Here comes the Long Weekend

People are already hitting the roads
it's almost time
for folks to take to the highways, to hit the streets for times away from the routines, the stress the work.
Some are already gone from sight, as we can tell from readership as well here,
wonder where they are headed, and sure hope they have buckled up with a plan to have the best time while remembering those who have fought for our very freedoms and abilities to live and love our lives and country.
Some will take to the air and have so many airlines to choose from these days,
the airports will be busy, the service will either be great or not,
yet those airports will probably be filled with men and women in uniform.
I hope folks are going out of their way to find time/make time to extend their hand and say
"thank you for your service".
It is a busy time and yet a time to remember,
it is a time to
STOP
and take the time.
LET ME BEGIN BY SAYING THIS:
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY
68 YEARS YOUNG
AND ON TOUR
AS SHE SINGS
AS ONLY SHE CAN!
SING YOUR SONGS PATTI
AND LET THEM HEAR ALL OF YOU!
OHHH WHEN SHE HAS BLESSED US WITH MUSIC YOU WILL BE TAKEN OUT OF YOUR SEATS!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A LEGEND!

During the long week-end of joyous noise that millions will be making; from the mountains to the oceans, with grills fired up and laughter across the lands of times spent together, of graduations and families and friends.
It is Memorial Week-End
and
we all need to TAKE THE TIME
to remember during our celebrations and great times of togetherness.
All gave some
and
some gave all.
I thank
YOU ALL FOR YOUR SERVICE
as we begin and enter into this
Memorial Day weekend,
I hope you will join me
in taking the time to remember
and to give great gratitude to those who have served, those serving and their families.
...
ARE you packed? On the roads? On the rails? In The Air? Arrived at your destination? Staying at home?
Firing up or going to the stores to get the goods for the weekend?
Well hell do you even know that it is Memorial Day weekend?
...
Get those flags flying!
And please be safe,
I think that solar eclipse has had the same effects as the super moon on folks
and let me just tell ya;
people are acting 7 sorts of crazed these days. Yep they sure are!!!
So then,
as Dr. Seuss would say, "say what you mean and mean what you say".
And I would add, "and know when to call it a day"!
BE a star in your own life
and
shine brightly always,
even in the storm friends.
...
How bout that now?

Here we come into a time of remembrances; a time that is dedicated to our Veterans; yet now a time that many will also spend honoring their loved ones.
A time to remember, to "say their names",
a time to "take the time"
during what is this long week-end
and time of those who are vacationing
and stay=cationing.
A time of saying thank you to those who have given all in the service of others.
Thank YOU.
"A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself." Joseph Campbell

Blessings to all
and prayers continue for
Thomas O'Brien, Ali and her beloved Dad, EE in Colorado, and all who have asked..
We are standing with you.
BE safe dear ones as you travel and gather toward the week-end.

Thank you Dr. Sherry for your words and pictures. God Bless our military men and women, past and present who stand strong to protect our great country. God Bless those families who have lost a military loved one. Prayers continue for Ali and her father, thank you Ali's Father for your service. Prayers continue for Thomas there in Texas and his Mom. Thank you Thomas for your dedications and service. Prayers for EE and for Dr. Sherry and her family.
I am asking those who may read this to keep my sister's cat Gitche in your prayers over the next days. Plans are to do surgery on him tomorrow for bladder stones and partial obstruction. He has been sick with other issues the past months unrelated and he is not well and my Sis is heartbroken. So, we are requesting all we know to hold Gitche and my Sis Carol in your prayers. Thank you for this.
Take care my friends over this weekend and be safe. Hope your night is peaceful. /Sandy♥

Thanks doc. Glad to be home and have the time it takes to read and reflect on the blog tonight. Special thanks to all the men and women in uniform for their multiple deployments. The time away from their families, their homes, their lives, so that our daily lives remain constant. Many many thanks to each and everyone who serves, and to those who have served in the past.
