with courage, with love and with strength, they will get up and get going again.  We will watch, we will give them what is needed to take flight again, and we will realize that at some point we have taught them all they need to make those choices as they exercise rights while accepting responsibilities both good and bad.  There comes a time we can no longer protect them, no longer make excuses for them; we have set the foundations and realize it is up to them to build their homes on the foundations laid.
Yes the sights you see can astound you, can leave you in awe can restore your faith and sometimes leave you feeling devastated in the wake or they can leave you breathless at the sight.

Soar on , notice everything with awe, play as hard as you work, take the time to notice the sights that bring you joy and fill your soul.

Express gratitude, express and show kindness, compassion, faith, love and hope with each step with each beat of the drum. It is the way of our hearts.

Tips on reclaiming your Inner Strength and paying it forward

Beauty is in our country, in our world, in our homes, within our being. If we just take the time to look within, to look up, look down, look all around and count the many blessings of our lives; while embracing gratitude. During these past months, the last week of terror, of fear, or triggers that led us back to the days of 9/11, of the DC Sniper, of lives gone too soon in a world that at times seems to have gone mad; there is still beauty and inner strength that belongs to each person to claim. To re-claim now more than ever while paying it forward in small and large ways to every living person and thing. It is in these ways that we can re-claim our power, walk through our fears and into our streets and communities feeling stronger, feeling more connected with our heads high and our pride intact. We can offer prayers for the fallen, thoughts for Boston, for Texas, for the many cities and communities devastated by violence and random acts of meanness and cruelty while maintaining our inner strength and dedication to being a part of the solution.
The solution is Unity and walking as one on our Mother Earth while honoring our Ancestors and living our best lives in the here and now of it. If you don't like something ... don't do it. If you have done something to bring shame upon yourself or your family; make it right and follow through with actions so that your words stand for something. If you do not think that things are going right; rather than be disrectful or hateful, right what you can and then leave the rest to addressing who they are wrong with rather than become a part of the ongoing hate campaigns that poison the spirit of others and America herself.
You are the most precious resource you will ever have or find and it is in your light that burns within you that another may find the light they need during times of darkness.
Tips on reclaiming your inner strength begin by becoming more mindful of you, your surroundings, the impact of your thoughts and words.

Sometimes it is hard, these days it is especially hard after times of such horror and tragedy. We need not look far for the goodness though. We need only look to the ones who ran "to" and helped in the face of chaos and terror rather than running away. We only have to remember the survivor who lost both limbs and struggled to come back to a conscious state in order to pen on paper that he had witnessed those responsible and then pick them out of pictures, later allowing himself to be photographed with a "thumbs up" for the world to see a true hero against all odds.

We need only see those who stood fast after running the Marathon, who then ran with warp speed to the hospital and sat for blood to be drawn in their efforts to save lifes with donations.  We only have to think about those who came forward to help to remember that goodness outweighs the bad on even the darkest of days.

We look to Texas where an explosion devastated and killed so many there while others were evacuated and lost their beloved homes in a small community.   We find the goodness in the acts of a man who did not even live there, was off duty and lost his precious life by running into hell trying to save lives there. Another hero of many. We only need to hear that the legend and country music artist Willie Nelson came forward within hours and said, this is my home while letting folks know that the concert he is doing in Texas on April 30 all proceeds will be giving to that fire department that lost 10 and will benefit that town now in shock and grieving so much loss. We only have to look around to see there is still much to believe in, much to celebrate, much to be grateful for as we learn there were plans to do more harm and devastation in Boston with explosives that did not happen.

We must look within and yes at times we must dig deep to find that which gets us moving again and find the courage to pay it forward in as many ways as we can to heighten our kindness to others.

  • Never forget that you are the beginning of all things; take care of you, be gentle with you, stoke the fire within you in order to extend that to others
  • Believe that there is a reason to get up, to smile, to find that child like wonder that exists within all of us and play
  • Be real, authenticity is the only way to keep it real.
  • Limit your exposure to negativity whether on the news, social media or other people
  • Dress in color, look in the mirror and remember that beneath that hair or baldness is a brain that is awaiting your command or directions: Let it know and send the command that YOU are awesome
  • Take every opportunity to improve yourself
  • Take a daily moment to check yourself: "Am I doing/being the best I can be" and then act on the answer
  • Be kind to others, it helps you learn to be kind to you and makes others realize your authenticity and compassion
  • Be lavish with compliments when compliments are due
  • Self-Validate, it is different than bragging
  • Appreciate everything
  • Just because you only have 10 fingers 10 toes, don't stop there when counting your blessings
  • Affirm your qualities and own them: (I am .......................good/gracious/kind/generous)
  • Keep your word/promises
  • Limit yourself to what is reasonable and be proud of your accomplishments
  • Start a journal noting how you are doing, what you are doing for self and others
  • Relax and be patient; things did not get where they are in a day, therefore it will take more than a day to get where you want to go
  • Say thank you for your life (again and again)
  •  Be receptive to compliments when you receive them
  • Listen to music, sing, dance, move
 Embrace buoyancy!
