Got that Turkey Thawed yet?

Wow
I sure would love a
good ole
STEAK N CHEESE
from the
Broiler
up in
Arlington, Virginia
<>

Here we are,
one day til
THANKSGIVING

And here I am,
craving
a Steak N Cheese from
my
old stomping grounds in
Arlington VA
the day before
Thanksgiving!

OK, ok, I know, I should be salivating over the thoughts
of
Turkey, dressings, cranberries, mashed taters, baked sweet tator casserole with marshmallows on top,
and all those goodies,
but ohhh no,
I'm sittin here with my coffee
thinking about last time I was in
Arlington with Joan and Olivia
and
we were sitting at
The Broiler
and I was taking this picture
right before
singing my happy song
and
digging into my
Steak n Cheese!

So, did you know that on Thanksgiving
40 million Green Bean Casseroles are prepared and served on tables?
I find that to be an amazing fact!
Somehow, when I think of
green bean casseroles,
I always think of funerals!

On this eve of Thanksgiving,
I wish for safe journeys to all that are traveling to families and friends.
Blessings to all those who will gather round the kitchen, those who will sit together
and laugh, cry, and remember through stories
memories that are treasured.
May your "Hallmark" moments be more than you could hope for, your health be wonderful, your blessings be bountiful.
May your bellies be full as you find your way to the Day of Thanks and giving so much to another.

So for today...
I wish you all that the day will bring you
as you prepare for your day
of
Thanks
n
giving all.

Did you know?
"Turkeys have heart attacks. When the Air Force was conducting test runs and breaking the sound barrier, fields of turkeys would drop dead."

I guess you folks who watched "DWTS" are relieved...
as am I to be certain...
Thankfully America at least got the winner right!
Congratulations Jennifer, you were magnificent
you were beautiful with style, grace
and
you have sure got the moves on the floor
Patrick would be ever so proud.
As for the third place runner up?
What a joke that whole thing was... just as is the
New Bestseller that folks are standing in line for
ARE YOU KIDDING ME>
Just keepin it real folks

My hero this week goes to
BARBARA BUSH
as quoted in the news
on Sara Palin,
"She seems to like and do well in Alaska,
I HOPE she stays in Alaska"
God Bless Former First Lady Barbara Bush!
My hero of the week!

haha
ONe more for you on the eve of
Thanks-giving

The first Thanksgiving was not a feast, but rather a time when Native Americans helped Pilgrims by bringing them food and helping them build off the land and all living things that were eaten!
[tell me you knew that] while giving thanks to all that was used from the Creator....

The Fire is burning brightly, with hope for your Thanksgiving to be all that will sustain you as the holidays fill your senses, your heart and your bellies.

Walk IN Beauty,
DRSES

Happy Thanksgiving to you , Dr S. Im with Irene, you can have my share of green bean casserole. And Im tickled with the DWTS results.
I remember one year I called my dear friend in Scotland to wish her a Happy Thanksgiving and she replied"Uh dear one, we dont celebrate that here, that is when you damn yanks left this side of the pond" Haha I certainly was red faced on my end of the phone. Safe journeys to all!

Good Morning Dr. SES, green bean casserole, ugh, yes they are definitely for funerals. I took a bite of one the other day and I thought for sure it would ruin my love of real green beans. Making green beans is a art and I am the only one in my family who know how to fix them. I have tasted some awful ones in my life time. Now, get back to DWTS. What a pity Mac and Brandy was thrown off for that little twit from Alaska(by the by heard her 15yr. old sister may be pregnant). Oh my, like Barbara Bush a real lady said STAY IN ALASKA. Yes, Babe came thru even tho she whined a lot. I love Derek and so glad this is his 3rd. win. I do love Mac and the old saying he can put his shoes under my bed anytime. Dont know what I would do but probably could think of something. ha. Thanksgiving, turkey, ham, mashed taters, dressing, mac and cheese, green beans, GREEN SALAD, gravy etc.. Hope no dessert, weigh watchers time. Travel safe all and be thankful for each other and hope all stays well and happy. Thank you for all you do and all of the people wherever they are and whatever they are doing. Special prayers for our troops all over the world and their families. Blessings

Sorry Dr. SES I forgot to share with you about the menu, deviled eggs, corn pudding, stuffing, and sweet potatoes. Come on up and join us. I realize it is a heavy traveling day so just fly in on your broom or better yet your star. Blessings. Peanut butter pie???

I LOVE green bean casserole!!! What are you guys thinking? Love to cook, and especially love to cook on Thanksgiving. All the trimmings, and much more. Hope everyone has plenty to be thankful for. Hey Doc, That steak and cheese looks pretty good to me... Hope the tukey is not the only thing stuffed tomorrow. Hope I will be too. Best to all
