My coffee is wonderful this morning, planning for a day on my Gulf this weekend... and my head and heart are filled with memories of so many times on the beautiful waters; the dolphins playing with wild abandon; the pelicans doing what they do... and all the other sea life out there abundant in beauty, unscathed by the human hands or ugliness of the world.

My best friend in the world... Her Dad, known to all as "Brownie" used to call me "Kid"... all the time, in public, with and among professionals... just all the time, I was "Kid", his adopted "Kid"! He was a rough around the edges kinda man, full of that Marine Vet talk... Proud to be a WWII vet, proud to be Marine 100% Marine... right up til' the day he died.
Well Brownie had an expression that he used over and over... I was reminded of it once again, when for no particular reason I re-read, "Tea With Elisabeth". All who know me, know that Elisabeth Kubler-Ross is one of my hero's... I just picked the book up, although I had already read it... and for some reason, just needed to read the words of others again... from beginning to end without stopping!
And funny thing is... She too had and often used Brownie's favorite expression ~
Perhaps spirit was trying to get it in my head for todays' thoughts! Perhaps they are having one great time on the other side using that expression together!

BP Oil Spill In Gulf Of Mexico 2010 Update – BP CEO Not in Charge? After Tony Hayward’s congressional hearing yesterday, the Chairman of BP who was recently criticized for calling Americans “small people” noted that Hayward would step aside from daily involvement with the oil spill. "Small people" who in the world would criticize someone who is filthy rich and insensitive for calling American folk "small people"? Imagine that will ya?

There have been several instances where the American public have been offended by the response from executives at the oil spill company. {Offended?}Some would venture to say that Tony Haywood appeared smug yesterday during the hearing. Did you think ole' Tony appeared smug?
The oil spill response day to day operations now lie with Bob Dudley, an American. He’s been the managing director of BP since last year. Having an American on the day to day forefront could ease the minds of some who think that BP just doesn’t care because the Gulf isn’t theirs.
The company has agreed to curb their dividend payments and also set up a $20 billion escrow fund to pay oil spill claims. The company is also drilling two relief wells that will essentially “kill” the well that is spewing out oil. There they go with that "agreed to curb their dividend payments again...

At least 22 nations — including Britain, where BP is based — have offered oil-collecting skimmers, boom, technical experts and more to help the U.S. cope with its worst-ever environmental disaster. But their generosity comes with a price tag. The State Department confirmed that nearly every offer of equipment or expertise from a foreign government since the rig explosion would require the U.S. to reimburse that country. I wonder... if the tables were reversed would we be giving other countries a bill when we offer and send help?
Just asking... just wondering... Nearly every offer to help the RED WHITE AND BLUE... comes with a price tag? hmmmm
I also read with interest where someone suggested a granite cone be inserted in the hole... wide in the top and fitted down down down to the bottom... its weight and size in dimension to the hole to "CAP IT" tightly... Granite tight. Sounds like a plan whose time has come to me...

WOW. What can I say? This Blog says it all. Thanks for the update, I don't read the paper, and only hear news on radio NPR so I miss lotsd of deta;es. Glad some new ideas are in the offing. Have been holding my breath hoping the well is capped soon. Turning BLUE. I know you always say to take a breath. Just breathe. Concrete suggestions ease the angst of helplessness. Always up for pitching in to help. Glad to be a part of this wonderful group of readers who KNOW how to make change.
