Dick Clark, "Thank YOU"

I saw this on Facebook and I had to think... "how will we bring in the New Year without Dick Clark?
Well played Mayans! It was rather funny once I got past that thought,
since their wheel did not go past 2012 and the icon and our memory holder, magic maker of music and legend
Dick Clark has died!
A man who brought so many to the lights and record sales over the moon, then went on to rock around New Years Eve in homes and Times Square for 38 years
now dances in the lights on the other side!
Leaving some of us to wonder,
how we will see in the New Year without Dick Clark?
I cannot imagine it yet; it sure will take some getting used to.
I've been so involved in such great memories since his death
of all the music, the memories flooding my senses; the dances, the sounds, the times of just singing and not realizing the family was watching back when!
I've watched the you tube videos and laughed at the styles, the dresses and suits, the "swag" of those then.
Looking at the artists of the time;
Prince and his shyness, Aretha and her thinness yet her humility before fame, of Michael Jackson as a young and wee one, of Lionel Richie and that afro and his pure voice!
Buddy Holly and his rock, Madonna and her beginnings of wild!
Dick Clark started Patti Labelle and so many others. And we all know that was a time when there was clear cut lines to separate colors, yet this was a man who did not see color; he looked for talent and heard MUSIC, the Universal beat and sound of MUSIC.
He was the first to bring the Music, through the people together!
Oh we should all be thanking
Dick Clark for a life well lived, as we all grew and reaped great benefits in our own lives as a result of him, we all became better because of him through the power of music!
Did he reap rewards becuase of it?
Of course he did, and well he should have, he worked his whole life,
and I am glad he was blessed fully by that work!
Oh I would have loved to see his Flinstone home in California,
what an awesome place for him to live and love and how outrageous
a view!
Now about the ball dropping on Times Square... Perhaps he loved Ryan Seacrest, and has groomed him well for taking over this magnificent job. It does seem that Ryan may be the one to take that on as he has grown leaps and bounds for a young man in the entertainment world; with what appears to be a body filled with energy, so far free of negatives, appears to be genuine in his approach to others, likable, and one who is headed for a full life of success.
His love of Dick Clark is apparent;
his road appears to be wide open to the future of entertainment as he stays busy, stays focused and driven, and is incredibly well connected to great stardom.
He does wear a fashionable suit and tie, reminiscent of Dick and has a handsome grin, nice teeth, and beautiful head of hair!
So it just may be there is a new generation that reminds us of all that might be another icon in the making...
But there will never ever be another
Dick Clark!
I hope for Ryan Seacrest a most successful New Years Rockin Eve
and I have no doubt it will be one that is painful for him, as he rises to it with Dick's memory, with his energy and with the strength to do him proud as he takes over
and honors him.
I wish him the best in his career as the bar has been set high by a man of greatness who has done so much for so many along the way,
and the great voices have all checked in with their love and gratitude since his death.
I certainly have enjoyed the dance down memory lane as I remember, as I dance once again, and can't help but reflect on the music, the beat, the wonderment of all that greatness.

THANK YOU Dick
thank you ABC
for all the years and all that you have done for all of us
along the way.
Remember bloopers and practical jokes? LOL
Let the music and dance play on.
My prayers and thoughts with all the family, the friends, and with all of us
as we dance on remembering
American Bandstand and the man behind the mic and the one who sat with the kids, bringing it all into our homes so long ago, and then went on to showing us how to rock in the New Year from Times Square as the ageless teenager to a man who after a stroke came back and still showed us how to continue to live with courage and abilities right up until the moment he died.
Chubby Checker; remember? LET'S TWIST~
James Brown and that footwork;
Aretha and that voice;
Frankie Avalon, James Darrin, Paul Revere and The Raiders, PATTI LABELLE, Little Stevie Wonder, Ike and Tina Turner, Jackie Wilson, Smokey Robinson, Jerry Lee Lewis ...
Oh the list goes on and on!

THANK YOU AGAIN DICK CLARK!
I'm not dancin in the street,
I'm sittin here dancing in my seat!

Ok, a reader asked for this today,
a video on Dick!
Of course that was after receiving an email from her that just made me laugh and spit water on the computer!
As many know, I am rather bad at checking emails (as my assistant reminds me quite often), and I had let this particular reader know that in the past in an email I think that may have begin, "forgive the delay, my assistant lets me know that I'm often delayed/bad at checking on emails..."
So yesterday, when receiving a request on a video I also received an email letting me know that this reader has been holding something in and just couldn't hold it a moment longer!
It read: "YOU are right, Your assistant needs a raise, you are bad about answering emails, now I have said it I feel better!!! Followed by a series of "LOLOLOL"
I got so tickled I spit water all over the screen!
...
So folks, just keep those emails coming!
Thanks for calling me out Osh, I will do better, (I'm on Indian time)
but I do answer all!
So, in closing
I wish you all a day
of
MUSIC, GRatitude, Great moments, and
DANCE, SING, and do NOT worry if anyone is watching ... or listening!
So then,
"Thank YOU Dick Clark"
and
This is for YOU!
And those who asked that I keep it real on the videos, and for Osh, here's one for you and for Dick!
Get your hairbrush, rat tail comb, paper towel roll, lint rollers ready,
and
SANNNG/DANCE
let's do it for Dick
and ourselves today!

W A I T !!!!! only got 2 minutes into your video and was dancing, swinging and howling to YOU, Dr. SES, you effin NUT ! Thanks for brining me to my feet and joy to my heart, a big smile to my face, remembering Dick Clark and Barry Manilow's voice just-a-singin' his heart out. Roar, howl, snort ....
As I turn the pages of my 2012 calendar, I just KNOW we will not see New Year's eve or next year.
Mayans rock and so Dick Clark exited stage left right on time.
Have a wonderful weekend, make each day count, cause the END IS NEAR !!!!!! Eat cake, don't stay

Watched the remaining minutes of the bubble master tribute to Dick.
You must have had MAJOR coffee today, (lol, just kidding)
Dr. Sherry, you are a one-of-a-kind
Now, seriously: I went to high school with a pair of "special" twins who were OBSESSED with Dick Clark. Discovery Health did a special on them and a local Tampa Radio Station DJ arranged for them to fly to California to meet Dick Clark. If any of you saw this special or heard of it, let me know....... RIP Dick....
