TURKEY TROT?

GOOD TIME TO BE A PIG!

BAD DAY TO BE
GROCERY SHOPPER

Yep that's my take on things!

And
it's a great time
to
get your
"grateful on"
oh so much to give
THANKS for
today
on the
"eve"
of
Thanks(in)Giving
as
the roads and skies
are the busiest day of the year
and
oh those poor folks who are hitting the grocery stores today
I do not envy not one bit,
and
I am oh so thankful to be sitting here
in my home
with coffee in hand
and little 4-leggeds in lap
knowing
that today
I do not have to go
OUT!
Today
I give thanks for
the
Ancestors, my family, my beloved friends
and
family of choice
and
all that has been
to be where it is
and
all
that is yet to be.
I am grateful
I am  blessed.

I am happy to
NOT be a turkey
also.
AND
did I mention... I am so delighted to not be
fighting over a bird in the cold section of the food stores today
and
the green beans and the stuffing and the yams and the
seasons greetings
and
the
"let's see" whatever else folks will be fighting over
perhaps it will be
the buggy
or
the next available cashier?
Folks will gather all over the place; Disney will be croweded; dinners will be held, and quiet moments will be spent in reflection as well!
Today
I know that
Godson
D'Vante is being taken by ole' COB
to have his
"wisdom?" teeth extracted
and
then she will settle in as his "nurse"
OHHH my
I wonder if that indicates that he will then
develop "wisdom" as a senior of high school?
heehe
Or
if he will just lay back for Thanksgiving and
"gobble/slurp"
more mashed potatoes than usual
now that he is being nursed
by
COB
and coddled and loved so tenderly
without
"wisdom" teeth?
><
I have heard that
folks are taking their
best big ole platters out of the cabinets
and
getting ready to get their
annual "feed on"
tomorrow
the
TV is being set to
"all day football heaven"
and
the kitchens are being set up for all the
sensory overloads of smells de jour
to delight the senses
across our lands!
Little and big 4 leggeds are taking up residence in the kitchen
hoping and many are probably offering up
prayers that wonderful things drop to the floor
just for them
to have a "THANKS-falling treat"
along the way!
SOME... will get caught in that "Hallmark picture" with the goods... a big ole Turkey leg and a mouthful!

While many will sit and watch it all from a restaurant
and
wonder about those they are seeing from a distance
still others
will settle in alone in their home
and
remember
or
eat
STEAK!

The holiday season
is now officially upon us
with
the eve of Thanksgiving.
We see it in the ads on TV
but
mostly we
"feel it in our hearts"
as
we embrace the heart space of
"thank full ness"
and
it is in remembering those we have and do love
that
we are most thankful and blessed
in our lives.

So many will enter this Thanksgiving
"missing" those who are no longer here
and
looking for memories to sustain
and
to provide
HOPE in Healing Ways
and
I hope that you will find ways to bring those memories into the now
and allow them to be a part of your
Thanksgiving.
><
Being gentle with you, with those that love you and that you love, while embracing all that is right here and right now.
...

Others will have a blast tomorrow,
will be sure and know where the
BLACK FRIDAY SALES ARE
and retire to bed early
just so
THEY CAN GET UP AND HIT THOSE STORES
and
SHOP TIL THEY DROP!
I can remember doing that
and
just being absolutely amazed by it all!
I still get a kick out of the thought
but
cannot get past the idea of leaving my bed
to go out to a place and watch or i just don't know enough of how or what to save on!

ONe thing is certain,
this is the eve
of
Thanksgiving!
It's time to fire up the ovens
to get ready to get your
"gratitude on"
and
to make those phone calls of long distance, short distance
and
to jump online and send those emails of
"thanks"

SPEAKING OF THANK YOU'S

Thank you
to the men, women, service animals
serving our Nation
and
keeping our lands safe.
thank THANK YOU
for your service
to those who have served
those who are serving
and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
We honor you, we respect you,
we
ARE THANKFUL FOR YOU.
We are free because of YOU.
Thank you Mr President for leading our Nation in these difficult and challenging times in a thankless job
where ugliness and judgment are witnessed in every moment.
Thank YOU.
><
OK
ready?
STRETCH ONE TWO THREE
lift your arm, bend elbow to mouth comes hand
repeat...
Practice time for tomorrow
...
NOW
stand and bend at waist
remember waist?
It could all be gone with three helpings of mashed potATOES
two slices of pecan pie
one slice punkin pie
and
repeat of meal in 2 hours!

NOW then
we have that done!
Get your self with gun ready to shoot the bird in the fridg
so you too can say you've done it the old fashioned way!

I'm off to shoot the turkey,
but
it may make an awful noise in the "hood"
but
at least it may get Sandy's attention and she can come over and help me get things done here!

What a plan!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DEAR ONES EVERYWHERE.

Of course
I will probably know that
COB/Mom and Angie/cuzzie
will send me pictures of the
green jello stuff with taunting
"wish you were here" messages
and
will probably go so far as to make a great big ole' spirit plate filled with all my favorites to sit on the table for me and then take a picture as well!
BUT
when I do not eat it,
and
they are ready for seconds there in
Southwest VA
you can believe
THEY WILL EAT OFF MY PLATE
rather than get up from the table to get their own!!!

haha

gotta love it!

Enjoy all
and hope you are feeling wiser D'Vante now that you had those teeth taken out!

I am thankful
Let's get this day goin here friends...

helloooooooo.
love the words of wisdom today. Yep, I as well, am so very thankful to have the day off, no need to fight the crowds at the grocery stores and am enjoying the company of my cats as I relax and ponder the wonderment of my world.
I will be having my feast on Friday, have to work at the burger joint on Thanksgiving ( really, not too thrilled about this)...
Thanksgiving.. hmmm.. so much more than mounds of food and football.. for this I am thankful. I have never " bought in " to the black friday madness, as the commercialism of the holiday season irks me.. BAHHUMBUG ?? not quite, I hold the holidays sacred in my heart, traditions and reflections and full of the joy and love of my family and friends.. happy thoughts and memories will fill my day.. sure hope D'Vante doesn't suffer too much from the dental work, being the trooper he is, he will come thru with flying color.. postcards are in the mail, I love the idea and hope Angie just gets bags and bags of mail..Blessings being sent to all, and hope for happy hearts and lots of love to all..
hugging my angels, loving my family and friends,
being thankful for being here..

Greetings on the wind friend. We are getting ready for our first Thanksgiving in our new home here. We plan on lots of sensory smells and beautiful lights and maybe even the parade. We were blessed by friends who made our Thanksgiving about to be the best ever. :) And for that we give GREAT thanks.
Hoping Dvante is doing well and not getting too spoiled by COB and that you and buns are having a great holiday. Put on those slippers and sit back and enjoy the day...you deserve it.
hugs and love n the wind friend and hi to all here.

and I hit enter too soon. For those who are missing a loved one today, I read this quote and it made me realize that thought our loved one may not be here in person...they are still here..in our hearts and in the next world. My prayers are out for you all today that you feel their presence strongly today. love EE

"When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for what has been your delight." Kahill Gibran.

Thanks to EE for the beautiful words,
there truly is no distance, a heartbeat
away , love never fades and perhaps, I believe,
is much stronger with the physical absence...
just saying, as I know this belief helps
me to keep going...
