BP Are YOU Kidding US

Beautiful Waters for our Children
Beautiful Waters for USAll

YEP, I'm thinking we need a few great women...
How bout' it ...
Oprah, Michelle Obama maybe, Sylvia Alice Earle, Jane Goodall (Jane knows creativity I'm thinkin), and of course... can't leave out Martha Stewart... after all Martha can make dirt with her very own hands right? And if you add water to dirt you got mud, with mud you can throw in hole and pack it, right? good idea!!! Let's call in the women...

OK, just got my coffee... smells good, looks right.... ummm... yep, tastes great..
S T O M P
What is it ... 60 days now? Good morning my beautiful world... good morning beautiful people, wishing you love, light, harmony... in your life...
It's almost the week-end!

Can you believe BP?

BP said it will suspend its dividend for the rest of this year {THIS YEAR, DIVIDENDS THIS YEAR, ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME????}and set up the $20 billion fund to assure victims of the Gulf oil spill that they will be compensated for their losses. The British oil giant also will cut spending {They are going to cut spending!}and sell some assets {sell some assets???}
to deal with the cleanup and compensation costs, which have already hit $1.75 billion.
BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg announced the moves Wednesday after emerging from the White House, where he and other BP executives met for four hours with Obama.

OK, now get this:

BP-SMALL PEOPLE (from the associated press)

The "small people" of the Gulf Coast have a humongous message for oil giant BP:
They're tired of the company's big-time executives making insensitive comments.
Svanberg told reporters in Washington: "I hear comments sometimes that large oil companies are greedy companies or don't care, but that is not the case with BP.
We care about the small people."
Justin Taffinder of New Orleans was not amused.
"We're not small people. We're human beings. They're no greater than us. We don't bow down to them. We don't pray to them," Taffinder said. And I say to Justin, "you STOMP Justin my friend, you are NOT small... you are a human, with a heart, tell em like it is my friend, many blessings to you and yours."

HAYWARD ON THE HILL

BP CEO Tony Hayward expects to tell Congress he is "personally devastated" by the Gulf drilling rig explosion and oil spill and understands the anger Americans feel toward him and his company. The explosion and sinking of the rig "never should have happened — and I am deeply sorry that they did," he said in testimony to be delivered to a House panel Thursday. "My sadness has only grown as the disaster continues." A copy of Hayward's testimony was obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press.

Don't we feel better now that we know BP is not one of those greedy companies... don't we feel just peachy knowing that they care deeply about us "small people" and that they are going to "cut spending", "suspend their dividends", and that they are "sorry this happened"?

AND, are we not just filled with happy feelings that they care about us "small people"?

Aren't we just saying "yippee skippee" knowing that one of their reps pointed out that we can buy shrimp in places other than Louisiana???

Aren't we happy that they are sleeping well at night in their well appointed homes paid for by those dividends and bonus' monies paid handsomely by BP? I know I am NOT.

Mother Earth, I cry for you...

Yep, I'm thinking it's past time for a woman at the helm, an angry woman maybe... women who are ready to protect our shores, our waters, our sea life... A woman who inherently knows knows how to STOMP, and take a stand for all... to kick ass and take names for the greater good. Women who are ready to jump in and find a way; a creative and unique way born of necessity not talk; a solution to a devastating problem. A woman driven answer not a money driven or political condemning excuse to bash our President moment... a time of saving a Mother who happens to be our Earth Mother and the time being almost 3 months... 2 months 29 days past due of stopping this problem.
No time for tongue wagging, no time for "I am devastated", no time... ACTION... let's go...

S T O M P

OK, now where do we find her, and how do we get BP to take her seriously ...

Let's see... It's no news that women were historically excluded from the "boys club" of science but women scientists date as far back as Ancient Greece, and perhaps further. In more recent years, they have become essential to the scientific community, research, practice, and heaven knows we may just need one or twenty one now.  Don't misunderstand ... we need our men too! Our National Guard, our military, our men are important... just sayin, maybe it's time for a woman to step in to BP land... and that "strainer idea" may be an idea worth checkin into...

How about BP and POTUS hiring all those folks who are out of a job right now... maybe BP would take on the mortgages of those whose livelihoods are affected on the fishing boats; my friends down here in FL who can't find a job... how bout it BP... Stand UP to that while you are standing?

C'mon .... Let's roll... STOMP

The fire is burning brightly, its embers are hot... Thoughts on gentle breezes this morning to all who enter here,

FOR: Our beautiful Gulf of Mexico and all those affected/infected by this horrific accident; our sea-life creatures, those living in and on the gulf waters and trying to make their livelihoods and provide for their families our prayers are with you and yours... Please help our Gulf...

Come to FL, visit ... spend those vacation dollars... play in the Gulf... It's beautiful here...

Send a thought to my Great Aunt Effie 101 years old! The family is in NC visiting her this weekend, she has recently been admitted from her home to a Nursing Home... so sad after all these years of living alone! She taught us all ... from my Mom, to the Godsons how to milk a cow... stories that entertained, heartaches that made the pain palpable; laughter that made even Bessie blush... and milk from the cow that was ummm good.  A life lived to the fullest, now in a Nursing Home... 101 years old... amazing grace is all I can think of to say as I crawl under one of those old quilts that she made oh so long ago ~

Keepin us all thinking here. 101 years old, geeze, must have been livin right! The sun came up in a funny position this AM. More South, a big peach ball, and faded bya haze. Now I know why.... it's raining. Gentle, like a spring shower. No thunder, no lightening, just a light steady rain. Mother Earth crying for the waters of the Gulf. Still praying for a solution here. Godd day to all. Make THIS day count it is all we have for now.

Beautiful pic of the beach doc. Hoping to see the gulf beaches stay as pristine as they are today. Some friends of mine are in Florida now with their kids on vacation and said they have not seen any oil on the coastal beaches or waters where they are. I hear the news but don't know the areas they are talking about so it's hard to tell where the oil has spread except for Louisiania and Alabama. I enjoy the blog everyday. I love the mix of topics, current happenings and guidance, empowerment and creative views. Thank You Dr. Showalter.
PS I loved your book.

Happy Birthday to your Auntie--as for your idea of putting a woman in charge--I have been saying that for years!! But it has to be a woman who will say--"I don't want to hear your S__T--just do it- also she would say " get up off your butt and clean up and stop fighting" sounds like a mother right? Just what the world needs. Of course this will never happen, because men think with their D__K and not their brains! Have a great weekend to all. May mother earth help those idiots find a way.
