HAPPY BIRTHDAY
D'VANTE TODD EDWARDS
#1 Godson
turns 18 today.
It is astounding to me as I reflect and I sit in the here and now and realize that my heart has now reached the age where he can legally vote, can drink, drive, and is responsible for each choice he makes in the world of grown-ups and the steps he makes.
He now will begin the journey of college; of the need to step up and step out
and I pray that the guidance he has received, the foundation that has been laid will continue to help him in all the decisions that are his.
Happy Birthday Baby,
I wish for you all that you dare to work for to see come to fruition.
My heart is wrapped around this young man as he walks with his head high and I pray he makes choices he will be proud of!
...
It was beautiful
It was stunning
It was more than words can describe
It was electric
It was magical
It was living the dream for Kamryn Elijah
and
the trip home was exhausting and not without hitches thanks to United and fog on those mountains!
The flights were delayed in Santa Barbara
first thing out.
I can't remember spending so many hours at an airport since 8am when my flight didn't not leave until 1:15, but Angie and Kamryn were due to fly to San Francisco at 9:40.
But
they were delayed and that is were it all began;
an ending to a week of Michael Jordan Flight School that was for the toughest of the tough.
As we parted, Kamryn let me know not to worry he was guarding that signed ball with his life, and he would see me today in Florida!
...
They were worried if they would make the connection secondary to the delay on the front end of the plane.
Let's be hopeful here
after all, it's been a week and all are exhausted now, all that is left to do is sit for hours on the plane right?
ME?
To Denver, then Tampa. CHECK
Memories and smiles as I think of all that has happened.
Kamryn and Angie who I now call "Zolo" after her horse; San Fran and then to Charlotte NC
only to drive 2 hours to their home; sleep and then Kamryn and Mom/Dot/COB
will board a plane to come here this afternoon.
...
AH
memories, all great; plans in the making for next year underway, thoughts of upcoming sleep on the immediate radar, and next week joys of shooting hoops from the pool with jumpman Kamryn.
STOP THE THOUGHTS
as I received the text:
"we've missed our connection"
ohhh noooo
Kamryn and Angie were misdirected by United to the wrong gate, then sprinting to the right gate as the door closed.
Now they are in SF, only to be told they have one flight at 10:20 pm
and will arrive in Charlotte at 6:28AM
...
More than 9 hours they will WAIT;
then fly all night.
Getting home at 8 or 9 this morning
only then for Kamryn to have to get on a plane at 1pm for Florida.
BOTH ARE EXHAUSTED.
and
I am up temporarily and hear my bed calling me back!
The thunder beings are rolling here,
I can honestly say that United Airlines was a huge disappointment on both ends of the trip;
for Angie and Kamryn;
bags missing on the CA end,
sending them to the wrong gate on the return and missed flight as a result.
BUT
when I look at that, based on a trip of dreams
it was like a gnat,
we brush it away and think of all the magic
and all the greatness.
Oh my it's good to be home.
The rains are falling, the thunder is booming
and
soon the house will be alive with the energy of
Dot/Mom/Cob
and one tired little fella who now is not liking planes to much
but ready to relax as he relives the stories
of
"the best time of his life"
...
May the Creator bless you and yours,
may the day be filled with dreams realized
and
HOPE that fills your heart and your senses.
The fire is burning brightly here
and the sage is lit.
Prayers going up
for all.

Dr. Sherry - Good to read your words today. Wow, What a time you all have had with cross country travel. You all need a few days of solid sleep and relaxation. I am sure Kamryn will be bubbling again once he arrives there in Florida after some down time. Wishing them safe travels.
Wishing a great big Happy Birthday to D'Vante. Have a grand time celebrating your own special day.
Lots of people on the prayer list and wishing for answered prayers for each one listed. It has been stormy, cloudy and HUMID here in SE Michigan and very hot the last few days!
Take care friends and have a Blessed and Happy Sunday. /Sandy♥
