Are YOU Working the Dream?

A day to work the dream if ever there was. It's the middle of the week,
warpaint on
and time to shake rattle and roll.
...
A time to take a stand for those who cannot stand for themselves
when they stand in the right but somehow get lost in systems, in rules, in things that are just enough to make you want to chew on nails.
There is a time when the rubber meets the road, and one learns painful lessons
through experience that overwheming to the system, and sometimes is heard about or is watched from afar;
when experience can be a hard teacher;
and when good judgment is made at the time, but later punished in ways that boggle the mind
while the gifts are hard to reach, and dreams get deferred.
It is in those times
that it is helpful to remember who you are;
the pain as intense as gasoline ignited on a body but burns within to the outside;
sometimes requiring interventions made quickly
often arms of others and
the outcry for justice well thought through allows one strength to find the words, the ways, and often legal interventions, news media to stand in front and on the side of right.
Time to stand for what is right, what is humane, what is fundamental and even...
remembering that we are innocent until proven guilty by the courts of the land.

Time to remind others that even
a man like George Zimmerman walked free after admitting to shooting an unarmed kid;
until evidence was gathered, until a case was built even though the Nation had to cry for justice and be heard to hasten that along...
and probably would still be free had it not been for outraged citizens demanding an arrest. But that involved a shooting;
and was only a case in point of the idea of one is innocent and able to go about their lives until evidence and information is gathered;
rather than assuming the worse in individuals and causes yet altering the course of the moment, the individuals
and devastating people in the process.
In times of such shock and moment decisions that could rapidly put people into crisis/pain/depression
it is important for imput from those who know people; it is critical for people to
STAND UP
and not let themselves be run over or intimitdated.

A time when decisions are often made and dictated, without taking the time to ask specific questions, nor look beyond the moment when peoples very futures and dreams lie in the balance and emotional/spiritual well being become more important than hasty decisions and policies that are not being well thought out.
Professionalism goes by the wayside;
when people do not return phone calls, when folks are too busy attending to pre-set agendas rather than address emergent issues that involve someone in crisis that now sit in shock/trauma feelings secondary to being wrongly accused and punished prior to full knowledge.
Another system
Another potential failure
and
people devasted
Dreams deferred
nightmares that don't end.
Langston Hughes comes to my mind
"`"

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
...
Right way relations, kids, adults, lessons along the paths;
Professional ethics/visions/missions
and individuals/families
blindsided, affect dreams, abilities to function with executive brain messages, with rational thought.
Systems that are shocked; have difficulty in breathing, in moving, in finding the words, the ability to STAND
when traumatized or feeling that they have no control.
When phone calls, emails, attempts for action, for understanding go unaswered.
It is in this time
that stress is at its highest,
when shock settles in; when one wants, others find reasons things won't work,
when feelings are trampled
and
success and dreams are deferred.
When caution lights and red lights
are ignored
and the moments are missed.
And waiting feels like an eternity,
while powerlessness fills the mind, the body, the spirit.
It is in these times
that being pro-active is the way back to the center of the court;
where one finds the power of their SELF,
the HOPE to their inner God power
and
dreams are the impetus for change
and
creative thinking becomes the catalyst
for empowerment.

May your day be filled with the power to STAND UP
and advocate for what, who,
matters the most.
STOMP
The local news loves a human interest story,
emails are a great connection,
SHOW UP
Work the PLAN.
EAch moment of sitting
is a moment you will never see again,
and
a Dream Deferred.
If you believe in something, believe in someone,
STAND
do what it takes, be what you are, advocate with all you have til' it's right.
YOu have dreams?
Work the dream.
"Without dreams, there can be no courage. And without courage, there can be no action." ~Wim Wenders ~

Ok, now, where is everybody?? Good words to remember today, Dr. Sherry. My brain is starting to settle back to normalacy (I think) after “the super moon!! LOL. Really, though, I hope all are doing ok, and was concerned about no posts on here, and usually there are by this time of day. I had the thought go through my mind if we don’t know where we are going, then we won’t know when we get there, as I was listening to you talk about having goals. Thanks for everything you remind us of.

Hello Dr. Sherry and friends. Sure been a busy day for me, had to make two stops on the way and just got home and able to get on the computer. Couldn't even read the great words today until now. I wondered where everyone was also. Thank you Dr. Sherry, for the great message and loved the video. I am bad about working on getting my dreams to come to fruition. I am trying though. Just seems like the days pass by so quickly and time goes by. Thank you Dr. Sherry to challenge me to work on it. Take care friends, hope your day was a great one and your night will be peaceful. /Sandy♥
