The Words of Some are Brilliant!

D'Vante said
"IT WAS THE BEST GIFT EVER"

Oh the wonders of computers,
of
IPODS
IPADS
of
Cell phones
of
Smart phones
of
being
"connected"
of
"signing on"
and
"FACEBOOK"
and
the
"greatness of keyboards"
and
"tuning in"
and
"turning on"
and
"staying connected"
and
"being glued to the screen"
anytime
and
any day
and
having virtual friends
and
feeling
"CONNECTED"
...
The power of being
"anonymous"
and
"powerful"
hidden behind a screen
with identities that are just over the top!
...
We are now just hooked to technology
many are addicted
and
it is never more apparent
than at airports
on planes
and
even at restaurants
where you see people unable to set those phones down
to hold conversations the
"old fashion way"
...
When flying home from Central PA
I was amazed at the number of conversations I was privvy to
including how to get into a business computer
*had I had a pencil and paper*
as a gentleman told his colleague by cellphone
how to get into the computer to access a customer account!
I was amazed at the
number of conversations
as we were waiting to
"take off"
wondering how many of those calls
could have waited
how many could have taken the time
to close their eyes
and
just unwind
perhaps even think about their day,
count their blessings
perhaps
even just
RELAX
into the moment
or
people watch even!
After all it is rather amazing
if you just watch the folks boarding
with their many and assorted overstuff bags
as they make their way down the isle in search of their seat
carrying bags that are
stuffed
with all manner of things
and a cup
of
Starbuckes gripped in their teeth!
Hoping beyond hope that they dont lose their grip and spill it as they pass you by!
Why you ask is the coffee in their teeth by the rim of the cup?
Well of course they don't have the extra hand
cos' that is busy holding
the
CELL PHONE
while the other hand
grips the bag holding the kitchen sink and their clothes!
Then they have to get angry that it doesn't fit
in the overhead
where
of course there is  no room
for what appears to be
a
body bag
that they just had to bring on board with them!
BUT
once they are seated
oh my!
The phones are blowing up,
the
Facebook updates are being made
and
here we go...
It takes the flight attendents to hit the isle and tell folks
to
power down,
it takes the overhead reminders
to turn everything
OFF.
And
we are a Nation of those who can hardly stand
it.
We are
handcuffed to the internet
the
phones
and
a beautiful woman has written a piece about it
on her blog
that really nails it all!
I am goin to share it with you here today
by providing the link to her blog
I think you will find it worthy of
sharing with those you know
perhaps you will even print it out
and
sharing it at your workplace
or
suggesting it to a magazine,
or
putting it on the pages of your own
Facebook wall!
It is profound, it is filled with truth
and
it addresses a problem
that truly is
authentic!
Folks are just taking this internet thing to extremes.
I witnessed this myself over the last year on the
Lily The Black Bear page,
and
I must admit,
I too got caught in its web of what I realized after awhile was filled with deceit, manipulation and lack of integrity there.
A page that seemed pure in its intent of
research and care of the
North American Black Bears
and
a den cam that I became rather addicted to watching;
one that took up too much of my time quite frankly!
At times I had friends tell me I was losing my mind
as I watched with complete awe a bear give birth in her den!
A dear friend looked on and then looked at me rather astonished and remarked,
"Well I am now worried about you ... this is about as exciting as watching paint dry... what are YOU DOING?"
...
And then it happened, I watched grown adults on the Lily page turn on each other; I watched them assign human emotions to wild Bears, dress them in costumes and celebrate with virtual parties, as they became addicted to bears in the wild, as they had fundraisers and took food from their own tables donated like crazy to a man who did research on these animals!
I observed people from other states and communites forsake their own neighborhoods to contribute to a little town and its school systems raising monies for their town
on behalf of North American BlacI Bears that live in the woods
and last I checked those bears do not go to school, don't need the very things that folks were raising money for in a little community that was not the one those fans lived in!

Oh my, I heard the stories of folks not cleaning their homes nor fixing dinner for their familes nor wanting to go about their lives because they were "captivated by the internet and the pages of Faecebook and the man who asked for donations on the bear pages"!  Many were caught up in the throes of grief, in the idea of sending "long johns, mittens, food and such things to a reseracher who has chosen to walk with bears in the cold weather of the North cold lands of the forest" I can't help but to believe that this man can well afford to purchase his own mittens and long johns after the many years he has walked in the cold weather there...
Bears will be bears without human interference, and perhaps they will live longer without the scent of man?
I watched with horror as people showed the worst side of humanity and acted with such meaness and actual threats, and even those threats to include wishes that others would die extended to each other while idolizing researchers who began to show less than integrity and honesty in their dealings with bears and humans alike.
We are talking grown, middle aged women and men here!
NOT LITTLE OR SCHOOL AGED HORMONE RAGING TEENS HERE!!!
People who should know better!
What appeared to start out as an effort to educate and bring people from all over the globe together in a caring community
about and for the
North American Black Bears
appeared to have become
a page of people
out to
destroy each other
and
to take
and
to allow others to be bullied, stomped and trampled along the way
while people lost their kindness and compassion
for each other
along with their money and their pride and their honesty
in day to day caring.
I have often stated that page was a marvelous study in
human behavior for anyone doing their dissertation
for a Phd in human behavior.
The schools are adopting a
zero tolerance for bullying,
children are committing suicide as a result of bullying
as parents wonder why, as they lay awake at night and think of ways to stop such irresponsible acts.
And
here in this day and age
we witness bullying by adults on the internet,
we see and witness adults doing these things and claim it is a result of stress over their love of their "cause"
as a result of their "passion"
as a part of their desire
to be involved
and
I watched it from grown women who one day are stating they are "good Christians" and are praying for the North American Black Bears
and in the next tyings they are making death threats to hunters and to the moderators of the Lily Bear Facebook site or to others who post there because they don't like a comment or a thought of another...
Some admit that they hit the enter button too quickly
while others then say
they guess they were a little stressed!
Let's face it...
people just have gone over the edge of responsiblity and accountability of their behaviors in many cases.
Many will pray for bears while threatening their fellow wo/man
and doing harm on their way to church
on those pages
and
that just boggles the mind of the sane.
It seems to me that many are just wired a bit too tightly
while still others are just plain out needing to unplug the connection to the great internet
and
step back and reevaluate
their priorites!
Life is more than that great phone or computer
or the
idea of sitting behind a screen
and pretending to be
OZ
for all the wrong reasons.

With that said today
haha
as I sit at this computer
and
gaze upon the screen here,
I will now share this wonderful blog
and
hope you will subscibe!
"WORK THE DREAM" is a blog worthy of reading daily
as it is just filled with wonderment
by a gifted writer.
Please comment back here after reading and let me know your thoughts,

I think you will join me in applauding the
authenticity of the writer and her words here!
Bravo!!!
It's a beautiful day in Florida today
and
in the morning
I will be in cuddle duds headed west
to the cold lands of Nebraska and Iowa!!!

Blessings to all who gather,
and
to all those who are wrapped in the throes of this internet
and
get "hooked into the ugliness part... STAND UP, shake it off and remember who you are" Kindness is never out of style, it's time to ask for forgiveness to those you have wounded when you were too absorbed to see the error of your ways, and get back to the compassion of your passion.

Morning (still 15 minutes to go)
Today's words made me laugh, think, cry, remember, sigh, and a bunch of other things that dear Dr. SES stirs up when she writes in her way. I do know the doc personally, so I read each word as if I see her saying it. Quite a blessing in my life, that Dr. Sherry is.... I look so forward to her daily blog & advice. I wish all the readers a great Sunday, this day when I immerse myself in screaming for football, distract myself from the Internet, cell phone and all other connections.
GIVE IT A BREAK ! as the doc says. Safe travels to the cold states, return to us with " warm" stories. Love each & every one of you all. I am happy & FIRM

Way to go doc. Tellng it always as it is. As for me, I can only dream of a time when people realize that they are indeed addicted to technology. Not a problem I have trust me. Safe travels, ever glad to visit here and read your blog. Much love to each of you.

Greetings on the wind friends. Hope everyone is ok today. Some powerful words doc and it is important for us to stand up when things are wrong. So glad to see you back posting.
Hugs on the wind

hellooooooooo.
once again, keeping it real, one of the many virtues of our loved DRSES..
I have a cell phone which is totally outdated, sits in my car for emergencies only... computer skills are basic to say the least.. this is my only page I visit frequently..
have no use for IPADS, video games or much of anything technlogic.. truly enjoy real conversation and turning the pages of a good book.. I see young people each day who cannot do basic math without the use of a calculator and also can't tell time on a clock with hands.. progress and technolgy are not always for the best interest of humanity, just saying, my opinion and probably the minority opinion.
I am grateful however for the "virtual" friendships I have aquired here amoung the gentle warriors who have come together to support and care about others...
that being said, prayers to EE, and best to everyone mentioned in your words today. Hope your trip brings the best to you Doc, safe trip and safe return home. I am sure the folks who have the pleasure of meeting you will find guidance and compassion...
" keep on walking "... and thanks for sharing yourself with all of us.
Sweet dreams to all,
hugging my angels ♥♥, sign me,
A.

Good Morning Friends and Happy Tuesday to you. Irene, yes this weather is very strange. Over the weekend we had freezing cold, several inches of snow and in the teens and low 20s. Sunday night is started raining and yesterday morning at 5:30 it was 45 here in SE Michigan and most of the snow was gone except for the hills where the parking lots were plowed. Today it is high 30s but very windy and going to 50s by Thursday. I hope everyone else has nice weather. I wish for you a very happy and Blessed day. Hope Dr. Sherry is staying warm. Fluff/Sandy♥

best to all on such a beautiful Fl.
day... will agree that the weather is out of the norm and I sure am loving it !! Too frugal here to turn on my AC but have all windows and slider doors wide open, welcoming the fresh air and balmy breeze.. gotta love Mother Nature.. as snow falls in the Northern country, I am hoping all of you brave ones are staying snug and warm.. Doc, sure hope your trip is going well and your cuddle duds are working full force.. I am sure the hearts of all you have met have been comforted by the warmth of your wise words and knowledge..
Lots of dancing dolphins at Honeymoon Island, seems as if the are playing in the sunbeams,up and out of the waters in perfect rythm, quite an awesome sight to behold.
Today I am planting tomatoes, a gift of love from my cherished friends, in tribute of my Dad.. the aroma is strong and powerful, much like the memories of him which fill my heart.. can hardly wait to see if I will have success, my first attempt, and not too sure if I have the green thumb.
I will be using his "secret recipe" and lots of TLC..
Thinking of how grateful and blessed I am.
Have a super great day everyone, it was a nice surprise to see you here today.. and Doc, we are looking forward to hearing from you when you arrive safely home..

Good Morning friends and Happy Wednesday. It was so refreshing to read your message today "A". Doors and windows open, breaze blowing in, planting tomoatos for your Dad's memory. Wow - Florida sounds like a nice place to be. My nephew lives in St. Petersburg and been there 3 years and I have not visited yet. I must get to Florida soon. The dancing dolphins sound so wonderfully, awesomely, beautiful. Would love to be able to see them. I never saw a dolphin close up in the wild. What a Blessing that would be. I look forward to hearing from Dr. Sherry and I hope she is staying warm. It is 35 degrees this morning and a little windy but not bad. Going to the 40s today and no snow-Yeah! I am looking for Spring in SE Michigan. Well, got to get busy here at work. Wanted to wish all those who stop by here a Blessed and Joyous Wednesday and hope the weather is good where you are.

GOOD morning to everyone, Thursday in January. Hope my friends are doing well. A funny story, we are breaking weather records this week in Florida. I passed a church sign yesterday. It read: ( are you ready for this one? )
PRAYER CONDITIONING inside.
Have a good one, till we write again I am staying happy & FIRM

Happy Thursday Friends. I hope all is well and your day is good so far. Irene, now that was cute ans made me chuckle this morning. Thanks for you great words. It has surely been some strange weather and I am sure not complaining. By know here in SE Michigan we would have had snow piled up for a long time and freezing out every day. It is 35 this morning and going to the 40s and no site of snow Yeah!!! I can keep this weather till Spring. Well, wishing each of you a terrific day filled with lots of joyous smiles and peace. Holding those in prayers as mentioned and hope Dr. Sherry is ok and on her way home. Take care friends - Fluff/Sandy♥

Here we are on the last Friday in January, the gentle rains are allowing our grass & flowers to drink up, green up & blossom.
I, personally, am "saturated" with the political chatter all over the media. Enough already !
The return of Dr. Sherry's Show-
(walter) is anticipated by me & many, I am sure. Enjoy everything.

Ahhhh, Friday - took off work today and was able to sleep in. So very much needed. Taking it easy this morning and enjoyed a comfort breakfast of oatmeal, grapefruit, hot tea and very satisfied. The weather is treating us sooo good. It snowed with sleety rain overnight. At 2:00 pm the snow is gone and the sun is shining beautiful through my window. Would love to sit outside but it is only 37 so cold but sunny. Good for a SE Michigan January day. I know some places are having rough weather so my prayers go out to them for safety.

Wishing everyone here a very happy and restful Friday. Holding those in prayer who are mentioned often.

I am off to the shelter in a few and will be very busy. Quite a few new cats and dogs the past few days so lots of work getting to know them and welcoming prospective adopters to the shelter.
Take care friends and enjoy the Blessings we are given for the day

TGIF for sure ! !
wicked long week at work, finally crashing form all the events in my life this month. Tomorrow brings a much needed day of, and rain or shine, no matteer to me, I will be sleeping in.. resting and regrouping all the emotions and thoughts that are scattered in my spirit. This month has been a rollercoaster ride for me, and since I am not a big fan of coasters... I will spend time with my feet on the ground as I finally unpack my bag and boxes of treasured memories. Let the tears fall as they may, I have been trying so hard to stay strong... time to let it loose, cry like a wolf and move on to ... Wishing all a wonderful weekend, may your days be filled with whatever it takes to bring happiness to your heart. Thank you all for being here... you are fantastic friends...
Doc, sue hope you arrive home safely and know that you have been missed !!
Lots of stars out tonight, lots of angels looking down at us and keeping us close and safe...

I just read your words "A" and you touched my heart. I understand and feel what you are going through as I have also been down that same road. My prayers are with you as they have been the past few weeks and will continue. Yes, take time to unpack the memories and reminisce of the times shared in the past. Also, let those tears flow and clean up all those tough days and rest your body and soul a bit and then you are able to get going again. Take care friend and know how very special you are to so many. Wishing you many Blessings to come. Sending hugs your way. Fluff/Sandy♥
