Sunday Thoughts

Thoughts to ponder for the New Year!

Hearts that are connected in life cannot be separated by death
Death is just not that strong!

Well the New Year is off to a cold start from South to North, from the East to the west! Brrr, there is a definite chill to the air, as old man winter brings in the New Year! How are you bringing in your New Year?

I recently read a wonderful email about a mayonnaise jar and a professor who was demonstrating to his students about filling it... He would fill it first with golf balls and then ask the students if they thought the jar full... and the students would reply "yes, it is full." He then would add pebbles that would add to the jar, going in between the spaces left by the golf balls to the shock of the students!  The students would then tell him the jar was now full... and then the knowing professor would add sand; and it would add to the jar; going between nooks and golf balls and pebbles and adding to the jar! The students would be amazed once again and at some point insist the jar was full and could hold no more. The professor then produced 2 cups of coffee, and poured them in the mayonnaise jar! The students were laughing hysterically. And then the professor spoke, "'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,  'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - family, children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions – Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.  The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.  The sand is everything else --The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued, there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.  The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
you will never have room for the things that are important to you. So... Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Learn to Play.  Play with your children if you have children.

Laugh; even it is at yourself.

Take time to get medical checkups.

Take your partner out to dinner, if you don't have a partner, take yourself out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first -- The things that really matter.

Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend".

There is always room for a couple of cups of coffee or tea with a friend, whether they are nearby or via phone... there is always time!

Cherish You; cherish your day, your memories.

Let go of the past hurts, regrets and those things that do not serve you well as you go into this New Year.

Take best care of you.

Honor the warrior within!

I wish you enough

It's all good when put into perspective.

Never really thought of it in this way. You are right, keep your eye "on the ball" first, important pebbles, sand and ah yes, coffee with a friend... You always amaze with your insights. Food for thought, food for the soul and coffee too. How can we thank you for the time you take to share all this with us, your loyal readers?
Sending you love on the wind, warmth in the sunshine and well wishes.
