LET'S DO THIS
LOVE HOPE COMMUNITY
FOR THE CURE
of
MS
We all know of Multiple Sclerosis; many of us love someone with this horrible disease. Many have read blogs here with the stats, the stories, the need for the cure, the current research that leads us to know a cure is on the way!

July 1 is going to be one more of the many events happening around the country where folks will gather in community, hope, compassion to raise money for research, for the desire of the NOW to set the sun down on MS.
Laura, pictured here on the left is throwing this event together; MS walked in to her life uninvited. Her daughter Shawna on the right has dedicated her life to riding her butt off out in TEXAS each year with thousands at the BPMS150, practicing each day, putting more miles on a bike than most do in their cars. She rides in honor of Laura for the cure. Each and every year, Laura flies to Texas to be standing there at that finish line with open arms to meet both Shauna and Dixie as they complete that 170 mile ride after 2 solid days of riding... to reach their goals of raising monies for the CURE.  They will not stop, the bikes will not be put in storage. Their butts will ache, their muscles will seize and there will be times they will crash along with others on the routes. But they get up, dust themselves off, put band-aids on the blood and they ride on. Many will walk for MS Awareness, many will throw money in buckets they see across town, others will organize bake sales, car washes, education fairs.

Still others will bury their heads in the sand pretending MS does not affect them and move about their day none the wiser or more blessed or educated.

Life can be like that at times.

MS gets on millions of people's nerves, affects the lives of those we love. Here we are getting ready to Help the Sun Set on MS with a view of the Anclote River.

Good Advice:

Just a little thought that all can use from time to time. Surprised I haven't seen this as a tat on someone's side or back... the ocean is filled with sage advise as it rolls in, rolls out with gifts, messages, with healing sounds. To stand on the shore or submerge a body in the waters feeling the energy we can't help but look out seeing the vastness of our world. Remembering that each movement is fluid in nature, the ripple effect continuing on and on ... just as casting a pebble into a creek at times only on a grander scale. When I saw this sign I had to smile thinking of the many messages, advice, guidance the water holds for each person in the world in real experiences or in thoughts images, photos or dream states. Likened to each action, each word, each thing that touches or finds its way to another... Lessons or blessins' or both.

No need to look back, not good to turn your back to the ocean even when she appears calm... never know when the tide will rise and surprise you!  Always best to be ready for the changing tides, the shift in winds, the ability and desire to change the sails rather than try to change the wind... most important to stay afloat and keep moving, keep looking at the wonder in the world, the beauty along with the gifts that life has to offer.

To sea life's beauty even at times through pained eyes or storms of life... to roll with the tides.  Yep, there are many gifts and sage advise from Mother Ocean...

Wishing you a day that is outstanding... as I hurry to get Kamryn to basketball camp, and off to Tampa airport to pick up my baby girl Olivia! This is her first solo flight to see the Nana... this house will be rockin as we outshine the sun, rolling with the tides.

Color me happy .... to be so blessed

I wish you enough.

Thank you to those who are serving, have served and their families... those who are working around the clocks to get those fires in the west under control. Deb in Colorado, her son and 4 legged are now safely at home, the evacuation order has been lifted. The best of news as they now settle in with all that is happened, we hold them and those there in prayer of healing from the traumas suffered there.
FIREFIGHTERS are awesome. God Bless them all .

Wildfires in the West/Floods in Canada, so horribly sad

I cannot imagine... as the fires, the smoke, the dear friend of ours out in CO had to evacuate from the threat of losing their home... I just cannot fathom the pain, the warzone looking pictures, the heat, smoke, emotional physical pain being suffered.  Tens of thousands of acres burning as firefighters continue to work endlessly to contain wildfires, as people have left their possessions seeking safety. Some on the floors of shelters, having to part with their animals there. Others seeking hotels, still others parked in truck stops sleeping in cars at night, sitting in booths during the day eyes glued on the televisions monitoring the fire line. All praying or hoping or both that they can return safely home. Nerves frayed, coping skills either enhanced or destroyed by the very real threat that a state is suffering as they listen for the sounds from overhead of planes to dump that red stuff ... and rain to fall hard and constantly to stop what either Beetles started or lightning or someone with evil intent began with a match.

I just cannot imagine.

Homes destroyed, animals dazed, harmed now wandering out onto the interstate seeking safety as thousands sit in disbelief and traumatized by such devastation of their beloved home, the mountains on fire there.  Here on the East coast we hear little about it, occasional news bits letting us know that wild fires are flaming in CO, NM, UT, CA... acres are burning. We don't really see the war zone surroundings or hear what folks are going through.

Unless we happen to know someone, or see newsfeeds on social media, we are rather oblivious to the reality of what is happening, yet we wonder... where is the big planes, the military the National Guard, the ones that are the specialists at times like this?

My dear friends EE, (Deb) her son, their feisty little dog named Daisy, their bird Misty, all in a van had to leave home. She on continual oxygen, in a power chair, all they took was themselves the clothes on their backs, some canned food and they were gone. With tears of thinking they may never see "home again", off they went through thick smoke that was visible for miles and miles.

I just cannot imagine ...
Now they have been given the clearance to return home, to their beds, her hospital bed, his bed in his bedroom. The 4 legged is joyous, running back and forth celebrating HOME. Yet they are on stand by for a 10 minute bug out still... Can you imagine it?

I read where an itty bitty bug, the Beetle has been eating the pines there, rendering them dry, therefore easy to spark, easy to fire up. I read where a train sparked on a rail causing the first of fires, lightning the culprit on another.. an arsonist perhaps even responsible of another All continue to claim the lands of tens of thousands of acres .... dry dry lands in need of soaking rains.

We continue to hold Deb, CJ, up in thoughts and prayers there. To hold the state up in thoughts of hope in healing the pain and trauma that comes along with fire and devastation.

So much, is happening

Meanwhile, in Alberta Canada the floods have claimed lives, have changed the landscape... would that we could send the water to CO, to UT, to AZ, to NM and CA.  The floods recovery will take more than 10 years it has been reported now.

I cannot imagine this.... the diversity, the horror, the fear and polar opposites ...

The evacuation orders for most homes have now been lifted, funerals are now being planned while many more must be postponed until the water recedes. Would that the water could be lifted to the wildfires.

Many are now consumed with talks of climate change.... would that they also taked of the cost of tragedy on the human spirit. The effects on the mind, the words shared or thoughts expressed The nerves now raw as people try to absorb their experiences from destruction and threat.

I can only HOPE, pray, send good energy into the Great Universe today for healing.

I ask that you join me. That you hold up each and every person in harms' way today, that they may feel the Universal Oneness of spirit to give them just a bit more of what they may find themselves needing to do what is needed.

Thank you to all first responders, to those who serve.

I wish you enough.

Watch your step, Nic Wallenda walked it

HAPPY MONDAY MORNING....... did you see it? The wire walker who stepped just right, one foot in front of the other on the wire across the Grand Canyon yesterday! As millions watched, as the twitter feed #skywalker #wirewalker #OMG her carefully placed one foot in front of the next and walked the length of 3 football fields and was successful!

The view below enough to make a person weak in the knees and at awe of the world, as he continually gave praise we watched in amazement, the 40+ pound pole he carried effortlessly to assist in his balance swaying ... The shoes reminding me of worn leather gloves showed the precision in each step with wind gusts seeming to want to take the jeans off his legs.  We watched. Of course with my ever keen balance, getting up to do something I almost tripped on my own feet making my way to the kitchen, but he didn't seem to mind, as he continued on. Stopping for a moment, kneeling down on that wire... the world watched as did his family on the other side of the canyon.

The man just did it; he walked across the Grand Canyon with no net, no clips, no nothing but his own desire to make it happen. The world watched him embrace others when he "ran to the finish" on that wire with a smile on his face first kissing the ground.  He seemed to favor his little girl, the older son, to then "bump" the little boy rather than embrace him, grab a water, return to the edge while standing and just being in that moment of "look where I just came from".

22+ minutes on a wire across the Grand Canyon, one little step ... one foot in front of the next, mindfully, prayerfully, he kept walking to fulfill his dream. He was successful after all that training, conditioning praying he DID IT.

just as each person does it each day. They walk their own wire, their own great challenge carrying their own "pole" or burdens across Grand Canyons or valleys or through the most seemingly impossible situations. It is in learning to use those "poles" or troubles/burdens heartaches for balance that is in the secret to allow mindful movement. The ability to keep moving with small but deliberate steps, one and then the next, stopping when needed for only a short time... then steady standing once again placing one foot in front of the next ever so carefully in order to continue on.

HAPPY MONDAY TO YOU, may you continue on... one step, one breath at a time.
/Congratulations Nic Wallenda on your most remarkable skywire walk... May you celebrate you well as you hug all in your life passionately!

Paula Dean and the "N" word and the MEDIA

The "N" word... seems Paula Dean along with millions and millions have used it, yet Paula Dean a woman of the south, raised up in a time when folks said it in sentences as "colored folks" lived cross town, many worked in the homes of whites even times of segregation. Now a woman who has entertained her friend Oprah, sat on her swing telling stories of days gone by with both she and Gayle King is in deep water for saying, "yes I said it, I am sorry that I did." She said it in the past; she said she said it, what in the world is wrong with people. the Food Network in their political correctedness now wants or will get rid of her. Do you think that will really hurt her financially? I do not think so. It's the reality of insanity full tilt folks.

That's not good enough though, now the press, the media, the Today Show, The Food Network have made it NEWS as they are bringing it out in a way that is beyond disgusting to give folks something to latch onto like a dog on a bone while fueling hatred calling her a racist. This is the stuff that can drive a person once again to the streets of madness.

Words are powerful, actions and feeding the wrong wolf in media are similar to giving poison to children telling them it is candy. They feed on it to extreme.  I myself am not a big fan of Paula Dean, but she is human, a woman who recently was attacked when she announced she had diabetes by the press and the world as then she was judged by her lifestyle, her use of "butta in her food, her grits her recipes, her weight". People these days love to attack, seem to be looking for a reason to point the finger of great judgment on others with voices of outrage.  Where is our OUR outrage of how we treat folks. As Oprah has now spent millions on a museum in D.C. to honor history, folks in America are hurting, hungry... do you think she has not uttered the "N" word ?
Really?

The press fuels it while the population then takes off like a wildfire with no water spreading it with their own take along with judgment. Leaving us to wonder, has the world truly gone mad.  Racism being accused of a 65+ year old famous woman who said the "N" word now ... a network who is ready to drop her from their station. The Today show now stooping so low to make this sensational, while now little kids are asking, "why is she a racist?" Who said she was a racist I had to answer... stop watching the news!

Meanwhile I am getting to hear rap; hearing of others who use the "N" word as often as saying "hello" yet no one seems to care, or they are afraid to open their mouths as the tweets flow even as recently as the NBA Miami Heat won their game on my Twitter Feed from the famous.  We hear the comedians use it, the actors say it, the kids and adults on the corner where we do business, most recently on T-shirts in NY I saw it for sale bold letters to wear.

Where is the press, the outrage, the foul crys of stop the press, stop the million dollar bling sales and put a halt to the messages?

We can't have it both ways, it is right it is wrong. People say things, some later regret it, some make millions off it, some do it for the flash and the effect.

Last I checked Paula Dean, Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, Jay Z, Charlie Sheen, George Bush, Samuel Jackson, Morgan Freeman, Chris Rock, Repulicans, Democrats, the NAACP... have used "cracker, white trash, and THE N WORD" without being put on trial or in front of a blaring media campaign to be ruined. The public has not been so very wound up as they are now looking for reasons to crucify others as they are now that I can ever remember with such a level of distrust, hate, anger.

It would seem to me, that it is time for others to work in their own closets, their own yards, within their own souls now.  IT is past time.

The news this week has been Paula Dean, how awful she is. The only break from that has been the announcement of the Kim/Kanye West baby named "NORTHWEST".
That just did it for me.  It was proof that both of them would be great endorsements for birth control.  The world continues to weigh in on that as well; the press, the media, just about everyone taking air time on a baby born to a woman who makes gazillions of dollars doing nothing for the greater good of humanity and her family, who slept with someone famous now appearing as if he doesn't know what he was thinking.
Maybe they should have named that baby, "Key West, Out West, Gone West, Wild Quest West"

It's past time... folks remembered the realities of the world. We've seen things come round more than once where ignorance and times were hard times. The south was the south, folks were fueled by fire. Remember the movie the HELP, remember Gone with the Wind.

Remember ... Martin Luther King the dream, and those of us who have walked for civil rights so long ago as it seems the young bloods have forgotten. The conservatives have pitted with arsenals against those not so tight, the liberals those who drink tea, those who stand on liberty and independence?

It's time we remember we are one. Watering our yards, our souls and offering a drink to each other of soothing cool waters knowing that we are human, each a work in progress.

There's bigger fish to fry than Paula Dean saying the "N" word,  apologizing for its use, now still in the news about it.

There are 10's' of thousands of acres burning in Colorado, people with little to no financial resources trying to seek safety in little hotels wondering if their homes will burn to the ground awaiting air support to get these fires contained.  There's hail in the Dakotas devastating what is there with threats of lightning. Where is the coverage, where is FEMA, where is the big bands to send relief to those folks in harm's way.

Yet the songs continue on the radio, over you tube the air waves with the "N" word, killing white folks, raping women or beating them by top line artists and no one, NO ONE is raising hell or calling them out.
I know this as Kamryn had me listening to it last night while we discussed Paula Dean being a racist in his 11 year old mind along with the difference between the two.

#Today Show #Media you are killin us here. When our kids think that everyone has or is getting along, will not judge them, you take this and instill fear in them.  what who do you think you are?

Prayers goin up for those in the line of those fires ... as EE and her son are out of there home seeking safety now with the 4 legged.

#Paula Dean, don't let the ones who judge run you down. Stand up, seek some support from those who know you, and move along, this too shall pass.

LOVE can be seen, it takes no words ... This photo says all anyone will ever need to know about Paula Dean.

I suggest these (wish I had patented this) for all to use on their ears when watching the news or talking to stupid.

Wishing you a most wonderful day today and every day.

Happy First Day of SUMMER~

It's official... SUMMER TIME is here. Happy first day of summer to everyone and just everything. Let the waters get warmer, the drinks get colder as we dance to the music with longer nights embracing this wonderful life! Summer Solstice, lovin it I am. Kamryn and Dot/Mom/Cob arrived safely yesterday afternoon. I watched as they approached the car, trying to keep calm noticing a taller Kamryn walk with a grin toward me.  The hugs were the best ever. It did not take long before I realized ...
We were head to head in the hug; it is not only the first day of summer, it is a milestone.
My little Godson is now the same height as the Godmother as he makes his visit this year.

Stay calm I kept saying to myself, no tears, no sledgehammer to try to get him little again... (sigh).... As we drove home, I glanced to at his face, his hands, his legs, those big feet from time to time. He spoke of stopping at the Lucky Dill to eat a Trump burger that is stacked so high you have to laugh imagine it going into a mouth... I told him he was too big, reminding him of always telling him to "reach for the stars" when he was little, now wishing i would have said, "reach slow". He found that quite funny.

Yet he has been reaching, stretching, has passion... He took care of that big ole' burger, a couple of rolls, a bowl of Matza Ball soup before we hit home, then found the basketball to show me new wicked skills before we hit the pool to practice.

OH I forgot to practice between visits... (my back and arms are wondering who let the Kam out)... We sat and had deep conversations in the pool; wondering about spirit, about death, life, things that go bump in the dark. Who I've known longer, he or Olivia... Just little chit chat that always leaves me wondering "how does he think about these things for months and then blast me with them"... He wished Olivia would just show up right then and there. Yet soon she too will join us on her first solo flight. Da mama already going through separation anxiety as she counts down the days to be with Nana with joy!
Together she and Kamryn will take me down memory lane, make me want a hammer to pound them back down to little ones, and amaze me with their abilities of wonder, sheer joys and their minds.

Together they will laugh, have fun, wonder who Nana loves more I am also sure.
They will just have a ball!

They love to explore, love to eat. Kamryn and Olivia inquire about things. Here Olivia with her first Calamari, wondering ... checking it out. Yesterday Kamryn with his first Matza Ball Soup.. wondering thinking, lovin it.

Summer is just like that. turn up the heat, get on your bathing suit, the water is warm, the drinks are cold, the nights are longer. Let's get this party started....

Oh I am just giddy with the thoughts!
 Hello Summer, welcome to ya!~

Let us remember though in our excitement and enjoyments those who are in great dangers; great losses, those who are hurting.
Prayers goin up for those in the face of the wildfires of Colorado that continue to burn fiercely, those in CA, Utah, AZ... may you all be safe there.

Fire and Rain

Colorado is burning... wildfires that are out of control are spreading now throughout the state. We've also heard where fires are burning wild in California, Utah and Arizona.
Thousands of homes, people, animals in harms way as infernos are topping the mountain trees, as people are packing the necessities nervously awaiting the news they need to leave their precious belongings and homes.
In little communities the able bodied, the disabled are feeling the effects of smoke, of tension that has their bodies tight, their nerves frayed, their core being on alert.
News of "Not contained", news of "Not enough resources, not enough Firefighters" keeps flooding the televisions and news feeds.
Last night a little church was emptied after a woman arrived breathless to let others know of the announcement to evacuate homes of those there as the sun set looking like a ball of fire. The smoke billowing for miles, the air thick with smoke making many cover their mouths running to their homes turning on the news. More fires had ignited in those precious mountains and it was moving quickly.  Emergency plans had to be thought of with minds that were now under fear, under siege of "what if and how will I"...

Real threat for those who have worked hard to have what they have, others who live small to those who live tall. All at risk of losing it if the flames come too close, the smoke too thick, now being told to turn off the A/C in 90 degree heat while waiting for word. Waiting for the news to tell them the obvious. "Stay inside, breathing smoke is hazardous, do not exert energy outside today."

The day before our official day of summers' beginning and the heat is on in those states under extreme heat, fire, raw nerves. Many without resources to leave their home finding hotels out of harms way, many wanting to stay where they are protecting their sanctuary known as home.

Still others sit wondering why they have not heard from loved ones, from friends. Surely those from a distance have heard the news yet the phone is not ringing with the concerns of others, the very real amazement that this is happening to someone known and cared about. Minds are sending shock waves to systems already taxed, already burdened with fear, with the unknown, the uncertainties of fire.

Scary is a word that seems to not do justice to the pictures of such devastation as we see, the people strong yet strong cannot contain fires with this magnitude. Images that hurt your heart, that sear your soul as those on scene are using each breath to fight something bigger than they could imagine in so many places. People on oxygen who still are having trouble breathing ... those at home confined to power chairs, hospital beds now fearing they will have to be on the floor of a shelter, wondering how in the world they will ever handle the physical pain of getting on a floor along with who will be able to get them UP again.  the thousands of winged ones, of crawlers, of 4 leggeds now stuck, or gasping for air, being found motherless and fleeing the inferno that is blazing.  where is the RAIN... where are the black hawks, the military the trained and the firefighters of our Nation. Are they on their way to save those in such dire straits... Oh Creator, send in the troops now. Send in the rain, just the rain.

Asking all to hold up Colorado, those who are preparing the "bug out bags" now at the ready, yet wonder where they will go. Prayers for those in Arizona, Utah, California... the Responders... Let us find the rain the helpers the ones who will let this burn clean and burn OUT quickly and please let it happen NOW.

Prayers, thoughts, energy being sent to EE and her son as they are now 15 miles from raging fire in Walsenburg CO... along with all who are in harms' way.

Blessings to each of you,

Summertime; have a splash

The water is callin' wherever you are, whatever you are doing... It's time to jump in, get your feet wet, feel the summer heat!

It's time to lay back, chill axin, and living for the weekend as many are making plans for the long awaited vacations, beaches, mountain tops or stay-cations to just be.

Whatever it is, whether in your mind, in your dreams or in reality... make a splash, make a jump that creates ripples all around felt by all in good ways.  Each thought, each good deed, each wag of the tongue, each word... the ripples will affect or infect all.
the heat is on ... in ways that we can control the remotes, the volumes, the neurotransmitters of our brains.. the messages we send and receive with enthusiasm, good words well thought out before getting that tongue rolling in ways that allow us to smile wide, laugh often and enjoy each day in new ways delighting ourselves and those we meet along the journey.

The waters are waiting... we've all seen them in our minds eye. some of us can get to them easily, while others dream of the opportunity to make that splash, that dunk, that moment of toes in the water and ass in the sand.  Find your way to that moment, take that deep breath and let yourself smell the salt air, the wind on your face, see the dolphins dancing and take the plunge.... come up to the surface and celebrate the wonder of YOU!

Wishing you an outstanding day of sunshine, of music that moves you, memories that heal you, and the want of more... to motivate you.

It's countdown time here; the Kamryn and Dot are due to touchdown in 2 days followed by my Olivia 5 days later. It's party time for us then...
With all of us being kids splashing and eating banana splits for dinner, now it just can't get much better than that after days of toes in the water and, well you know the rest!

 I wish you enough!

Fathers Day; Happy Dad's day to those out there who are the strong Dad's, the Dad's that show up and show out.. and a stand up for the Mom's who have stood as both in the lives of their children, those single Mom's or Mom's who now stand as Dad may be gone from sight.

For those who are remembering Dad's once with you, once so important in your lives, remembering the love, the joys, the big hand that took yours when you were little or when you needed a shoulder... Look up, look around, pause and feel the love that is eternal.

May the blessings be with you, the love be felt strong, and pennies found remind you of heaven and the walk on that has happened while you are still be looked on.

For those who never knew or had that Dad, hug yourself, feel the love of the Universal Oneness of Creator and feel thankful... for all that is, has been, and is yet to be.
