New Years Eve ~

THIS YEAR IS
ALMOST
BEHIND US~

Heading out to the airport
with the family
I'll be back to finish
this!

I have returned to
bewildered 4 leggeds and a quiet, very quiet
home!
The family is now
in the air
headed to Virginia
after
a hugging and loving
"so long, this was the
best ever Christmas together EVER"

PHoto compliments of the Security Man
that Mom conned into taking!

They are off into the friendly skies now,
although I got a phone call after 15 minutes on my way home
from Buddy Pal
saying,
"Can you come back and get Little Hawks'
Snow Globe? They won't let him take it on the plane!"
Quick U turn
and
back to the airport where I saw Buddy Pal
standing where I had dropped them off,
got the best hug and kiss ever
grabbed the snow globe
and he took off for the gate,
and
once again
I cranked up the special CD
he had made
with a mixture of
Hip Hop/Rap/Country
and
made my way home
through the wonderful memories!
So
here I sit
with a coke and the four-leggeds are wondering around looking for their little Hawk
wondering when he will appear to grab them,
scooping them up to dance
while hearing that laugh
or the basketball dribbles and sounds of the
Swwosh as it goes through
the
NET!

While sad to leave Florida, I know they are looking forward to getting home; home to see what Santa might have left under the tree there, to their Mom... their grandma, their friends...
There at home to ring in the New Year (without my home-made milkshakes which I am sure they will mourn deeply tonight no doubt about that!)

Mom will be glad to be home as well,
to her bed, her quiet zone,
as Granny used to say,
"It's great to go away,
but
it sure is good to be home and sleep in your own bed".

I'll miss my back warmer tonight though!
Little Hawk woke me each time I went into a bone crushing sleep last night, with such important things.
1. "Puddy Pal, Did I say goodnight?"
2. "Puddy Pal, I LOVE you"
3. "Puddy Pal, I'm goin to turn the T.V. on again ok?"
4. "Puddy Pal, look there is Clearwater Beach, isn't it pretty, we've been there right"
5. "Good night again Puddy Pal, I LOVE YOU"
6. 'Puddy Pal, I think you were snoring"
7. "Puddy Pal, are you asleep"
8. "Puddy Pal, Jeepers farted I think"
9. "Puddy Pal, this was the best Christmas, I really mean it"
10. "I DO NOT REMEMBER WHAT HE SAID"
I do remember this went on over hours and most of the night
and
then it was time to get UP!!!

D'Vante was in the back seat, with headphones at the ready... But, he was listening to us til' time for the plane and by now, he probably has them on and is snoozing! Shorts ON, and ready to get home to his friends, his life there. On Jan 12 he will undergo Meniscus surgery on that right knee ~ He now "gets it" that this is big, that he needs to be mindful, to be still and once the surgery is done, to be STILL, and to not try to think about doing anything other than being STILL in order to heal it and to focus, FOCUS, focus on restoring and healing so that when physical therapy begins, he does what is needed to be 110%... Next year he is a senior, #51 Bobcat for the Radford High School Offense Lineman will be better than ever with a healed knee ~
Yesterday he ordered his class ring and oh boy is he over the top about that!

So here we are, the last day of 2010 and what a year it has been..

I am being escorted into the New Year in the photo above by two Dolphins, Auntie V and Dot ... What an experience that was, and I welcome in 2011 with great HOPE that it will be magnificent for all of you.

As we enjoy this blessed and last day of 2010, the sun is shining brightly here today, the temps are rising and it is beautiful here.... Having had a magical holiday with those I love here and there, I can say I am richly blessed in countless ways, with joy through times of sadness, with tears of great gratitude...
I welcome this day, look forward to the darkness of this night as people will gather everywhere. Some with grand celebrations across the world, some have already celebrated, some are anticipating wonderment as they ring in the New Year...

LOVING AND IMPORTANT NOTICE:

If you are going out... please remember the strong message of truth, Drinking and driving is STUPID... do not do it!

Cabs were invented for a reason, designated drivers are a good thing, find one, buy one, rent one, do whatever you need to do to get one...! If you are going to drink, make a plan and work the plan or just STAY HOME where you are safe.  [one more note: People who do not drink will grow tired of hearing the same stories that are often told by those who do drink a lot after about the third time!]

Be gentle with yourself
Remember a lot of folks make those
New Years Resolutions!
Try not to "set yourself up" for failure...
I would say I hope your New Year is all that
you dare to make it for each of you!
Oprah says,
A New Year is a chance once again for all of us to get it right!

Then there is:
"People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas." ~Author Unknown

So it's best to be careful
about those resolutions you know
cos' many make em, then by next month
or
next week
they break em!
So perhaps
all should start small and work tall,
and
just maybe
if all
began
with
I resolve to:
practice random acts of kindness and compassion
and begin with ME
it would be easy
and
would last throughout a life time
and
we would not have to resolve
we
could just
BE!

"May all your troubles last as long as your New Year's resolutions."  ~Joey Adams

On this New Years Eve,
I wish you all that you
HOPE
all that you dream
all that you want for the New Year.

I HOPE to see that ball drop from Times Square once again, but who knows
I might just sleep through it, I don't have two boys to inspire me to "lateness" as they have been doing
in the last couple of weeks
so it may be that
the bed inspires me more than staying awake!

I do know
cuzzie in VA is anxiously awaiting getting them home
and
Little Hawk wore those Michael Jordons back home
on his feet
and
managed to take my camouflage clogs in his suitcase too!
So
I'm minus a pair of shoes
just like back
in the day
when Buddy Pal #1 was little and took my black sneaks
when they fit him
and wore them OUT
but now
he is a size 13
I can just buy him the shoe BOX to wear!!!
So for now, I'll just wait for the little one to grow,
and
HOPE
I end up with some "tight" MJ's for me soon ~

Blessings to all on this last day of 2010
be safe out there,

May The Creator shine on you and yours, and the rainbow always touch your shoulder as you

Do Not Blink ~

Blu Lights
at
Busch Gardens
as we were leaving last night

Good morning in the middle of darkness
in the middle of the night I think.
Oh my, it's still too early to entertain coffee,
but I woke for not particular reason it seems,
still filled with thoughts of
a wonderful day
with family
laughter beyond imagine
yesterday~
We had the best of times
once again.
We sang to a CD that Buddy Pal D'Vante
made just for the Day as we set out
in the cold morning to Busch Gardens.
From rap to hip hop to country
after our first stop
to
The Tarpon Springs Police Department
with
a fresh
and I mean fresh baked couple + dozen
of
home made cupcakes
for those who serve
delivered by
the Godsons of DRSES
and a card
of gratitude and introductions of my boys!

Next stop;
Starbucks for
PUnkin Spice latte
and
Hot Chocolates!

Then
with
Godsons and Mom in the back seat
and
Dorothy driving
and
me riding
shot-gun
the music turned to high volume
we
"hit it"
with
attitude to gratitude and voices heard
in unision

The words changed to fit the boys
as this has become a favorite now when they are here, they know the words by heart, and join in to the top of their lungs... we might just have to take this song on the road~
From that song,  to rap, to "Boom Boom Pow"
and
others we sing, we laugh, the boys get a gleam in their eyes when talking of the roller coasters that are high, that fall that go zoom at 100 miles on the down spin!
Ah, but good times are in store as we note it is
Florida and 47 degrees~
Buddy Pal is in shorts and asking if I will go in the
water flume with them?
Uh, NO comes immediately to mind to me.

Then a song comes on, and I am transported to when my now 16 year old, soon to be a senior next year Buddy Pal was little, really little... and I just have to ask him.
"D'Vante, baby boy, when did I blink?" From there Dorothy and I began sharing memories of D'Vante when he was little, stories of his antics, and once when he had a remote big truck and told Olivia who was about 2 1/2 years old he loved her and then proceeded to have her lay on the floor of the kitchen and try to have his truck run over her body by remote!
Yep that's our boy, the same one who now says he is going to have to go to Maryland to his "little sister" Olivias' house and answer the door when boys show up wanting a date and protect her!!!
Heaven help the boy that shows up at that door is my way of thinking!
Our boys are growing as is Olivia...
we should have duct taped them when they were little.

Do Not Blink,
so much happens when you do.
So much can happen in an instant,
in a heart beat.
Even when you are looking, when you are paying attention, in a flash things and people and situations
change so quickly.
Kids grow up, they change, develop.
We as adults come into our own,
wear so many hats
in our lives.
Hats?
Aren't hats wonderful?

D'Vante and Dorothy
got their "Swagga On"
in safari hats yesterday!
You just nevah know what the two of them
will get into when you put them togetha ~
And
oh boy were they togetha
(when he and little Hawk weren't off on roller-coasters)

"Life can be like a roller coaster... And just when you think you've had enough, and your ready to get off the ride and take the calm, easy merry-go round... You change your mind, throw you hands in the air and ride the roller coaster all over again. That's exhilaration...that's living a bit on the edge...that's being ALIVE." Stacy Charter

Now that quote is quite fitting for Dorothy and D'Vante, they are quite like two peas in a pod in many ways; a special relationship exists there, that is wonderful, rich and heaven helps the fool that would want to try and get between that! They are quite the pair indeed in their hats!
They are quite special the two of them, a special bond exists that goes deeply,
yep, you just don't want to get between that
if ya know what is good for ya.
Dorothy loves her some D'Vante
and he some kinda loves his Aunt Dorothy too.
Dorothy has always been there for D'Vante, serves as a mentor, a guide, and one that he turns to when he needs advice and always one he can rely on, as well as one to provide "many roles/hats" to look through different sides of his brain!
Then of course

We have,
COB, aka, MOM aka DOT aka the GENERAL
aka Boss HOG
aka "Auntie Dot"
in her new "Fresh Shades"
running through Busch Gardens, dancing through
Busch Gardens and having a blast
in many layers of clothing!
A true fashion plate according
to
Little Hawk and several on the path
who
commented on her
new shades!
O how Dorothy was putting on different hats
and "stylin" yesterday ~
She does wear many hats in her professional life
sometimes one would think it enough to change her
hair color,
BUT
red?
Oh my life is a glorious adventure!

Then of course
there was
LITTLE STAR HAWK
The prince of
swagga, fresh, and "sick"
in shades
Miami Heat jersey
and
"Michael Jordons" sneaks
He had been on those roller coasters
was wet from the water rides
and still was all jacked up from knowing
this was the best Christmas ever
and it was still going strong!
Again
the important thing to remember is
you can Never ever ever
have
too much
LAUGHTER
LOVE
DANCING
MUSIC
(roller coasters is you are Little Star Hawk and Buddy Pal)
and
Sugar
And
of course
I found me a
Fedora
with sparkles!
So now we must add
YOU
can never Ever EVer
have too many Sparkles!
I do love me some
SPARKLES!
Sparky is real real
good...

So as we danced, and walked
did I mention WALK?
And people watched, and laughed throughout the day,
we also listened to many languages from across the globe, we saw much
and
had the best of days.
We even saw some who argued, who threatened their kids
and threatened with things like
"We are leaving right now"
NOw that was funny... given how much those tickets cost, we knew that was a false threat!
Funny how those "Hallmark moments" just went poof
in a place of such great times for a few...

BUT
those Godsons let us know
this was the best of times and for that
we give great thanks.
AND
so it is good, very good.

And
somewhere
something or someone will have had a moment
in their lives
a magical and powerful moment
where something just happens
something just
clicks!
It may be while trying on a
'Hat'
sitting in a car
listening to a song
or
just thinking.
And
all of a sudden
things just happen
you feel it deeply within
where the Creator has always been,
you feel your power rise up
and
find your way, your voice
your inner ability
to rise up
like the
Phoenix
from the ashes.
It may just be a defining moment
where life changes
where a
Warrior rises
and says
"This is It"
and life is forever changed.
STOMP
Once a person has that defining moment
it is remarkable
as once you take a stand
it is liberating
in ways unimagined.
Like a child who stands on the edge of a pool or the side of a boat and leaps without fear into waters below,
trusting that they will be better than ok,
they will flip and dare to dream.
Adults can do that too.
They can
Stand
STOMP
and let their hearts and souls determine their lives.
It is only when you find your voice
and
Take a STand for Self
that you are able, fully able to Stand for those that matter
and to Stand with amazing grace
and
the power of a Warrior.

“There comes a time when you have to stand up and shout:  This is me damn it! I look the way I look, think the way I think, feel the way I feel, love the way I love! I am a whole complex package. Take me... or leave me. Accept me - or walk away! Do not try to make me feel like less of a person, just because I don't fit your idea of who I should be and don't try to change me to fit your mold. If I need to change, I alone will make that decision.
When you are strong enough to love yourself 100%, good and bad - you will be amazed at the opportunities that life presents you.” Stacey Charter

STAND UP
STOMP

Find your warrior within
There are those who love you, those who need you
and
those who want to see
YOU
outshine the sun.
Get you a ggood pair of shades
for when you
Stand in the lights
your future will be so bright
it can burn your eyes!

Do Not Blink~
Check out The North American Black Bears

http://www.bear.org/
speaking of not blinking! The Den Cams will be going live very very soon, you will see Lily and HOPE in their dens as they are sleeping... Talk about blinking... many across the globe will be glued to their screens, you can really count on the eye strain soon!
Lily The North American Black Bear
gave us
HOPE
we could learn much from the
North American Black Bears.

The fire is burning brightly, its embers are hot... The sage is filling the air with
HOPE and loving thoughts for those in the prayer bowl
and those who enter here, warriors all.

Yippee Skippe, Attitude of Gratitude ON

Good morning Morning!
Yep,
Michael Jordons
ON
my feet!
And
they belong to
none other than
little Star Hawk Kamryn
and his 9 year old feet!
Quite a perfect fit on me I might just add ~!
Can't wait for him to "outgrow" these
for
Da Godmother ~

Coffee hot,
attitude of gratitude is overflowing this morning.
Read the comments of yesterdays' thoughts
and
was my heart was overflowing with the love
felt by the words of the warriors
who visit here.
As I read the comments of others, many who take a stand, it once again reminds me that light always outshines darkness... and yes, integrity stands strong always.
This page is filled with many Warriors of gentle but strong spirit,
and for that I give thanks,
and so
it is good, very very good.
STOMP

This morning we are hitting the road early
off to
visit, laugh, sing and play
at
Busch Gardens in Tampa
to watch and explore with these two boyz
as they run and wonder and wander
all over the place.
Oh boy
they have high plans
to ride all the rides
and
zippidy doo dah
on those
roller coasters throughout the day!
I'll be on the ground to snap photos after they do all of that and so much more!

Little Hawk will probably wear those
"tight" Jordons though,
so
I will just have to settle for my old sneaks
but sure they will do just fine!

The laughs will fill the day, the memories will be etched forever in our hearts and our day will be so very bright we will all need shades on I have no doubt.

Yep
I sure do look
"fly" in those Michael Jordons
I'm thinkin!
Kamryn (aka) little Star Hawk thinks so too,
and
so it goes,
so much to feel grateful for this morning.

Great friends, great followers of this sacred and special page that has turned into so much more than
a
"blog".
The season of the holidays that warms the senses
and hearts across our globe,
a feeling of good will,
HOPE
kindness and compassion that can last lifetimes
carried through generations
all right here
right now.
No matter what anyone will ever tell you
you can never ever
laugh enough
love enough
sing enough
dance enough
rejoice enough
shine enough
be enough
or
have too much sugar!

Lily The Black Bear and baby HOPE are snoozing away
while the den cams are having their final set ups
with plans to go live for the world to watch very soon.
You will be captivated as the world watches and the internet goes wild with being amazed at the close and personal world of wild bears in their world.
Much unlike that of humans and their needs, wants
and immediacy at times.
Humans can learn much, if they are but open to the opportunities there.
And then again,
when the student is ready
the teacher will always appear in life!
` ~ `

I have known people that are in horrific pain, going through terrible physical and emotional trials,
but
they are able and choose to embrace the light, love
and
laughter.
The same people who take the time
to care
to shift the focus from self
to
other
and ask for nothing in return.
It continually amazes me
the resiliency of the human spirit.
The ability to choose
to embrace light, to want to live with goodness,
in compassionate and kind ways
even in times of great personal and often physical pain.

You can never ever ever
have to much
Love
Light
Laughter
Music
Kindness
Compassion
Truth
Spirit
Faith
HOPE
Fun
Wonder
AWE
Magic

Believing
or
too much sugar!

Wherever you are today
Whatever you are doing, do it with all you have
with the love of the
Universal Oneness that lives
within you
that loves you deeply
that gives you
all you need
to
choose wisely
and
lovingly.

The fire is burning brightly the sage is filling the air, with thoughts on the wind for all who enter here, all who have chosen to stand in the lights along with me, warriors all.
